Deep Space Scavenging, Hand Over Alien Warships at the Beginning

Chapter 52 This pile of ”shit”...it’s worth a fortune!”Extremely high threat level!”

”Absolute hatred!”

When these two terms, accompanied by the piercing sound of alarms, echoed in the Command Center, everyone’s heart suddenly jumped into their throats.

The joy that had just arisen from successfully mapping the energy was instantly replaced by a cold chill.

”Where is it?!” Chen Weiguo asked sharply, ”How far is it from us?!”

”Report, sir!” The voice of the Minister of Intelligence Analysis wavered slightly due to tension, ”It... it is right below us! Less than fifty kilometers away!”

”It is rushing towards us at an extremely high speed!”

Fifty kilometers!

On a cosmic scale, this distance is almost equivalent to being face-to-face!

”Damn it! Is work coming this fast?”

Lin Yuan was also startled.

He controlled the ”ghost”, immediately focusing the probe’s lens on the huge red dot rapidly approaching.

This time, he was not just simply receiving data.

He actively connected his mental power to the ”Pheromone Threat Level Determination Rule” module of the ”ghost”.

Instantly, a cold, malice-filled ”scent” flooded his consciousness.

It was a kind of ”scent” that Lin Yuan could not describe.

It did not resemble any kind of smell in the real world.

It was a pure perception originating from the soul level.

If one had to describe it, it would be like locking ten thousand wild dogs that had been starving for three days and three nights in a sealed room, and then throwing in a piece of bloody fresh meat.

That kind of pure, undisguised, extreme craving for flesh and life, that madness of wanting to tear apart and devour all living things...

Lin Yuan felt his scalp tingle.

”This thing... is definitely not a pushover!” He cursed fiercely in his heart.

”Lin Yuan! Immediately activate the ’Spatial Lens Force Field’! Enter the highest level of stealth mode! Do not make any contact with it!” Academician Wang’s voice rang out urgently in the communication channel.

”Understood!”

Lin Yuan’s thoughts shifted.

On the surface of the black ”ghost”, that layer of ”Adaptive Lattice Armor” like a living thing, instantly flowed with faint light.

The surrounding space began to undergo a peculiar, visible distortion.

The figure of the ”ghost” disappeared on the spot, silently.

It did not leave; it simply used the force field to perfectly distort and bypass all light rays and detection waves directed at it.

It became a ”transparent object” in the absolute sense.

Almost at the same time the ”ghost” completed its stealth.

Below, on that dead, continent-like grey-brown carapace, inside a huge ”crater” with a diameter of several kilometers, something suddenly crawled out!

When everyone in the Command Center saw exactly what that thing was through the wide-angle lens of the ”ghost”, everyone felt their stomachs churn.

It was a... a giant worm whose ugliness and terror could not be described!

Its body was like a maggot magnified billions of times. Its entire body presented a pale, translucent color, and one could even see the disgusting internal organs slowly squirming inside.

On the surface of its body, there were no eyes, no mouth, only countless suction cups like chrysanthemums that were constantly opening, closing, and contracting. Inside each suction cup grew dense, pale white sharp teeth like steel needles.

Streams of pale yellow, foul-smelling mucus kept dripping from those suction cups, corroding the hard biological carapace below with a ”hissing” sound.

”Ugh...”

In the Command Center, some young researchers with poor psychological endurance couldn’t help but cover their mouths and rush out to vomit.

Even a soldier like Chen Weiguo, who had seen all kinds of storms, turned pale and frowned upon seeing this thing.

”Is... is this... the ’Native Predator’?” Li Na’s voice carried a sobbing tone.

This thing was simply a monster that had crawled out of humanity’s deepest nightmares.

”It seems... it hasn’t discovered us?”

Lin Yuan carefully controlled the ”ghost”, hovering in mid-air, not daring to move at all.

He saw that giant, ugly worm, after crawling out of the cave, did not rush directly towards them.

