Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 946: Mantis Stalks The Cicada

Xu Feng was now at a complete standstill between the two parties.

On the one hand, ViciouSorc was hesitating whether to eliminate Xu Feng or not for fear of being backstabbed.

After all, Xu Fengʼs identity was quite special, and could easily play as an external forceʼs side despite having ties with the Malefic Order Guild.

On the other hand, Robin was destined to eliminate all representative guild players to lower their numbers before the second round of the trial began.

Thus, Robin never intended to eliminate external force players, but that didnʼt mean he would allow any eyewitnesses to be alive.

As long as one eyewitness was alive and retold the events once the battle royale ended, then Robin would be condemned before even succeeding in the trial. At this moment, he had already gone on to a path of no retreat.

If Robin were to successfully pass the Hall of Resonance Trial, then what awaited him in the Lazy Horizon Guild was glory and praise. But if he were to fail, then he would be sacrificed to the representative guilds.

This was why Robin had already signaled for his people to kill Xu Feng as long as he accepted his offer and entered the lethal zone.

Regardless of what side Xu Feng was on, it was better to have him eliminated. This was especially so when Xu Feng was a healer who could easily prolong a battle.

In such a twist and turns, Xu Feng happened to find himself sandwiched by two hypocritical sides.

”Canʼt we just talk things down?” Xu Feng appeared harmless as he raised his hands up.

”Why must the two sides target each other? Driftcore is a first-rate guild and not the other 5 Super Guilds.”

”Stop stalling for time!” Robin hissed coldly. ”Either come to our side or stay there and be our enemy.”

”Donʼt listen to them. Robin is known for his shrewd nature.” ViciouSorc warned solemnly. He then lightly retreated in his steps, albeit very discreetly and slowly.

His hands also began to signal for Mentos and Husan to retreat at his command. No matter what, ViciouSorc prioritized his and his brothersʼ lives over a newcomer like Xu Feng.

ʼHmph, as expected. These experts are really shrewder than others.ʼ Xu Feng sneered inwardly. He could easily sense what they were doing behind his back.

Unfortunately, while they were stalling for their own objective, Xu Feng was also doing the same.

By now, the scents that he had been secretly leaking out should have attracted the slumbering Swamp Alligator.

”Come forward now or be prepared to be killed!” Robin yelled loudly.

”Thereʼs no need to be afraid, Brother Reckonizer. Weʼll protect you from behind. Just launch an attack when you step forward.” ViciouSorc whispered softly and encouraged him to take a step forward.

Xu Feng nodded his head and pretended to adhere to ViciouSorcʼs words and Robinʼs words.

”Alright, Iʼll go over to you. Do protect me though.” He said in a panic and hurriedly rushed over.

But sure enough, when Xu Feng took a step forward, both ViciouSorc and Robin made their signal.

On Robinʼs side, his companions already launched multiple attacks on him, and on ViciouSorcʼs side, he had long signaled for a retreat.

However, to ensure they had enough time, ViciouSorc and Mentos also launched their collective spells at Xu Feng. It wasnʼt an offensive spell, but a status ailment spell aimed to weaken Xu Feng.

They clearly didnʼt want Xu Feng to die too quickly, but they also didnʼt want him to be able to retaliate against them either. Hence, weakening him was the best effect.

Unfortunately, Xu Feng had long anticipated this move and teleported from the scene.

In the blink of an eye, Xu Feng appeared behind ViciouSorcʼs side as he sneered.

”Since you dared to betray the Malefic Order Guild, then donʼt blame me for being ruthless.” He then retrieved a Ragged Scroll and activated its power.

”Not good!” ViciouSorc shouted and glanced at Husan, who had been hiding.

”Husan, quickly kill him and stop the Ragged Scroll activation!”

Based on the intensity of the Ragged Scroll, ViciouSorc was certain that they would be at a complete disadvantage after being hit by it.

Thankfully, the activation of such a Ragged Scroll usually required some time.

And that window of opening was enough for them to disrupt and stop the activation.

In the blink of an eye, Husan finally undid his stealth after using an offensive move. His appearance startled Robinʼs side as well.

An Assassinʼs stealth was very discreet and long. As long as one controlled the time very well, they could essentially stay camouflaged for a permanent time.

However, the downside of the stealth was that as long as one used any moves other than agility or utility type, their stealth would be undone.

More importantly, Husan was even wearing a Stealth Cloak which enabled him to be hidden from plain sight and the System map.

Robinʼs side only had a Stealth Cloak so they were able to remain hidden from the System map. Unfortunately, they didnʼt have any Assassins on their side, which resulted in their current state of shock.

What Robin didnʼt imagine was that Husan was actually targeting Xu Feng.

”Heh, an internal conflict. Nice, this is even more perfect.” Robin grinned wickedly. He was more than welcome in such a situation.

”Robin, arenʼt we now the great Mantis?” One of his people suddenly said.

”Mantis?” Confused, Robin raised an eyebrow and glanced at him.

”Yes, the mantis stalking the cicada, that mantis.” The person responded gleefully.

SLAP!

What the person didnʼt anticipate was Robin suddenly slapped his face.

”Fuck, youʼve got to be kidding me!” Robin cursed aloud and glanced around his surroundings.

Startled and aggrieved, the person didnʼt understand why he got slapped in the face.

In his confusion, another companion stated, ”The statement was mantis stalks the cicada unaware of the oriole behind. If weʼre the mantis stalking the cicada, then thereʼs an oriole behind. Why wouldnʼt Robin slap you in that case?”

Sure enough, in the next moment, a thunderous growling roar echoed behind.

”Who the hell brought him to my team?” Robin clenched his fist and his eyelid started to twitch heavily.
