Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1549: Legacy Era Part 19

Despair quickly overwhelmed the group when their belief that they were sieging a town turned out to be a city.

There was a huge difference between sieging a town and a city.

Not only was the difficulty nearly quadruple, but the defensive structures and sizes of the city made it beyond tough to even get close.

To make it simpler, a city was the equivalent of at least 10 towns combined into one.

That was just how ridiculous the city was.

Otherwise, how could the old Star Falls City even resist the monster waves and remain strong?

The old Star Falls City was considered poor, but its wealth was still vastly superior to that of a town.

It was only considered poor because it was compared with other prosperous cities, and not towns.

”The Vanguard Guild really knows how to take one by surprise.” Felicia smiled bitterly.

She was expecting to siege a town, and all her plans were made for a town.

The thoughts of sieging a city never even crossed her mind.

That was just an impossible task in general!

While the group was covered in gloominess, the livestream chat was as active as ever.

The chats were ruthless and constantly smeared and taunted the alliance in joy.

It was only through Vanguard Guild that other players could see how miserable and ridiculous the Super Guilds were.

Oftentimes, these Super Guilds always achieved major accomplishments or posted videos of impossible raids, which bolstered their status as a superpower.

It was also a big form of advertisement to lure players into applying to their guild. Even if they didn’t pass the requirement to become a part of the main Super Guild, they could also be assigned to a branch guild or a reserved force and trained their way up for a slot.

They were very successful in previous VRMMORPGs, but ever since the Divine World came out, a dark horse like the Vanguard Guild emerged.

Their prestige had constantly been hit, and the fans for Vanguard Guild only continued to rise.

The first big victim was Lethal Corps, which many Super Guilds still criticize to this day because it was thanks to their failure that they all became a laughingstock.

It was also thanks to Lethal Corps that the guild Vanguard really made it to the mainstream and attracted numerous new players.

”What should we do now, Leader?” While everyone was silent, Lionfield realized this was his chance to take a jab at Felicia. As long as he shifted the blame and pushed Felicia as the true leader of the alliance, he could avoid the heavy punishment.

’This goddamn bastard...’ Felicia also understood Lionfield’s intention, but couldn’t do anything about it.

Her leadership position was voted on collectively by everyone, so now the decision was up to her.

Had the Haven Wind Town stayed as a town like it was supposed to be from the intel, then she wouldn’t have any trouble right now.

’Wait a second...the intel.’ Suddenly, Felicia had a lightbulb.

”Ethereal members, how come we never received intel that the Haven Wind Town has been promoted?” She quickly turned to their group and questioned in a cold tone.

Since this alliance was proposed by the Ethereal in the first place, the responsibility of intel would have been theirs.

’Tsk, she’s quick.’ Lionfield was a bit disappointed that Felicia managed to find a scapegoat so fast. The scapegoat was logical, so he couldn’t even argue about it unless he really wanted to gain massive hatred from Paragon.

Not to mention, he didn’t belong to Ethereal, so there was no need for him to be involved anymore.

Sure enough, Ethereal members were fuming at being blamed for this mess.

Who could have thought the Vanguard Guild was concealing such a move from the rest of them?

But then again, it finally made sense why only a few members of Vanguard actually tried to stop them.

They were simply playing them for a fool.

”It might have been our fault, but none of us could have anticipated this move.” An Ethereal member argued. Everyone else had barely gotten their town or had finally had it in a good development process.

None of them were even close to promoting their town to a city.

The requirement was simply too tedious. Aside from requiring a certain certification to even be eligible, their town also needed to meet specific values to be considered.

Afterward, the price of promotion was even more outrageous. Not even their own guild was willing to fork out that much money at once.

’Ugh, if we give up now without even trying, we’re definitely cooked.’ Felicia knew they were backed to a dead end.

Either they charge forward and fail miserably, or they are buried alive for not even attempting.

While the rest remained almost stationary, a Void Portal suddenly emerged.

Sure enough, the viewers in the chat nearly went crazy.

These viewers would always remember that the distinctive Void Portal was a clear symbol of none other than Carmen.

Swoosh!

Carmen emerged from the Void Portal and glanced at the large crowd.

”Our Vanguard wasn’t expecting visitors. If you had informed us in advance, then we could have been better hosts. You’re making things look bad on us for not being hospitable.” She mused.

”What are you waiting for, Felicia?” Lionfield suddenly whispered to her. ”Attack her now while she’s all alone.”

”You do it then.” Felicia hissed back coldly. As if she were foolish enough to believe someone like the Demoness would come out unprepared.

There must have been reinforcement hiding somewhere else.
