Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1505: Defense Border Part 20

Karoos’ body flinched slightly when he sensed the ominous aura from Carmen. He was a Demon Lord, alright. But at this moment, he felt like he was just a puny demon elite in front of Carmen.

The sense of dread and pressure from Carmen was suffocating, to say the least.

As Karoos paid more attention, he realized his demonic beings were being nourished by Carmen’s voidlings.

If Karoos was able to personally assist his demonic beings, it would be hard to say if Carmen could have an advantage.

Unfortunately, his hands were tied because Olivia and Kong Ming gave him zero chance.

’No, I’m going to lose at this rate.’ Karoos deduced inwardly. Without the infinite demonic forces supply glitch, he would soon run out of it.

By then, even his flight would become questionable.

”Wait, let’s make a deal!” He raised his hand and shouted loudly.

”What kind of deal?” Olivia narrowed her eyes and asked.

”I promise we won’t trespass on the Divine World for another half a year in exchange for my return to Hell.”

”Half a year?”

”Don’t think that it’s too little. If you really force my hand, then I don’t mind going down with all of you. By then, those from hell would go on a full invasion.”

”Hmph, or we can just take one of you down right now.” Olivia sneered and seemed ready to kill Karoos.

However, a voice suddenly resounded at that moment.

”Half a year and Cedric.”

Everyone quickly turned their sight to the speaker.

By the time they realized who it was, Karoos was the most disgruntled one.

”You again, brat!” He hissed in annoyance.

Indeed, the speaker was none other than Xu Feng.

”That useless subordinate was the one who caused you to be in this mess in the first place. By handing him over to us, we’re actually doing you a favor.” Xu Feng mused.

Karoos pondered for a moment.

As much as he wanted to agree to the deal because he was indeed furious with Cedric, it made it seem like he had lost miserably and needed to surrender his people.

”By the way, Cedric was the one who provoked her.” Xu Feng suddenly cleared his throat and explained.

”Remember the grudge I had with Cedric and why the latter wanted to incite you earlier to attack me as well. Yeah, he also provoked her, which forced her to learn the methods to counter demons and those from Hell.”

Once he finished his statement, Karoos’ expression had darkened completely.

’So that waste was the one who caused me to lose so much advantage. I was wondering why someone would have so many methods to counter demons when we hadn’t appeared for so long.’ His anger quickly soared to a new height regarding Cedric.

”Very well!” Karoos agreed with the term.

”Wait a second—” Olivia wanted to interrupt them, but was quickly scolded.

”Shut up!” Xu Feng roared. ”The adults are talking now!”

A look of astonishment appeared on Olivia’s face.

What was that supposed to mean?

She turned to Kong Ming, hoping that he had heard it. But to her dismay, Kong Ming had his eyes closed, almost as if he couldn’t see the scene.

’You guys...’ Olivia was rendered speechless by these two.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng ignored her and returned his attention to Karoos.

”So, what do you think?” He asked calmly.

Karoos frowned a bit. ’Even a Tier 5 expert has to shut up in front of him. But can he be trusted?’

”How would I know that you wouldn’t go back on your words?”

Swoosh!

As soon as he said that, Xu Feng retrieved a contract and flashed it to him.

”Demon Lord Karoos, you might not be in the Divine World for a long time, but I’m sure you know that the contract is legally bound. No one could be above it.”

Truth be told, Xu Feng had long known that it would be near impossible to slay a Demon Lord at their current stage.

This wasn’t because they were incapable or anything. Instead, the timing was extremely bad for them.

The Divine World was still under the Colossuses’ invasion, and for Hell, that would be their optimal time to invade as well.

However, with this setback, they created the illusion that the Divine World was still strong and ready for their arrival. It would give them a false sense of insecurity to prepare for the better.

Naturally, the reality was that the Divine World needed more ample time to deal with Hell and the demons that longed for a breakthrough.

’Apologies, Olivia, but you will have to forgive me for now.’ He could already foresee the punishment awaiting him once the contract was done.

Sometime later, Karoos browsed through the contract and found no hidden conditions or sneaky tricks.

”Very well,” he snorted and gave his Demon Lord imprint.

Once the contract was done, Karoos extended his hand and forcefully summoned Cedric.

”Huh? Is it over already?”

Cedric, who had been fleeing from the pursuit, was startled by the summons.

”Congrats, Demon Lord Karoos—”

He was about to congratulate him for his success until he realized he was surrounded by people.

”...”

While he remained confused, Karoos snorted. ”I’ve honored my end of the bargain, so see you!”

”Bye bye~” Xu Feng waved his hand, allowing Karoos to return to the summon circle and exit the Divine World.

It was only then that Cedric realized he had been sold as some kind of bargain chip for Karoos to leave.

’Fuck fuck fuck!’ Cedric began sweating profusely.

He laughed awkwardly and cleared his throat. ”Ah, look at my Demon Lord forgetting about me. We were just playing a prank on you all. Bye bye too~.”

He waved his hand, turned around, and proceeded to leave. Alas, he didn’t even get far when a palm landed on his shoulder.

”My friend, where are you going?” Xu Feng smiled widely from behind, patting his shoulder a few times. ”We have a lot of things to catch up on. It’ll be sad if you just leave right away.”
