Deep Space Scavenging, Hand Over Alien Warships at the Beginning

Chapter 67 Provocation”Go... got it?”

”It... it was that simple?”

In the Command Center, everyone stared at the black streak of light receding on the screen, along with the giant backdrop still rolling frantically behind it, their brains struggling to process what had just happened.

What just happened?

Lin Yuan piloted the ”ghost” and charged forward, slashing the giant worm with a ”very high” threat rating.

Then the worm started rolling all over the ground.

And then it dragged out the deep blue star.

Finally, Lin Yuan picked up the item and ran.

The entire process took less than thirty seconds from start to finish.

This... compared to the previous ”fishing” operation, which involved feints, calculating parabolas, and was so nerve-wracking that their hearts were about to jump out, this was simply effortless, like an adult bullying a kindergartner.

”Is... is this the power of the ’energy weapon’?” a young engineer muttered to himself, his eyes filled with shock.

”Too... too terrifying,” the Minister of Security said, also looking stunned. ”In front of that lightsaber, the worm was like paper; it had no power to fight back at all!”

”No, the key isn’t the weapon.” Academician Wang’s eyes were incredibly bright; he saw much more. ”The key is the maneuverability of the ”ghost” and Lin Yuan’s operation!”

”Did you see that? The angle of his attack, the timing of his entry, and those micro-operations when dodging debris! It was textbook-level! He completely utilized the non-inertial maneuverability of the ”ghost” to play that big dummy in the palm of his hand!”

”This kid... he has truly grown from a ’pilot’ into a real ’ace fighter’!”

Academician Wang’s words resonated with everyone.

They looked at the green dot on the screen, which was returning at high speed, their eyes filled with admiration and pride.

”Hehe, Chief, Academician Wang, mission accomplished.” Lin Yuan’s smug voice rang out over the communication channel. ”The ’power bank’ has been acquired. Excellent quality, full weight, no additives, purely natural, zero pollution!”

His banter caused the tense atmosphere in the Command Center to instantly relax, and everyone couldn’t help but laugh.

”You kid, quit messing around!” Chen Weiguo scolded with a smile, but his voice was full of irrepressible relief. ”Hurry up and find a safe place to replenish your energy! Then return immediately! The victory wine back home is already prepared for you!”

”Yes!”

Lin Yuan found a new, more hidden nest and stopped.

He placed the brand-new deep blue star, which still retained its ”body heat,” on the ground. With the experience from last time, the experts from the energy group quickly provided remote guidance to help him set up a simple ”energy resonance absorption device.”

A pure and massive amount of biological energy was slowly drawn from the deep blue star and then continuously injected into the energy core of the ”ghost”.

On the screen, the percentage representing the energy reserve began to climb at a gratifying speed.

80% ... 90% ... 100%!

”Report, Chief! The ”ghost” has finished replenishing its energy! Ready to return at any time!”

”Good!” Chen Weiguo perked up. ”Technology Department! Has the return route been planned?”

”Report, Chief! The final return route has been confirmed! The entire path is in the absolute Safe Zone, with an estimated return time of 4 hours and 17 minutes!”

”Send the route map to Comrade Lin Yuan immediately!”

”Yes!”

Everything was ready.

Lin Yuan’s heart began to race with excitement.

He could finally go home.

However, just as he was about to initiate the return procedure, Chen Weiguo’s voice sounded again, but this time, there was an unusual gravity in his tone.

”Comrade Lin Yuan, before you return, I need to inform you of a situation.”

...

Meanwhile.

Earth, the eastern waters of Great Xia Country, a disputed maritime area recognized internationally.

A deep-sea research vessel with a peculiar design and an all-black hull was floating quietly on the sea surface. A prominent flag with a red sun pattern on the ship’s hull fluttered in the sea breeze.

This was the most cutting-edge marine research vessel of the Little Sun Country, claimed to be the most advanced in the world—the ”Kuroshio.”

