Peninsula: Director of Public Prosecutions Starts with Daily Intelligence

Improved! Chief of the Eastern District Office! (Please read on)Host: Lee Se-hyun

Social Status: Prosecutor (Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office), Resident Prosecutor (Capital City Ministry of Culture)

Daily Intelligence: None (awaiting refresh)

Detected Host status upgrade, system upgrading...

Lee Se-hyun looked at the virtual panel in confusion. What did the sudden new profession, Resident Prosecutor, mean?

Are there such Prosecutors? Why didn’t he know? Had he inexplicably advanced?

Lee Se-hyun pondered for a moment and realized it might be related to Director Zheng.

The Star Prosecutor project!

Is that old man so capable? He advanced him without any hesitation, unlike Han Kang-sik, who only drew grand plans.

A Chief Prosecutor, who promised for a long time but still hadn’t delivered.

Ding! System upgrade successful!

The system has updated with new features for the Host, a brand new version!

Lee Se-hyun curiously clicked on the virtual panel, eager to know the system’s new features.

The last upgrade went from one piece of intelligence to three per day. What would it be like this time?

Could it be six per day?

Host: Lee Se-hyun

Social Status: Prosecutor...

Daily Intelligence: None (target can be specified)

Negative Emotion Value: 0 (all negative human emotions: crying, sadness, resentment, etc...)

The virtual panel suddenly had a Negative Emotion Value. According to the system’s explanation, it was different from the previous random refresh.

The system was more intelligent now and could refresh intelligence by specifying a target.

For example, if Lee Se-hyun wanted dirt on Han Kang-sik, as long as the emotion value was sufficient, it could reveal how many times Han Kang-sik wet the bed from childhood to adulthood.

This greatly increased its proactivity, giving Lee Se-hyun room to maneuver.

Lee Se-hyun was already impatient to know how many times Han Kang-sik wet the bed as a child.

How to get this Negative Emotion Value was another problem.

Lee Se-hyun pondered for a long time when his phone suddenly rang. An unfamiliar number called.

Yeoboseyo~

Junior, where are you? Minister Han has an urgent matter to discuss with you!

Oh, it’s Senior Yang Dong-cheol!

Lee Se-hyun recognized a familiar voice.

Han Kang-sik had an urgent matter to discuss with him at this time? It was probably related to this Resident Prosecutor position.

Lee Se-hyun replied, ”Senior, I’m on my way... there’s a bit of traffic. I’ll be at the Prosecutor’s Office within five minutes!”

After hanging up, he put on his helmet, revved his little donkey to full throttle, and sped off... Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office, Strategy Department, Minister’s Office.

Knock knock knock~

Lee Se-hyun knocked on the Minister’s Office door.

Come in!

Minister!

Lee Se-hyun walked in with his head held high and said, ”Minister, I heard you were looking for me?”

Sit!

Han Kang-sik gestured.

After saying this, Han Kang-sik said nothing more, leaving Lee Se-hyun to sit there idly, staring blankly.

Lee Se-hyun was at a loss. What kind of fit was this crazy Minister throwing now?

Didn’t he say he had something to discuss with him? What did it mean to leave him hanging now?

Minister, you...

Han Kang-sik sneered, ”Young man, you must be patient to achieve great things.”

”First, make me a pot of tea. I still have some documents to process here.”

After Han Kang-sik finished speaking, he resumed reviewing documents, whether he was actually working or just pretending.

Lee Se-hyun saw that Han Kang-sik’s tone was cold and his words sharp, as if he was reprimanding him?

He implied that Lee Se-hyun was too impetuous, lacked focus, and couldn’t achieve great things, almost calling him out directly.

Calling Lee Se-hyun a good-for-nothing!

Lee Se-hyun’s expression was calm. He silently followed Han Kang-sik’s instructions and made a pot of tea.

Soon after, Lee Se-hyun finished making the tea and reminded him, ”Minister, the tea is ready!”

I told you not to rush!

Han Kang-sik stood up impatiently and said, ”Look at you, always rushing!”

Siba old ma!

Lee Se-hyun suddenly remembered that he bought a watch last year!

Han Kang-sik slowly walked over, not saying a word, staring intently at Lee Se-hyun.

Lee Se-hyun got goosebumps from the stare; his hair stood on end. The gaze was chilling!

Minister, what exactly do you want from me?

Lee Se-hyun said, forcing himself.

Han Kang-sik took out a cigar, his favorite, and handed it to Lee Se-hyun.

Want one?

Minister, I’ll light it for you!

Lee Se-hyun took out his pure gold-plated lighter and lit it for Han Kang-sik.

Han Kang-sik’s mouth twitched when he saw the lighter. This thing was his just a few weeks ago.

Are you familiar with Director Zheng?

Han Kang-sik suddenly asked.

This question was very clever. It stumped Lee Se-hyun. If he said he wasn’t familiar, Han Kang-sik definitely wouldn’t believe him. If he said he was familiar, he wasn’t really that familiar.

