Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 781: Why Did the Previous Era Leave?

In the deep space of the book, a thousand members of the blood race gathered together, maintaining a great formation. The blood mist enveloping the human world was far more complex than imagined – it was powered by their combined efforts.

This was the Blood Realm Formation of the blood race. Through this formation, they could project their souls over there and form avatars using the formation’s power. They could also summon the Blood Ancestor’s avatar through blood sacrifices.

When the Blood Ancestor avatar’s heart was crushed, the Blood Realm Formation immediately collapsed.

Adam, whose projection was over there, spat out fresh blood and fell limply to the ground.

The collapse of the formation injured all the thousand blood race members to some degree, with Adam being the most severely hurt.

“What happened?”

“Why did the formation suddenly collapse?”

“Where is the Blood Ancestor’s avatar?”

Questions poured in, but only Adam knew the situation at that time.

It took Adam a long while to recover, his face filled with shock. “There is an extremely terrifying existence in that world. It crushed the Blood Ancestor avatar’s heart.”

“It even said…”

Everyone immediately asked, “What else did it say?”

“It said it wants to use the Blood Ancestor’s blood for hotpot!”

All the blood race members present were dumbstruck, looking at each other in disbelief.

Who would dare say such a thing? Even in the greater world, few would utter those words.

“I feel like we came to the wrong world.”

“After slumbering for a thousand years, did something happen that we don’t know about?”

“Should we ask the Blood Ancestor?”

“Yes!”

They rebuilt the formation, preparing to communicate with the Blood Ancestor who was somewhere else.

But no matter how hard they tried, they could not reach the Blood Ancestor.

The blood race members’ faces turned extremely ugly.

They realized they had likely been abandoned.

This was not the first time such a thing had happened.

“What do we do now?”

“We can either live here forever or find our own way back home.”

“Find our way back…is there a way?”

“There is a way to return to the greater world.”

“Let’s go find the way!”

The thousand blood race members set off together. As abandoned children, they could either live here forever or find their own path back.

Antares watched the blood race’s reaction and laughed mockingly. “As a member of the blood race, you have no enlightenment at all.”

“That Blood Ancestor bastard hasn’t changed one bit after all these years. Still such a coward and a trifling thing.”

“That path back is not easy to walk. Even if you find it, you’ll probably die on the way.”

Antares looked at Lin Muyu. “The show is over, time to properly comprehend the laws of time.”

In the soul world, Lin Muyu was wholeheartedly comprehending the laws of immortality.

The immortality laws governed life and death, profound and mysterious.

Lin Muyu was immersed in them, unable to extricate himself.

Antares glanced at Lin Muyu. “Stinky brat, your world is temporarily safe. What comes next depends on you.”

In the human world, the blood rain fell for three full days and nights before stopping.

Except for the Shenxia Empire, all lands were dyed red by the blood water.

The stench of blood permeated the entire world.

When the Eternal Great Wall closed, the thick bloody scent wafted over, making one nauseous.

The human cultivators mobilized again to begin the cleanup.

Meng Anwen and the other divine experts searched the entire world.

Not a single living person remained.

Besides the Shenxia people, everyone else had become a blood race slave.

Not only were there no living people, even the monsters had all perished.

The world had become desolate and empty.

Meng Anwen reopened the teleportation formations, summoning all the Shenxia people back from the dragon realm.

In the imperial palace, all the Shenxia Empire’s high-level figures above the divine realm gathered.

This whole incident was bizarre, causing a world-changing transformation.

During the changes, there was no time to sort things out properly. Now they needed to carefully review it all.

Why did this happen?

Meng Anwen said solemnly, “The course of this incident has been fully understood.”

“In that year, besides the abyss demons and dragon race who arrived, there was also a race called the blood race.”

“At that time, only we Shenxia people existed in the world.”

“The blood race used their methods to create an entirely new human species, somewhat similar to us Shenxia but completely different.”

“So in that year, our ancestors left behind the words: ’Those not of our kind must have different minds.’”

“Back then, the human race faced threats from the abyss demons and dragon race. There was no time for internal conflict, the interior had to be united, which gave them a chance to grow.”

“Of course, they didn’t even know they were just blood race slaves themselves.”

“A thousand years later, the blood race took action. What happened after, you all understand.”

After listening to Meng Anwen’s full explanation, everyone fell silent. The hall was deathly quiet.

A moment later, Ning Tairan finally asked, “The abyss demons, the dragon race, and including the blood race – they are all foreign races from outside this world, correct?”

Meng Anwen nodded. “Outside our world, there are countless other worlds with many races.”

Although they were mentally prepared, everyone was still shaken by Meng Anwen’s words.

The calmest among them was actually Dongfang Li of the Dongfang Family.

Although only at level 92 with unexceptional strength, his knowledge was foremost among them all.

Especially his understanding of ancient history – no one could compare.

Dongfang Li said, “I’ve long had my suspicions. Things like the Ancient Shenxia City are actually foreign objects from the heavens. And that great figure at the core of the upper Ancient Battlefield is likely not from our world either.”

Everyone’s gaze focused on him. Meng Anwen smiled. “What else do you know?”

Dongfang Li said, “What I know mostly comes from fragmentary records in ancient texts, plus my own conjectures. I can’t say how accurate they are.”

“But it’s fine to speak of it.” Ning Tairan also chimed in.

Everyone present wanted to know more.

Having reached their level, their desire to explore the unknown was even stronger.

Dongfang Li said, “Actually, I don’t know much. Too ancient things have little record. We all know our world experienced a great war between gods and the human ancestors.”

“But before that great war, in an even more ancient time, there was another era.”

“That era was extremely brilliant and glorious, with countless experts far surpassing us.”

“But that era later disappeared for some unknown reason.”

“Combining information about the dragon race, abyss demons, blood race, the Ancient Shenxia City, and that great figure, I boldly speculate:”

“The people of that era likely left this world.”

“If they could leave, others could enter as well.”

Moxinghai lightly tapped the table, making a rhythmic patting sound. “But why would they leave this world?”

“They may have pursued higher goals, as this world became shackles hindering their growth.” Dongfang Li’s answer left everyone speechless.

What level of strength would make the world itself a shackle?

Dongfang Li said solemnly, “That great figure definitely knows, but we have no right to speak with him. Or perhaps…”

He looked towards Bai Yiyuan, Meng Anwen and the others, his meaning clear. Only Lin Muyu could converse with Antares.

Meng Anwen shook his head. “Xiao Yu once told us there are things he cannot say.”

“Is there someone not allowing him to speak?” Moxinghai asked further.

Meng Anwen nodded. “Yes, but I can tell you all clearly – outside our world, there are indeed other worlds and many races eyeing our world greedily.”

“But no matter what, the most important thing is for us to become powerful ourselves. As long as we are powerful enough, no matter how formidable the invaders, we can deal with them.”

Bang!

Feng Xiu slammed the table. “Old Meng is right. As long as we become powerful enough, nothing is unsolvable. Now the entire world has only us Shenxia people left, with boundless resources. Our next target is to exterminate the abyss, and remove that tumor as well.”
