Deep Space Scavenging, Hand Over Alien Warships at the Beginning

Chapter 78 Using a cannon to kill a mosquito”Borrow its aiming scope for a bit?”

Academician Wang was stunned, the gears in his mind failing to turn for a moment.

The main cannon of the nantianmen no. 1, from its barrel to its mount, was brand new. However, the interfaces for the energy conduits were still empty; it was essentially just a cold lump of iron without power. How could it be used as a scope?

In the Command Center, the crowd of generals, colonels, and experts also looked at each other, their faces filled with confusion.

Only Chen Weiguo, upon hearing Lin Yuan’s words, saw a sharp glint flash through his cloudy eyes.

He seemed to have grasped something.

”Lin Yuan, you brat, what kind of trick do you have up your sleeve this time?” Chen Weiguo’s voice was low, his gaze like a torch as he stared intently at him.

”Hehe, Chief, it’s not really a trick.” Lin Yuan finished his apple in a few bites, and with a flick of his wrist, the core traced a perfect parabola through the air, landing precisely in a trash can over ten meters away.

He walked leisurely to the massive holographic sand table and pointed at the red light dot still unscrupulously drawing ’S’ shaped tracks across Great Xia Country’s airspace.

”The reason this thing is so arrogant is simply because it relies on its ’stealth,’ right? Our radar can’t see it, so we can’t lock on. Naturally, our missiles become blind.”

”That is the logic,” Chen Weiguo nodded.

”Then... what if we had a weapon that didn’t need a radar lock at all?” The corners of Lin Yuan’s mouth slowly curled into a dangerous arc.

”A weapon that doesn’t need a radar lock?” Everyone’s curiosity was piqued by this statement.

”Exactly.” Lin Yuan spread his hands, acting as if it were the most natural thing in the world. ”For example... a map-wiper that hits wherever you point?”

”A map-wiper?!”

As soon as this gaming term came out, everyone in the Command Center felt like their CPUs were about to burn out.

Were they discussing a national treasure of a weapon, or were they playing games at an internet cafe?

”Comrade Lin Yuan! Please mind your language! We are conducting a serious military discussion!” An Air Force Senior Colonel couldn’t help but frown, his tone carrying a hint of a lecture.

”I am being serious.” Lin Yuan looked innocent.

He turned to Academician Wang and asked, ”Academician Wang, let me ask you: is the core principle of the ’Short-Range Spatial Warp’ on our Ghost achieved by creating a ’Spatial Singularity’ at the target point?”

”Theoretically, yes.” Academician Wang nodded, but he still didn’t understand what this had to do with shooting down a plane.

”And can we precisely deploy this ’Spatial Singularity’ to any three-dimensional coordinate point we want?” Lin Yuan followed up.

”Of course! Isn’t that what we did last time in the East Sea? We deployed the Ghost directly onto that submersible’s forehead,” Academician Wang replied immediately.

”Then we’re all set!” Lin Yuan slapped his hands together.

The smile that appeared on his face made all the military heavyweights present—men accustomed to the iron and blood of war—feel an inexplicable chill run down their spines.

”Leaders, imagine this.”

”What if we take that ’Spatial Singularity’ and, instead of deploying it elsewhere, we deploy it directly... onto the flight path of that TR-3B?”

Lin Yuan’s voice carried a bewitching magic.

”A tiny ’singularity’ that allows the Ghost to complete a spatial jump is a ’gate’ for the Ghost.”

”But for that fragile tin-can plane, which knows nothing of spatial technology...”

Lin Yuan paused, then said word by word in an almost cruel tone:

”That is a miniature black hole appearing out of thin air right in front of it, capable of tearing it and the space around it into fundamental particles!”

*Hiss—*

When Lin Yuan voiced this utterly insane plan, a synchronized sound of sharp intakes of breath echoed through the Command Center.

Everyone looked at Lin Yuan as if looking at a monster.

Just how was this kid’s brain wired?

How could he come up with such a sinister, dishonorable, yet... damnably brilliant tactic?!

Using a Spatial Singularity to shoot down a plane?

