Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1017: Hidden Spy

After Natasha finished her questioning, she directly activated the town token and arrived at Haven Wind Town. Almost immediately, a surge of powerful mana shrouded her, making her mentality very clear.

”This mana density...” Startled, Natasha felt her body turning light. If she were to be exposed to such mana density consistently, then she reckoned her immersion with the virtual body would increase by leaps.

”Welcome to Haven Wind Town! Do you need a tour guide or just a simple map guide?” A woman dressed in a formal uniform approached Natasha and asked sweetly.

”Tour guide?” Natasha raised an eyebrow and wondered what the woman meant.

”Ah, allow me to introduce myself. I’m Kailey, responsible for assisting players who just arrived in our town.” Kailey introduced herself. She was the Gun Knight who was part of the Star Team led by Blue Star.

”A tour guide basically means I would personally show you around the town and explain any doubts or concerns you have. As for a map guide, we will just hand you a map and you can explore the town yourself.”

”What’s the cost for each of the services?” Having known about the Vanguard Guild’s money-grubbing way, Natasha asked for the price straightforwardly. She refused to believe they would be that magnanimous to offer it for free.

If that was the case, then the Vanguard Guild wouldn’t have turned off the map features for players.

Given that Natasha was in charge of the town’s administration, she realized she had full control of the town’s system features.

One could easily open the map for any player inside the town or close it.

Naturally, Reave Town had it open for every member, but it was clear that the Haven Wind Town was closed for every non-member.

Kailey’s eyes lit up when she realized the woman in front of her seemed interested in purchasing the services.

”The tour guide cost 5 silver coins, and the map guide cost 2 silver coins.” She explained in delight. There was a reason why she chose to approach Natasha out of everyone else who teleported here.

After all, the equipment that Natasha wore was all in the 40s.

How could such a player be broke or stingy?

As for the reason why such a player came to their town, Kailey more or less had a clue. It was either for the combat experience or a spy from elsewhere.

’The Guild Leader already said to let them come as long as it’s not from the Reaver Guild or its affiliated guilds.’ Kailey sneered inwardly. Even if the spies hailed from there, they would welcome them in open arms.

The ban was only placed for the public to understand their stance, but they knew very well it was ridiculous to think it would blockade them.

Rather than blocking them out, they actually preferred these spies to come in large numbers so that they could scam their coins out of their pockets.

Unaware of Kailey’s insidious intent, Natasha nodded her head and retrieved 5 silver coins.

”I’ll purchase the tour guide.” She said and proceeded to warn sternly. ”I expect the tour service to be great.”

”Of course,” Accepting the 5 silver coins, Kailey made sure to emphasize and promote their guild’s hospitality. ”Our pricing might be higher than the standard rate, but we guarantee everything you paid is worth the money.”

Her voice was loud and clear for all nearby players to listen.

”...”

Speechless, Natasha couldn’t help but frown at the shamelessness of every Vanguard Guild member.

She had paid for the service, and Kailey swiftly announced it loudly to everyone.

Even if she had wanted to stay low profile and inquire for information discreetly, her decision would soon attract many players who refused to pay for the services.

Without a choice, Natasha could only urge Kailey to hurry up with the tour guide.

”No worries, I’ll introduce every facility available to you.” Kailey smiled mysteriously and began guiding her.

Meanwhile, inside the Town Hall, Xu Feng had received a message with a screenshot attached to it from Kailey.

’So she’s Natasha who has been moving the Reaver Guild to target us huh.’ Xu Feng’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Thanks to his lovely spy, Hundred Ghost in the Reaver Guild.

He had received every information and detail about Natasha who hailed from the Illuminati.

With that information and a detailed description of her gear, Xu Feng purposely sent a message to the members of the elite team to scope this person out.

And whether it was by luck or something else, Kailey managed to spot Natasha right away.

She then began to approach her. Firstly, it was to swindle every coin from Natasha’s pocket, and secondly, she was trying to earn merits by being useful to the Guild Leader.

Lastly, she wanted to let her presence be known to Xu Feng and possibly have a higher chance of a promotion.

”Did that person come to our town?” Veronica suddenly raised the question when she noticed his silence. They were discussing a plan to make the Reaver Guild cry, but right at the peak of the conversation, Xu Feng became distracted.

”Yes, and she’s being guided by Kailey.” Nodding, Xu Feng didn’t plan on hiding the news.

To ensure his guild members wouldn’t be taken by surprise if he weren’t present, Xu Feng had made sure to inform his trusted aides about the Illuminati and how they were backing the Reaver Guild and other first-rate guilds from behind the scenes.

Naturally, Xu Feng made use of his ”spy” who revealed the intel to him as an excuse.

Given that it was a hidden spy, many understand why Xu Feng kept his mouth tightly sealed regarding the person’s identity.

”Do you really plan on letting her know about our training hall?” Veronica still held some doubts about the matter.

The training hall was capable of producing elite fighters. She had personally witnessed how many of their guild members turned into a new leaf after the training.

”It’ll be exposed sooner or later. We might as well accelerate things and slap the crap out of the Reaver Guild.” Xu Feng laughed heartily. He never wanted to provoke others, but he was never one to back down either.
