Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 774: The Second Mutation

The second phase is also known as the Blood Feast. Lin…

The invisible power of the law spread from the human world, from this banquet.

It was as if a switch had been turned on, and mutations occurred all over the world.

In the deep space, a thousand blood race members activated a formation.

This formation was like a pool of blood, glowing red.

The Blood Feast began from here.

Antares watched this scene unfold without any intention of intervening, not even informing Lin Moyu. In its eyes, this was a trivial matter.

Even without Lin Moyu, Meng Anwen and others were enough to handle it.

As long as the bottom line was not crossed, Antares was too lazy to move.

“What a pitiful era…”

Antares muttered and continued to watch the show.

In the Dragon World, the teleportation array was activated.

Twelve beams of light shot into the sky, connecting with the Shenxia Tower, opening the passage back to the human world.

“Everyone, into the teleportation array!”

Meng Anwen’s booming voice reached everyone’s ears.

However, the response was a piercing scream.

This scream was like a switch, triggering a moment of madness.

The scream was extremely sharp, not like a sound a human could make.

After the first scream, continuous screams followed, accompanied by cries of pain.

“What happened!”

Everyone was shocked.

Nearly ten million people were gathered here, covering the mountains and plains, an unimaginable large team.

At this moment, blood columns shot into the sky within the team, and the smell of blood spread instantly.

The team became chaotic almost instantly.

Meng Anwen saw people in the team suddenly mutate. Their originally normal expressions turned ferocious, and the rationality in their eyes disappeared in an instant, replaced by bloodthirsty madness.

These people looked exactly like those from other forces who had mutated before.

After mutating, they immediately began attacking those around them, causing massive casualties in an instant.

“Something’s wrong!”

“How did this happen suddenly!”

“Don’t worry about it, save the people first!”

The god-level powerhouses reacted quickly, and some top professionals also responded, taking action.

The mutated Shenxia people began to rapidly increase in power, their strength greatly enhanced.

It was as if a strange power had entered their bodies, making them grow rapidly.

Then their bodies also began to change, growing wings on their backs, completely departing from the human category.

Their strength quickly reached level 80, enough to rival many top professionals.

Meng Anwen’s face turned extremely grim, and he gritted his teeth, “It’s really the outsiders.”

At this moment, he was certain that it was the work of the outsiders.

The chaos erupted too suddenly, and even with the intervention of god-level powerhouses, it couldn’t be completely stopped.

In a short time, the casualties were heavy, with at least tens of thousands of professionals injured.

Fortunately, there were many healers among the professionals, who immediately began treatment.

Finally, the situation was brought under control and gradually calmed down.

But suddenly, screams rang out again.

Mutations occurred once more.

Meng Anwen’s face changed drastically. This time, the people who mutated were those who had been injured earlier. Meng Anwen instantly understood and shouted, “No one is allowed to treat the injured.”

“Everyone, stay away from the injured!”

“God-level powerhouses, kill the mutated ones immediately!”

Meng Anwen pointed at the Shenxia Tower, which immediately shot out countless beams of light, accurately killing the mutated ones.

Because Meng Anwen discovered it in time, the second mutation did not cause too many casualties.

In the two mutations, the original team of eight million was reduced by tens of thousands.

In just half a day, tens of thousands of people died.

And these people were all their compatriots.

Everyone’s faces were grim, and the feeling of killing each other was very unpleasant.

Meng Anwen issued one order after another, and everyone began to check themselves and those around them.

No one could be injured. Once injured, there was a possibility of mutation.

Soon, all the injured, regardless of when they were injured, were found and isolated.

This was the only way to prevent another disaster if they mutated.

The teleportation array had been stopped earlier, and without ensuring safety, these people could only stay in the Dragon World for now.

With the team staying here, Bai Yiyuan and others couldn’t leave either.

Even now, professionals from other forces were still coming from all directions. Bai Yiyuan and others wouldn’t let these people get close to the team, killing them from a distance.

Feng Xiu asked, “What do we do now?”

Meng Anwen thought for a moment, “Pile all the corpses together and burn them!”

“Separate all the injured from the team and keep them at a distance from each other, guarded by the army.”

“I feel that this matter is not that simple.”

Feng Xiu asked, “What about you?”

Meng Anwen had already realized something, “I need to return to the Empire and hope nothing happens there.” The Shenxia Empire is the foundation, and if something happens there, it will be a big problem.

Meng Anwen handed over the matters here and immediately activated the teleportation array, returning to the Empire alone.

As soon as he emerged from the space-time channel, Meng Anwen’s face changed drastically.

The air was filled with the smell of blood.

Looking down from above, the city was filled with corpses.

Many professionals were cleaning up the corpses, as if a great battle had just taken place.

Fires were burning everywhere, and the corpses were being burned to ashes after their names were recorded.

Meng Anwen moved through several cities, finding similar scenes everywhere.

Something had indeed happened!

And it had happened throughout the entire Empire.

“Ning Lao, where are you?” Meng Anwen contacted Ning Tairan.

“The palace!” Ning Tairan quickly responded.

In the palace, a group of high-ranking officials of the Shenxia Empire had gathered.

Everyone’s expressions were solemn, and the atmosphere was extremely oppressive.

The huge pillars in the palace occasionally creaked, as if they couldn’t bear the pressure.

After Meng Anwen arrived, he quickly exchanged the information he had gathered.

Based on the current information, they reached a conclusion.

The source of this mutation was everyone except the Shenxia people.

Initially, the Shenxia people were not affected.

This included Shenxia people living abroad, who were also not affected.

But those with mixed Shenxia blood were affected and mutated in the first round.

In that mutation, many Shenxia people died, but even more were injured.

Those injured Shenxia people had recovered after treatment.

Most of them were combat professionals, mainly on the front lines.

Only a few had returned to their hometowns, scattered across the country.

Then came the second round of mutations.

This time, the Shenxia people were also affected and mutated. These mutants were all people who had been injured by the mutants in the first round.

This also indicated that the mutation was infectious.

The Empire had also taken corresponding measures, similar to those used by Meng Anwen in the Dragon World.

Isolate the injured and burn the corpses to prevent further incidents.

Meng Anwen looked at Shu Yaoshen, “Yao Lao, what do you think?”

Shu Yaoshen said in a low voice, “I have studied it but found nothing. The source of this mutation should be in the non-Shenxia blood.”

Even Shu Yaoshen couldn’t find the root cause, making the situation extremely tricky.

“Bloodline?” Dongfang Li suddenly said, “I seem to have read some information!”

Dongfang Li was in charge of the royal secret library, and he had read all the records of ancient history in the royal secret library. Some of the information that had been lost was still preserved in the royal family.
