Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Elite Knight Bloodbeard Frederick

It turns out that Count Suna’s perception of Su Li evidently has a tiny discrepancy with reality.

Ordinary people indeed cannot keep their composure and wait for the right moment in such critical times. But who is Su Li? Just a corporate worker constantly oppressed! Always facing the pressure of submitting work summaries, this pressure has practically driven him to sudden death! After all, he didn’t have any notable work achievements, how could he submit a summary? All he could do was procrastinate!

Having already died once, Su Li’s mindset is now particularly indifferent. So after venting on the little maid, the refreshed Su Li is about to rest his head on Avril’s cool, beautiful legs and take a delightful afternoon nap.

His head rubbed contentedly on Avril’s smooth, rounded, beautiful legs for a few circles, expressing with pleasure that a woman’s body truly is wonderful. Why are their beautiful legs not only smooth and delicate but also slightly cool? So comfortable!

Before falling asleep, he reminded the maid, who has already shaped herself to his preferences, ”Avril, wake me up at half past three, I need to meet with Knight Frederick.”

Avril, using her slender fingers to gently massage Su Li’s temples to ease the excitement after intense activity, heard this and said curiously, ”Knight Frederick? You seem very interested in him lately, you’ve brought him up twice already.”

Su Li felt slightly surprised, not expecting that even a maid like Avril would have such insight. Staying at Bauhinia Castle, his secrets might soon be exposed.

However, such prophetic abilities might not attract much coveting. Many entities have their own Prophets, Shamans, and Watchers.

Su Li thought he might lean towards this direction and thus said, ”Yes. I have a strong premonition that something unpleasant might occur with Knight Frederick. How much do you know about Knight Frederick?”

Without much thought after listening to Su Li’s explanation, Avril directly responded, ”That might be because you’ve awakened bloodline abilities. I’ve heard many bloodlines have a strong premonition for upcoming events. Some powerful Knights can even foresee certain fragments of future events. If you have such capability, interacting more with Knight Frederick could be beneficial.”

”About Knight Frederick, I don’t know much. I’ve only heard he’s a very fair, serious person who values Knight honors and missions.”

”But I have heard about the origin of his nickname from other servants. You know, when servants gather, they always gossip about the famed deeds of Knights.”

Su Li’s eyes lit up, ”You know the origin of Knight Frederick’s nickname? Quickly, tell me.”

This information might be more reliable than some specific deeds. As the saying goes, there’s only a wrong given name, no wrong nickname.

A nickname can more aptly reflect a person’s character, beliefs, even ideals and creeds.

Avril laughed as she spoke, ”Knight Frederick’s nickname is Bloodbeard. Can you guess why he has this nickname?”

”Because he’s brave in battle, slaying countless enemies, the blood of the enemies dyed his beard red?” Su Li always thought he was given the Bloodbeard nickname for this reason.

Avril chuckled and shook her head, saying, ”Not at all. Although Knight Frederick continues to promote this reason and takes pride in it. In truth, everyone knows the real reason is Knight Frederick enjoys intervening in judgments, especially while presiding over Bauhinia Castle’s court. Any disputes among serfs, once intervened by Knight Frederick, would inevitably lead to someone being hanged. The severity of the crime makes no difference; for the Knight Lord, as long as serfs commit crimes, the punishment severity doesn’t need to be considered.”

”During that period, serfs wouldn’t even dare seek court judgments for disputes because if Knight Frederick believed both parties were guilty, they would both be executed. In just a few months, Frederick executed countless criminals, indeed dyeing his beard with blood.”

”But Knight Frederick is also very fair; anyone who does something beneficial for the family and territory would be praised by him. Serfs with merits can even be freed from servitude, even ennobled. Throughout the Empire’s history, only three serfs have been ennobled as official nobles, one of whom was advanced by Knight Frederick.”

Upon hearing this, Su Li became even more intrigued by Knight Frederick.

This world is an extraordinary realm, where the existence of extraordinary power in the Human Empire is named Knights, similar to cultivators and qi cultivators in other worlds.

Therefore, in terms of the cultivation domain, hierarchy division is still clear, categorized as Apprentice Knight, Formal Knight, Elite Knight, Champion Knight, Divine Chosen Knight, Legendary Knight, Holy Sanctuary Knight, and beyond Holy Sanctuary is beyond Su Li’s current level to comprehend.

However, due to immense Knight worship, other aspects became quite chaotic. In the Lord’s ennobling, named after Knights, any noble with territory can be called Knight Lord. The Empire officially refers to this as Kingdom Knight.

So Kingdom Knight is merely a noble title, part of the Lord system, entirely unrelated to cultivation level, adopting the primogeniture inheritance system. Any noble offspring failing to inherit territory, regardless of cultivation level, is collectively termed Knight of Chivalry.

Kingdom Knight can even die of old age in bed, but Knights of Chivalry with merit are abundant, necessitating enfeoffment, leading to ever-diminishing land for each Kingdom Knight, not because of Emperor, Dukes, Counts enacting any appeasement edicts, but because there are too many Knights, too difficult to assimilate.

Most Knights’ father’s territory comprises a village crowded with serfs, a land for farmers to labor and his own small castle.

When a favored offspring is enfeoffed as a Kingdom Knight, the territory is merely a half-filled farmer small village. As for a small castle, it’s more like a stone house. At this point, there’s truly nothing left to divide.

Consequently, numerous Knights of Chivalry, regardless of cultivation level, remain stuck at the Knight of Chivalry status, unable to become Kingdom Knights. Therefore, the Empire must expand externally.

Some Knights of Chivalry gain status through relationships with those in power and family ties, like Su Li. But for the entire group of Knights of Chivalry, this remains rare, as few families are wealthy enough to support numerous Kingdom Knights.

Thus, throughout the Empire, there are well-trained, quality-high Knights educated in knightly virtues and left with nowhere to go, nothing to do. They can’t find Kingdom Knights to whom they could pledge loyalty, nor possible expeditions to proclaim justice...

Even the job to serve as a stable guard for a Kingdom Knight has multiple Knights of Chivalry competing for it.

Most are like armed bandits, barely distinguishable from roaming brigands, except having a horse, but even lesser than horse-bandits.

In short, it’s a nation closely tied to Knights, perhaps somewhat chaotic, perhaps slightly despairing, yet Knight honor and status are indeed supreme.

Nobles of the Empire can only be Knights, starting with Apprentice Knight cultivation, then making meritorious achievements to become Kingdom Knight/Pioneer Knight, followed by Baron, Count, Duke, Elector, and the supreme Emperor.
