Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1528: Vanguard Sanction Part 3

The atmosphere in the office turned silent when Carmen revealed that Xu Feng would act in the drama as the main antagonist.

This was definitely a massive surprise to them all because they would have never expected him to take on a villain role.

”Wow, I can’t imagine the fans’ reaction if they learned of this news.” Li Sheng Xuan took a deep breath and said.

Given that Xu Feng had portrayed the charismatic Young Master Feng, many had come to idolize him as the number one man to go for.

Of course, there was criticism of him having a harem. But the time period was set in ancient times, where polygamy was legal and normalized.

Moreover, it was a fictional story, so people should know that many elements were exaggerated.

”Ah, although I’m the main antagonist, my screen time is very minimal.” Xu Feng raised his hand and clarified. Since the plotline revolved around corruption, as the biggest corrupter and final boss, he would naturally be at the top.

Therefore, his screen time would only be revealed near the end as he confronted the three female leads.

As for why he chose this kind of script?

The corruption vividly displayed the true crime from Razor Technology.

Naturally, it wasn’t from the chairman but from a few top executives who managed to cover their tracks quite cleanly.

Unfortunately, with his knowledge of the past, he already knew what their dirt was and where they hid it.

By then, forget about the Vanguard sanction. Razor Technology itself might face a hostile takeover from competitors who wouldn’t hesitate to devour it.

No, they definitely would, especially when he gave in an anonymous report about Razor Technology corruption and embezzlement.

There was a reason why he even started the tax evasion attack on Edgar.

They got away that time mainly because tax evasion in the Divine World really couldn’t be justified to be used in the real world court.

However, that explanation would no longer be effective if the event happened in the real world.

’Those criminals were scared and made a panicked move to transfer the money. But that’s exactly what I wanted.’ Xu Feng only regretted that he went into a coma for too long. Otherwise, he could have discovered more money being transferred.

A few minutes later, the three actresses began reading the script.

Their eyes constantly widened in surprise at the vivid details in the corruption process, almost as if it really happened.

”Um, Feng, this isn’t about you being corrupted, right?” Li Sheng Xuan looked up and felt the need to ask.

If not him, then why would he want to be portrayed as the final antagonist?

”If I’m corrupted, I think someone else will be more than ready to pummel me.” Xu Feng mused and subtly glanced at Carmen.

Sure enough, Carmen flashed the sweet yet deadly kind of smile. She definitely wouldn’t allow Xu Feng to break any laws.

Everyone in the room nodded in understanding. As much as they didn’t want to admit it, Carmen does scare them quite a lot.

A few minutes later, the three actresses got the gist of the script and understood it was yet another high-quality script.

There was just one problem...

”The corruption topic might be heavy for the viewers.” Li Sheng Xuan commented.

Chen Kexin agreed with her point of view. ”Viewers watch short dramas because they want to pass time during their boredom. It’s why there are so many exaggerated and ragebaiting plotlines to get their blood boiling.”

Xu Feng didn’t find their analysis wrong.

”What about you, Xiao Ying? What do you think?” He turned to her and asked.

”I think the government would want to bring us in for questioning.” Ding Xiao Ying smiled bitterly.

”The vivid detail of the corruption made me think of a certain company. And if the viewers were to see, some would start to make analogies and begin to deduce whether this is real or fake.”

Clap! Clap! Clap!

Xu Feng curled his lips upward when Ding Xiao Ying found the critical point.

”Although we will put discretion that everything is fictional, the audiences are clever folks. Fictional? I think not! That will be their mindset.” He chuckled heartily.

Soon, everyone came to an understanding.

While the script was indeed high quality, the actual intention was not to make any money. Instead, it was to fan the flame and enrage the audience to investigate the corruption.

And how does one enrage them?

Well, that was the job for Xu Feng.

”I came here today to record a trailer, with me being the most evil and cruel person ever.” Xu Feng pointed at himself and smiled. ”Oh by the way, Carmen here will also make a special guest appearance.”

”She what?”

Almost immediately, the crowd went numb.

They shifted their attention to Carmen in disbelief.

Upon being stared at by so many, Carmen cleared her throat and glared at Xu Feng subtly.

”I-I’ll be playing a victim in Xu Feng’s corruption. He will take advantage of me after forcing me into poverty from his corruption. In the end, I’ll jump off the building to end it all.” She said in a defeated tone.

Meanwhile, the rest stared at Xu Feng in a questionable gaze.

’Take advantage’

That was quite an ambiguous term used.

Nevertheless, the decision was made, and everyone started to head toward the studio to film the trailer version.

At the same time, the world began to speculate on the Divine World update.

And without any surprise, the name Vanguard Guild was brought up in almost all of them.

”Reports have said that the new update could most likely be related to the dungeon that the Vanguard Guild had secretly raided.”

”Sources have said that those who managed to get some scrap had a legacy quest that could enable them to further advance their skills.”

”This is reporting live on the Vanguard Headquarters! Currently, we are trying our best to request an interview as well as how they would deal with the rumored sanction on them.”

”Holy smokes, the Vanguard had opened their doors for an interview. Buckle up your seatbelts everyone!”
