Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1027: Illusory Sparring Chamber

As Natasha glanced at the group of Vanguard Guild members being scolded ruthlessly by a rough-looking man, she was starting to doubt her reality.

Did she really come all the way here to watch some military training?

How was this any different than the usual training that the Illuminati undergoes?

’You’ve got to be kidding me, right?’ She was stupefied but ultimately chose to keep quiet. She decided to wait and give the benefit of the doubt.

While she chose this method, Xu Feng smiled mysteriously and pointed at them.

”Are we going to be subjected to those treatments as well?” He asked with a curious tone. Although he already knew the training hall in and out, that was Lin Feng’s identity and not his current ”Nathan” identity.

”Of course, not.” Kailey giggled sweetly.

”That kind of training is too specialized and hardcore for your current level. You’ll also need to reach a certain milestone before even being able to advance there.” She added, essentially implying that they weren’t qualified to even be subjected to such treatment.

Instantly, Natasha frowned a bit and felt like she had been underestimated. She believed Xu Feng was also holding the same thought and felt insulted.

But contrary to her belief, Xu Feng nodded in agreement.

”Indeed, that kind of military drill training isn’t suitable for my health. I came here for fun and not some hardcore training.” He calmly said and heaved a sigh of relief.

”...”

Speechless, Natasha was starting to have her mind going crazy from his conduct.

Did you seriously pay that much just for chasing clout?

Otherwise, why in the world would you spend so much money just for fun?

”Ahem, stop staring so intensely at me, Natasha. You’re not my cup of tea, so don’t even think about it.” Xu Feng swiftly covered his chest and retreated a few steps.

”You’re the one out of my league!” Natasha hissed coldly.

Having said that, she darted her eyes to Kailey and asked, ”Anyway, if that kind of training isn’t for us, then what are we doing here?”

”Oh, the training device is located here.” Kailey smiled. ”This training device is uniquely designed and requires a small fee to activate.”

Natasha’s body flinched upon hearing the small fee. Surely, it wasn’t going to be cheap like 1 copper coin or something.

As Kailey guided the duo and walked past Brutus, the latter didn’t react and remained focused on his training.

Sometime later, they arrived at another spacious room, filled with many more chambers.

”These chambers are the special devices I’ve talked about. Once entered, you would feel like you were in another dimension.” Kailey pointed to one of the chambers and proceeded to explain.

”This particular chamber is the illusory sparring chamber.”

”Illusory sparring chamber?” Natasha’s eyes widened in astonishment. She approached the chamber and a system prompt appeared.

—

Illusory Sparring Chamber (Mental Combat Simulation)

Description: A space where players mentally engage in combat against recreated past foes or data-driven combatants based on their performance logs.

Benefits:

Trains decision-making under pressure.

Improves reaction time and spell rotation.

No durability loss or mana consumption.

Charging Fee: 1 silver coin for 30 minutes

—

’1 silver coin for a 30-minute session only. You might as well rob the bank!’ Natasha cried inwardly when she saw the price tag on using the chamber.

What could they possibly learn and experience in such a short time frame?

Normal training from players required a minimum of 1 hour and for rankers or those who strived for improvement daily, a minimum of 3 hours were required.

Of course, the training wasn’t mandatory. But anyone who skipped out on their training and got overtaken by those creeping close behind them was destined to fall harder.

”Is the price—” Natasha wanted to ask if the price could be discounted, but Kailey swiftly cut her off.

”The price is fixed, and there are reservations made,” Kailey explained and proceeded to show the list of reservations.

”Because the two of you are newly joined members in our Vanguard Chamber of Commerce, an exception is made. As long as you wish to pay for the fee, you may use the chamber right away and experience a miracle event.”

As soon as Kailey finished her words, Natasha was on the verge of lashing out. This was no longer an exorbitant scheme, but a full-blown out scam.

Pay for the membership.

Pay for the chamber fee.

What was next?

Pay for the electricity in the facility?

Or what the heck, pay for the town’s stability if you want to remain in the town to enjoy the benefits.

Kailey seemed to have sensed Natasha’s displeasure because even she was taken aback when she first heard about the arrangement and payment fee.

”I know this sounds a bit too much, Natasha. But even our Vanguard Guild members have to pay if they want to use the chamber. As for the reservation, they had to pay extra to be on the list.” She flashed a bittersweet smile and explained.

”Even your own guild members have to pay?” Dumbfounded, Natasha wondered if she was being taken as a joke.

”Well, they are happy to pay, and sometimes. A fight broke out among them occasionally whenever there weren’t enough slots left.” Kailey laughed awkwardly.

”Now I’m really curious about this chamber’s effect.” While they were conversing, Xu Feng suddenly chimed in and paid the fee.

”I can enter now, right?” He then turned to them and asked cheekily.

”This bastard...” Natasha bit her lips softly. She watched as Xu Feng entered the chamber and realized she had lost the initial.

”Is there another illusory sparring chamber available?” She quickly asked.

”There are, but the price is no longer 1 silver coin, but 5 silver coins,” Kailey responded.

”WHAT?!”

”Please don’t misunderstand. Different chambers offer different values of return in terms of effectiveness.”

Feeling that wasn’t enough, Kailey went ahead and pointed out something, ”The chamber that Nathan entered is one of the lowest calibered chambers we have in here. But even so, the effect could be seen right away.”
