Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1391: Sunrise Inner City Part 8

Xu Feng’s eyes narrowed at this second layer.

’Since you want to play that way, then so be it.’ He wasn’t going to back down now that things were already in motion.

In fact, this could be a good learning curve for those present and future members when watching the recording.

This would help them learn to adapt at any moment and to avoid panicking.

After all, he was also taken by surprise at the arrangement. But he wouldn’t let that become a factor for his defeat or an excuse to give up.

No plans were going to follow the same flow as what you had in mind. There were bound to be some changes or unexpected variables.

This was the universal law because what is life if one’s trajectory was always planned and never derailed? That kind of lifestyle was no different than being a robot programmed to do the specific coding embedded in its system.

”Never panic in the face of unforeseeable factors.” Xu Feng suddenly announced loudly.

It was to inform the people outside, as well as the recording, that he didn’t anticipate this kind of development.

Nevertheless, his chatting about the information didn’t stop the testing one bit.

Two puppets soon accelerated from the front while the one on his right slowed down a bit to bait. And behind him was the rear unit, which promptly lifted its arm, its joint locks clicking as condensed mana gathered in its palm.

’Ranged suppression. They want to lock down my movement first.’ Xu Feng quickly predicted their objective and knew he couldn’t afford any delays.

If he were to be locked down, then with his low defense attribute, plus the fact that he had practically naked gears.

That was a death sentence!

Hence, Xu Feng pivoted without hesitation, stepping onto the edge of a faded glyph he had deliberately avoided earlier.

And right at that moment, the ranged attack fired.

Instead of dodging backward, Xu Feng cut across the platform, forcing the projectile to skim past his shoulder and strike the incoming frontal puppet instead.

The impact staggered it just enough to disrupt the formation.

’One piece removed!’ His eyes glinted in a cold light. Alas, this wasn’t something he could win without taking any losses.

The price of removing one of the pieces came immediately.

The puppet on his right lunged, blade sweeping low.

Xu Feng didn’t block. He twisted his torso and let the strike pass within a finger’s width of his leg, using the momentum to spin himself further inward.

Although he tried his best to avoid the strike, his health still dropped by a big chunk. A total loss of 20% of his overall health points was depleted.

The pain tolerance was also set to a bit above the normal level to ensure their members would take the test seriously.

But now it was just great!

”Carmen really just defaulted everything to the highest...” Xu Feng murmured in disbelief. One of the attacks from the puppets scraped through his buttocks, so now it felt like it was burning.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t allow the burning sensation to affect him at the moment.

’There are still too many angles to get me. This is quite the predicament.’ He counted again and tried to come up with a better strategy to survive session 3.1.

Only a little bit over 3 minutes had gone by, with 12 more minutes left in the session.

Three puppets were still active!

And there was a two-second delay on ranged recharge.

The front-left unit was also slightly slower; its joint being worn was an obvious defect.

Xu Feng inhaled sharply, then exhaled softly. ’If I keep reacting, I’ll lose.’

So he stopped reacting!!

Since reacting would only put him at a disadvantage, he decided to do something that would take the bots by surprise. And in general, these bots would usually be players, who would definitely be astonished by his act.

He took a step forward and ran straight into their encirclement.

Sure enough, the puppets quickly tried to recalculate, micro-pauses flickering through their movements as their targeting logic struggled to re-prioritize.

That kind of unexpected hesitation was exactly what Session 3.1 was designed to test.

Unpredictable variables, followed by the uncertainty of the opponents. Due to these two factors, there was hardly a proper guideline for others to follow.

But in this case, Xu Feng vividly depicted an unexpected action to catch opponents off guard.

Xu Feng narrowed his eyes, planted his foot, and struck the ground.

It wasn’t that hard. Rather, it was a precise action.

The vibration rippled outward, desynchronizing the puppets’ footing by fractions of a second. He surged through the narrowest gap, repositioning himself so the remaining units were forced into a single engagement lane.

From the sidelines, some guild members subconsciously leaned forward.

”What a disruption!”

”So this is how you disrupt the puppets’ synchronization and coordination. They’re immune to skills, but not the vibration from the arena stage!”

”Ugh, I can’t tell how many times these puppets slaughtered my butt for trying to use crowd control skills!”

While the crowd went into an uproar outside the arena stage, Xu Feng remained unaware, as he couldn’t even look at them.

He only prayed they could learn and take notes from his actions.

’Hopefully, they remember this,’ he thought. ’Position decides difficulty. Not strength.’

Shortly after the disruption, the puppets advanced once again.

This time, they were faster, more aggressive, a clear sign of their recalculation process based on his ability.

Xu Feng’s lips curved slightly.

”This is why I didn’t like session 3.1... their adaptation speed is high.” He jokingly said as he must thank Carmen for setting everything to the greatest difficulty for him to practice around before raiding the Sunrise Inner City.

And just like that, another 10 minutes went by.

Throughout the duration, Xu Feng’s movement gradually stabilized at a fixed interval.

There was no need for further increased movement speed when he repeatedly disrupted the puppets’ synchronization while targeting their Critical Flesh Points to deal knockback damage.