Inside the Command Center of the ”Kuroshio,” the atmosphere was one of triumph.

”Captain! The deep sea 20000 has successfully arrived at the designated area! Depth 4500 meters! Everything is normal!”

”Very good!” A middle-aged man in a white uniform with a slicked-back side-part hairstyle nodded in satisfaction, watching the real-time footage transmitted from the deep sea on the screen.

In the footage, a sci-fi-looking, silver-white submersible was hovering quietly on the pitch-black seabed. Its robotic arm was carefully inserting a flag, also featuring a red sun pattern and made of a special alloy, into the soil of the seabed.

”Well done! Mr. Yamamoto!” The captain picked up the communicator and exclaimed in an exaggerated tone. ”You are making history! The whole world is watching you! His Majesty the Emperor will also be proud of you!”

”Hai! It is my honor to serve the Empire!” A similarly excited voice came from the submersible.

”Turn on all external live broadcast signals!” the captain ordered the technician beside him. ”Let the whole world see! Who was the first to plant a flag of exploration on this rich continental shelf!”

”Yes!”

Instantly, countless television signals and online live streams were transmitted across the world via satellite.

Inside the Little Sun Country, the nation instantly fell into a frenzy. Countless citizens took to the streets, waving flags and shouting ”Banzai,” celebrating the ”historical breakthrough” achieved by their ”great” marine exploration endeavor.

On the other side of the ocean, in The Pentagon of their ”sugar daddy,” Eagle Sauce, a group of generals in military uniforms was also watching this ”live show” with great interest.

”General, the Little Sun’s actions this time are a bit too high-profile.” An intelligence officer frowned. ”The Great Xia side has already dispatched their coast guard ships and is approaching the area.”

”Don’t worry about them.” An old general with four stars on his shoulder sipped his coffee and said indifferently. ”This is just a ’scientific expedition.’ What can they do? Do they dare to open fire on a research vessel?”

”This is tacitly approved by us. We want to use this method to constantly test their bottom line. Make them run ragged, and let them know who the true master of this ocean is.”

A contemptuous smile appeared on the old general’s face.

In his view, this was just a boring but necessary geopolitical game.

And at this moment, this news was also transmitted via encrypted channels to the underground Command Center of the ”scavenger” project.

In the conference room, Chen Weiguo had just finished an emergency call with the highest leadership.

He hung up the phone, his face so gloomy it was almost dripping water.

Beside him, a major general responsible for military liaison was also full of indignation.

”Chief! These Little Sun people are going too far! Their so-called deep sea 20000 is simply a quasi-military spy submersible! Using scientific research as a pretext to show off right at our doorstep!”

”Our conventional submarines, because the hydrology in that sea area is complex and we haven’t fully mapped the seabed terrain ourselves, don’t dare to get too close! We can only watch helplessly as they do whatever they want there!”

”What is the meaning from above?” Chen Weiguo asked in a deep voice.

”The meaning from above is still... restraint.” A look of unwillingness flashed across the major general’s face. ”Focus on diplomatic protests and avoid escalating military conflict. After all, what is most important for us right now is stable development...”

”Restraint... restraint again...” Chen Weiguo muttered to himself, clenching his fists tightly.

He knew this was the most rational, yet also the most helpless choice.

But the fire in his heart could not be suppressed no matter what.

They were here, fighting a life-and-death struggle against the most terrifying monsters in the universe for the future of the entire civilization.

And at their doorstep, they were being so brazenly humiliated by a group of clowns!

This frustration made him almost go crazy!

Just then, Lin Yuan’s communication came through.

Chen Weiguo took a deep breath, suppressed all his emotions, and in as calm a tone as possible, briefly told Lin Yuan what had happened on Earth.

On the other end of the communicator, there was silence.

After a full half-minute, Lin Yuan’s voice, carrying a hint of suppressed anger, slowly rang out.

”Chief... I have a very bold idea.”