He had only met him twice.

Seeing that Lee Se-hyun didn’t speak, Han Kang-sik already had the answer in his heart.

Lee Se-hyun’s silence became an act of default in his eyes.

Han Kang-sik pondered for a moment and said coldly, ”There’s a position in the Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office’s Financial Investigation Department.”

”I thought about it, and you’re the most suitable person to go.”

What?!

Lee Se-hyun almost shouted. Was Han Kang-sik, this sibal, trying to discard him after using him?

To demote him from the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office to the Eastern Prosecutor’s Office, a place no dog would go.

Seo Taesoo was originally from the Eastern Prosecutor’s Office.

Minister... I will obey your arrangements!

Lee Se-hyun sighed. Things had already happened.

Han Kang-sik’s demeanor suggested he was determined to send Lee Se-hyun to the countryside.

The Peninsula’s Prosecutor’s Office institutions are divided into:

The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office, the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office, the Eastern, Western, Southern, and Northern Prosecutor’s Offices, and eighteen local Prosecutor’s Offices, and so on... The Capital City Eastern Prosecutor’s Office was still considered within Capital City, not outside the capital.

Going to other local Prosecutor’s Offices was truly being banished to the countryside.

However, Lee Se-hyun’s starting point was the Capital City Central District Prosecutor’s Office, which was very high, so going to the Eastern Prosecutor’s Office was equivalent to being banished.

The Strategy Department is too small to accommodate a great Buddha like you.

Han Kang-sik said coldly.

Minister? What are you saying?

Lee Se-hyun feigned ignorance, ”I will always be your soldier!”

You’re on your own.

Han Kang-sik said.

Wait a minute! Minister!

Lee Se-hyun shouted, ”You haven’t fulfilled your promise of the Chief Prosecutor position!”

Han Kang-sik wanted to just wash his hands of it and kick Lee Se-hyun to the countryside. How could Lee Se-hyun tolerate that?

The promised Chief Prosecutor position was not only unfulfilled but he was also happily sent to the countryside.

Who could he complain to?

Han Kang-sik said impatiently, ”What are you still pretending about, you little brat?!”

Sibal!!!

With a bang!

Han Kang-sik angrily threw the teacup not far away.

This...

Lee Se-hyun really didn’t understand, otherwise, it was due to the system panel’s upgrade.

He still didn’t know his social status had improved.

Ding! Resentment from Han Kang-sik +10.

Lee Se-hyun didn’t have time to study the system voice in his head when Han Kang-sik spoke again.

Are you really unaware, or are you pretending to be unaware?

Han Kang-sik looked at the bewildered Lee Se-hyun and couldn’t help but wonder if he had misunderstood Lee Se-hyun.

Chief Prosecutor Cheng of the Capital City Eastern Prosecutor’s Office personally asked me for you. He specifically named you, Lee Se-hyun! It has to be you.

Lee Se-hyun was now like a bewildered fruit under a bewildered tree, completely confused. Who was Chief Prosecutor Cheng?

Could it all be related to that old man, Director Zheng?

Minister, Shixian truly does not know about this.

Lee Se-hyun expressed his loyalty.

Whether you know or not doesn’t matter. Your transfer order should be coming down soon.

Lee Se-hyun asked, ”May I ask, Minister, which department of the Capital City Eastern Prosecutor’s Office am I going to?”

The Financial Investigation Department, as Chief Prosecutor!

Hiss~

Lee Se-hyun was overjoyed, he didn’t expect to be promoted! It was a truly pleasant surprise!

The joy of being promoted to Chief Prosecutor completely washed away the gloom of being transferred from the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office.

Lee Se-hyun immediately thanked him, ”Thank you, Minister!”

Brother Zhi, I’ll go through fire and water for you!

Han Kang-sik’s expression improved somewhat upon hearing Lee Se-hyun’s thanks, watching Lee Se-hyun’s emotions shift from bewilderment to surprise.

With several emotional changes, Han Kang-sik became suspicious. Could it be that Shixian really wasn’t in on it?

If Lee Se-hyun was faking it, he could probably become an actor and win the Blue Dragon Best Actor award.

Lee Se-hyun walked out of Han Kang-sik’s office and couldn’t help but take a deep breath of fresh air.

This sudden change completely disrupted Lee Se-hyun’s previous plans.

Originally, he had planned to follow Han Kang-sik closely, waiting for Han Kang-sik to make a big move later.

When Assemblyman Kim ascended to the position of President, Han Kang-sik would also rise with the tide, becoming a true king.

The Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office!

The number one Prosecutor!

Lee Se-hyun could also follow behind and get a share of the spoils. When one person achieves success, their subordinates also benefit.

Becoming a Minister or something similar would also be an easy matter.

Now, however, due to his own actions, a butterfly effect had occurred, and he was transferred to the Eastern Prosecutor’s Office.

Everything had to be started from scratch.

What awaited Lee Se-hyun next would be an unknown path.
