Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 374: Theodore

Upon being questioned by Theodore and his unfriendly gazes at her companion, Lara knew she was going to be scolded again.

ʼDamn, just what is wrong with them?ʼ Lara cursed silently. They were here to find a pet for themselves anyway, so why did they feel the need to provoke another person.

Even without a registration link, from a glance, she could tell their bonds were rather strong. Added to the fact that they were here, it was probably for the registration link.

”So, care to explain whatʼs with the commotion here?” Theodore said, his aura surging forward. As a Manager in the Pet Association, if news of his niece causing trouble here, then his superior would be reprimanding him.

”I-Itʼs just a small trouble, Uncle.” Lara smiled awkwardly and quickly rushed to Xu Feng.

She then whispered, ”My companions were in the wrong here. Iʼll pay you back if you minimize the situation.”

It was surprisingly fast on how quick she had changed her demeanor.

Previously, she didnʼt even bat an eyelid on Xu Feng, but now that she needed him to cover for her. She started talking and looking at him.

With a warm smile, Xu Feng nodded his head, stepped forward, and gazed at Theodore. ”I suppose youʼre Manager Theodore. Yeah, I wish to file a complaint with this group of people who came to harass me and wanted to buy my pet in a threatening manner.”

Xu Feng made sure his voice was loud and clear for everyone in the lobby to know what was going on.

”W-W-What??!” Lara was stunned. She didnʼt expect Xu Feng to outright speak the truth and even exaggerate the situation.

Didnʼt he give her a warm smile and nod?

How was that supposed to be minimizing the situation?

ʼHmph, do I look like a simp?ʼ Sneering inwardly, Xu Feng followed the great principle of gender equality. So what if she requested him and wanted him to talk in favor of them?

”This is slander!” Chris hurriedly responded and continued, ”I never threatened him in any way.”

”Yes, he never threatened me.” Xu Feng nodded and proceeded to explain, ”He had his murderous aura surging up, so it meant that he wanted to kill me from the start, and not threaten. I misspoke.”

Lara: ”...”

Kiara: ”...”

Chris: ”...”

With just a few rewording, the situation became uncontrollable and Theodoreʼs rage could be seen on his face.

Troublemakers werenʼt uncommon within the Pet Association, but none dared to actually make a move here.

Yet never did he think one of her nieceʼs companions actually wanted to make a move.

”LARA!” Theodore shouted in fury.

”Y-Yes, Uncle?” Frightened, Lara looked no different than a kitten who knew it had done wrong.

”Tell your companion to get out within 5 seconds. As for the pets that recently arrived, you can tell them to forget about it!” Theodore declared, unwilling to let his niece associate with such people any further.

Who knew when they would lead her astray and possibly ruin his career in the Pet Association?

As for the possibility of Xu Feng lying, that was even more impossible.

He was originally in his office, patiently waiting for his niece while browsing through numerous documents when one of the clerks informed him of the incident.

Otherwise, he wouldnʼt have personally come out here and questioned the matter.

Naturally, in that split second, he also sensed the surging aura emitted from Chris, prompting him to shout to quickly defuse the situation from festering.

”But Uncle…” Lara was speechless at her Uncleʼs ruthlessness.

Alas, she could only shrink back when Theodore glared fiercely at her. Without a doubt, he was truly enraged and there could be no compromises.

Meanwhile, Kiaraʼs face turned ashen white and said, ”I didnʼt threaten or attempt to kill him.”

She then glanced at Xu Feng and said, ”I merely asked if I could buy your pet and did not mean to offend you.”

It would have been way better if Kiara didnʼt talk, given the nearby pet owners swiftly frowned upon hearing her defense.

Buy your pet?

What the hell does she mean by asking the owner to sell their pet?

Wasnʼt that precisely asking to offend the other party thoroughly?

Had it been an unowned pet or one that was being sold by the Pet Association, the others could still explain the behavior, but trying to buy one from an owner was an offensive remark.

It was the equivalent of asking a mother to sell their child to them. Enjoy exclusive content from empire

Lara facepalmed at this moment and knew that the tiny glimpse of hope was lost.

”Wow, the Managerʼs nieceʼs companions surely know how to minimize the situation.” Someone in the crowd could no longer hold back and gossiped in disbelief.

”Canʼt believe that asking you to sell your pet is considered trivial.”

”Heh, I like your pet, so why donʼt you sell it to me?”

”Fuck off outta here!”

Hearing the gossiping and chattering, Theodore clenched his fist and shouted, ”Guards, get these people away!”

Shortly after, multiple guards arrived and dragged Chris, and Kiara, along with the other two uninvolved people but within the same group away.

Theodore then addressed the crowd. ”This is an unsightly display of my niece. As the manager, I offer my apologies and hope that everyone can relax that such incidents will not occur again.”

”I trust Manager Theodore!”

”Hmm, I supposed itʼs just his niece causing trouble.”

Thankfully, Theodoreʼs reputation was still highly respected and trusted among the frequent people who came to the Pet Association.

As they dispersed among themselves and resumed their original task, Theodore walked toward Xu Feng.

”My niece has caused you trouble. I hope you can forgive her due to her young age.” Theodore offered his sincere apology and then noticed the registration link was unavailable between him and his pet.

ʼNo wonder they wanted to purchase the pet, but donʼt they know a registration link was just a formality?ʼ Theodore was truly exasperated by the people his niece befriended. No sane pet owners would remain calm and collected when asked if they wanted to sell their pet from out of the blue.