Its huge, featureless ”head” twisted irregularly in the void, as if sniffing the surrounding environment in a way they could not understand.

”It is looking for us!” Academician Wang stared fixedly at the screen, ”Its vision may have degenerated, but its perception of biological energy is extremely acute! The energy fluctuations we produced when mapping just now are like a bright lamp in the dark night to it!”

”Can the ’Spatial Lens Force Field’ shield its perception?” the Minister of Security asked nervously.

”Theoretically, yes.” The Head of Technology Department replied, but his voice lacked confidence, ”The force field can not only distort light but also isolate the dissipation of energy to a certain extent. But... this is also our first time facing this kind of pure ’biological energy’ perception-type monster; whether it is useful or not, no one can say for sure.”

Everyone’s heart was suspended.

This was like a high-stakes gamble.

Betting that their black technology could fool the ”dog nose” of the alien monster.

Time passed second by second.

The giant worm twisted and sniffed on the spot for a full minute or so.

Its countless chrysanthemum-like suction cups kept opening and closing, making a teeth-grinding friction sound.

In the Command Center, it was so quiet one could hear a pin drop.

Lin Yuan didn’t even dare to breathe.

He felt like the protagonist in a horror movie hiding under the bed, while outside the bed, the serial killer with a chainsaw was approaching step by step...

Finally, the worm seemed to have lost patience.

Its huge head suddenly turned in another direction.

Then its massive, disgusting body began to slowly squirm in that direction.

”Phew...”

Seeing this scene, everyone in the Command Center let out a long sigh of relief.

”It worked! The ’Spatial Lens Force Field’ is effective!”

”It didn’t discover us!”

”Great! We are safe!”

The joy of surviving a disaster made everyone somewhat excited.

”Lin Yuan, well done! Stay hidden, and when it has gone far away, we will continue!” Chen Weiguo also let out a sigh of relief and said into the communicator.

However, Lin Yuan did not respond.

His attention was completely attracted by another matter.

He watched the giant worm slowly squirming and crawling into the distance.

He watched it crawl to the edge of another huge, canyon-like wound.

Then he saw the worm plunge its disgusting, tooth-filled suction cup head fiercely into the ”flesh” of that wound.

Starting... to feed.

”It... is it eating this corpse?” Lin Yuan muttered to himself.

”That’s right.” Academician Wang’s voice carried a hint of gravity, ”It feeds on this ’giant beast skeleton’. This corpse is its... pasture.”

”Then... does it poop?” A very inappropriate question suddenly popped into Lin Yuan’s mind.

Academician Wang: ”...”

Everyone in the Command Center: ”...”

This question made the heavy atmosphere instantly become somewhat bizarre.

”Ahem!” Academician Wang cleared his throat and said somewhat awkwardly, ”Comrade Lin Yuan, we are currently conducting a very serious scientific exploration, please...”

Before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by an exclamation from Lin Yuan.

”Academician Wang! Look quickly!!”

On the screen, the giant worm that was feeding suddenly had a huge opening split open on its tail, on that segment-by-segment, pale white body.

Then a lump... a huge, incomparably large lump of ”excrement” that emitted a faint blue light and looked like crystal, was expelled from that opening.

The moment that ”crystal” touched the vacuum, it quickly cooled and solidified, turning into an irregular crystal the size of a truck, shimmering with an eerie blue light.

Then, it quietly floated in the void.

Seeing this scene, all the material scientists and energy scientists in the Command Center had their eyes wide open.

”That... what is that?!”

”Such a pure energy reaction!”

”It... it purified the biological energy in the ’giant beast skeleton’?!”

”This... isn’t this... a mobile ’ark reactor’ manufacturing machine?!”

Lin Yuan looked at that huge, shiny blue crystal, his mouth almost drooling.

He now had only one thought in his mind.

This piece of ”shit”... is worth a fortune!
