Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 928: Ranking Placement

The Vanguard Guild was notoriously known to the public for their strict requirements and training.

But still, many wish to join because the benefits that the guild offered were extremely high. Even regular members get to enjoy benefits akin to elite members in other guilds.

Of course, it was mainly toward 2nd-rate guilds and below. Despite this, the regular membersʼ benefits in Vanguard Guild were still considered high, only falling a little bit short of the elite member benefits from first-rate guilds.

To summarize, anyone who could rank above the 200s at Vanguard Guild could be considered a player to be wary of.

After all, the members of Vanguard Guild were known to be some of the elitist players.

Poachers from many guilds were constantly active in trying to rope in the top 500s players of the Vanguard Guild. This alone goes to say a lot that there were definitely big secrets hidden in the Vanguard Guild.

And today, one of those secrets became apparent to Gentle Wind and Iceheart.

With this Training Hall, even an amateur could be trained to become an elite.

”Rank 125 out of 2,000 plus players. No wonder Guild Leader Gentle Windʼs member lost this miserably.” Iceheart commented and turned to Flame Bird. ”You best not underestimate your opponent when itʼs your turn.”

”I understand, Guild Commander.” Flame Bird nodded and was determined to not show such an embarrassing feat.

”Let this be a lesson, Steelshot.” Gentle Wind warned him softly.

”I will do better, Guild Leader.” Steelshot clenched his fist and accepted this painful lesson to heart.

What they failed to notice was that Garrettʼs face turned ashen white as he didnʼt know if he should clarify the misunderstandings.

His predicament was quickly detected by Iceheart, who wondered if he was feeling sorry for their members.

As someone who preferred to be straightforward, Iceheart said, ”Thereʼs no need to feel bad about defeating someone in a spar. If my member is up next, I hope that you can give it your all and not hold anything back.”

She was trying to console him on behalf of Gentle Wind as she didnʼt think Gentle Wind was someone who would hold a grudge over this.

”Youʼre mistaken about something, Iceheart.” At this moment, Xu Feng didnʼt want to make things difficult for his member so he stepped up to intervene.

”The Training Hall is still considered a highly restricted place, so only 125 members of the Vanguard Guild were eligible to participate.” He explained.

”...”

Silence, the atmosphere quickly turned gloomy when all noises seemed to have stopped.

”W-W-Wait a second. Youʼre saying only 125 Vanguard Guild members are participants in the training hall?” Steelshot was the first to break the silence.

”That is correct.” Xu Feng nodded.

THUD!

Suddenly, Steelshot fell to his knees as he turned to Garrett whose face seemed to be burning red in shame.

By now, almost everyone realized why Garrett was having such an expression.

It wasnʼt that he felt bad about winning, but it was the fact that his ranking placement was literally at the bottom.

Ranked 125 out of 125.

This wasnʼt some top percentile, but the bottom percentile based on the data.

Iceheart also realized that her question came off as offensive. She had thought Garrett was someone at a high ranking, but it appeared that he was actually at the bottom tier.

Meanwhile, Gentle Windʼs expression darkened as she glanced at Steelshot.

She could still forgive the latter for losing to someone at the top percentile.

After all, they received training from the mysterious Xu Feng. But now it had been revealed he lost to literally the bottom tier—that too at such a miserable outcome. She was starting to ponder the many types of training that she was about to impose upon Steelshot.

Steelshot also lost color in his face as he could imagine the training once he returned to their guild residence.

As for SilentWhisper, she clenched her fist tightly. She knew that her outcome would be the same as Steelshotʼs if she displayed a similar result against someone at the bottom percentile.

”Alright, you may return to training. The fee shall be waived since you agreed to the spar.” Xu Feng said.

Garrett was delighted to hear that the fee could be waived. Truth be told, he was really running low on funds. ”Thank you, Guild Leader.”

When Jacob and Nash saw the benefit, they hurriedly stepped forward.

”Guild Leader, allow me to spar next,” Jacob said enthusiastically.

”Guild Leader, my rank is higher than Jacob, so let me go first so the others can take reference.” Nash chimed in and made sure to put Jacob in his place.

Garrett was ranked 125 out of 125 whereas Jacob was ranked 119.

However, Nash was ranked at 104, just barely off the mark from reaching the 100s.

Nevertheless, the ranking placement was equivalent to their status in the guild and the training hall.

Moreover, the training hall had a special requirement. Every week, there would be new members who would challenge the bottom 10 players to take a spot to do the special training in the training hall.

This was the main reason why those who managed to sneak into the training hall list trained so arduously. The benefits were extremely great but once they lost the weekly challenge, they would lose all of it.

Hence, Jacob and Garrett were in the danger zone, but Nash was safe with his current ranking.

Therefore, Jacob frowned when Nash insisted on being the first to spar. He had to step back, otherwise, Nash might start targeting him.

”Nash can go first.” Jacob smiled bitterly and took a step back.

”Very well,” Xu Feng nodded and didnʼt bother to spend any time debating between them.

Instead, he turned to SilentWhisper and Flame Bird. ”Nash is a Sorcerer so whom among you want to spar with him?”

Flame Bird was pondering while SilentWhisper puffed up her chest and raised her hand.

”Iʼm a Sorcerer, so it would be beneficial if the two of us spar.” SilentWhisper volunteered. Even though she knew defeat was most likely, she refused to give up without putting up a fight.

Xu Feng accepted her determination. ”Alright, then SilentWhisper will spar with Nash, and Flame Bird will spar with Jacob.”