This wasn’t even a dimensional reduction strike anymore.

This was practically a god using a finger to crush a bedbug!

It was too extravagant! Too wasteful! But also... so damn satisfying!

”No! I strongly object!” Academician Wang was the first to jump up, his face flushed red. This time, however, it wasn’t out of fear of danger, but out of sheer pain for the resources.

He was like a mother hen protecting her chicks as he pointed at Lin Yuan in distress.

”’Short-Range Spatial Warp’! It needs a twenty-four-hour cooldown after every use! The load on the kunpeng engine’s crystal core is immense! This is our trump card for survival! How can we waste it on a broken reconnaissance plane?!”

”This is like using a Dongfeng missile to blow up an outhouse! It’s too wasteful! Too wasteful!”

Academician Wang beat his chest, feeling as if his very organs were aching.

”Elder Wang, you can’t look at it that way.” Lin Yuan shook his head, his smile fading slightly. ”This ’mosquito’ might not be lethal, but its buzzing is disgusting.”

”If it dares to come today, it’ll dare to send more tomorrow. Shitting and pissing over our heads every day while we can only stare blankly—if word gets out, where will our Great Xia’s dignity go?”

”Now, we have a chance to swat it dead in one blow. Not only can we kill it, but we can also make sure Eagle Sauce has no idea how we did it! From now on, whenever they want to send a plane over, they’ll have to weigh the risk of seeing a ghost!”

”Most importantly,” Lin Yuan’s gaze swept across the room, his voice suddenly rising, ”we can let the whole world see clearly that the airspace of my Great Xia Country is not anyone’s backyard! You don’t just come and go as you please!”

”If you come, you’re staying for good!”

Lin Yuan’s forceful words were like a spark that instantly ignited the powder keg in the hearts of every soldier in the Command Center.

They had been suppressed for too long!

They needed a victory! A hearty, soul-stirring victory that would strike fear into the enemy—one where the enemy wouldn’t even know how they died! They needed it to wash away all the frustration and humiliation of these years!

Chen Weiguo looked at Lin Yuan with undisguised admiration in his eyes.

This kid had the technology, the courage, and a ruthlessness and vision far beyond his years.

He knew when to hide and when to draw the blade and plunge it into the enemy’s heart!

”But... we can’t operate the Ghost,” a technician whispered as a reminder. ”Its exclusive cockpit can only be used by Comrade Lin Yuan.”

”Who said we have to use the Ghost?” Lin Yuan smiled mysteriously.

He raised a finger and pointed at the steel behemoth still lying quietly in the dock: the nantianmen no. 1.

”Academician Wang, the ’kunpeng engine’—the simplified version of the Ghost’s warp engine—the prototype was built long ago, wasn’t it?”

”The prototype was built and has been undergoing ground testing,” Academician Wang answered subconsciously.

”And is it currently installed on the rear of the nantianmen no. 1?”

”Yes... yes it is.”

”Then that’s it!” Lin Yuan slapped his thigh. ”We’ll just use the ’fart’ from the nantianmen no. 1 to blast it!”

”Use the nantianmen no. 1’s engine to create a singularity?!” Academician Wang’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. ”Nonsense! Absolutely not! The engine and the hull haven’t undergone final integration and debugging! If we force a startup and the energy goes out of control, the whole base will go up in smoke!”

”I didn’t say we’d start it up,” Lin Yuan said with confidence.

”We only need to... connect its aiming system.”

”We use the fire control radar and optical aiming system of the nantianmen no. 1’s main cannon to calculate the precise, real-time 3D coordinates of that TR-3B.”

”Then, send those coordinates to me.”

”I will use my deep space salvage system to remotely activate the Ghost’s ’Spatial Warp’ function!”

”Even though I am here physically,”

”My skill can be ’thrown’ out along with the coordinates!”

Lin Yuan finally fully revealed his plan, which could only be described as insane.

He would stay seated in the base.

And then throw a ’Spatial Singularity’ like a grenade, precisely tossing it thirty thousand meters into the sky!

To blow up that TR-3B that was still leisurely cruising along, full of itself!
