Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Even though Lin Yu might be the only one present who recognized this player Fu Luo, the others also let their guard down after seeing his actual performance.

Or rather...

Anyone who saw Fu Luo being chased around like a dog by a small robot wouldn’t consider him much of a threat.

Li Nian sighed: ”Well, we all overthought this - turns out this guy really is just terrible.”

Chen Zhuo couldn’t help but laugh: ”He’s not even as good as me... With that robot, if I was willing to use some consumables, I could hold my own!”

Wang Yuyang looked at Fu Luo and raised a more practical question.

”Are we still taking him with us?”

Before Lin Yu could speak, Pan Yuqiang spoke up instead.

”Straw hat, light-colored hair, looks foreign, Henan accent,” this member of the Psychological Society’s Execution Department seemed to remember something as she looked at her boyfriend,

”Yuqiang, save him first.”

Hearing Pan Yuqiang’s words, Wang Yuyang didn’t question it and immediately stepped into the carriage.

”Friend, I’ll help you!”

He announced loudly, crossing his hands...

This time, what appeared in Wang Yuyang’s hands were two thin metal throwing darts.

He flicked his right wrist, and the darts shot out swiftly.

”Clink! Snap!”

The two darts arrived in sequence - the first one lodged in front of the robot’s rotating wheels, skillfully throwing it off balance.

The second dart aimed at the robot’s chassis - this dart had no sharp point, instead featuring a magnetic suction stone at its tip.

”Click!”

The dart stuck to the bottom of the robot, then erupted with blue-white electric arcs.

”Crackle!”

The already small robot crashed to the ground and instantly stopped moving.

In just an instant, Wang Yuyang had dealt with the robot that had been troubling Fu Luo for so long.

Saved so easily by Wang Yuyang, Fu Luo stopped his frantic escape and slumped into a seat as if relieved.

”Saved!”

Then, he looked toward the direction of his savior.

Lin Yu saw Fu Luo adjust his straw hat, his scrutinizing gaze sweeping over everyone.

Then, this ’Detective’ stood up again.

”Thank you, experts, for saving me. My code name is ’Furbollo’, profession is ’Detective’... May I ask how I should address you all?”

Hearing Fu Luo’s self-introduction, Pan Yuqiang stepped forward: ”So it really is that unranked ’Detective’.”

Hearing Pan Yuqiang’s words, Lin Yu understood.

So she also recognized Fu Luo... though he didn’t know how she knew him.

Logically, while Fu Luo was famous, he wasn’t known by everyone.

Moreover, judging from Pan Yuqiang’s earlier reaction... she should have heard of and knew about Fu Luo, but hadn’t actually met him in person.

But after hearing Fu Luo’s self-introduction, one person seemed even more excited.

Chen Zhuo looked at the other party and exclaimed in surprise: ”Holy shit, you’re Fudog!”

Hearing Chen Zhuo’s exclamation, Fu Luo flicked his hat brim, put away the straw hat, and replaced it with an ordinary baseball cap.

”You’re quite rude, little fatty, calling me by my black name offline, huh?”

Chen Zhuo grew annoyed hearing Fu Luo’s heavily Henan-accented, condescending tone: ”What’s wrong with calling you Fudog? You’re always spouting nonsense on the forum... I just can’t stand you!”

After saying this, he moved closer to Lin Yu and Li Nian, gaining more confidence.

Seeing Chen Zhuo like this, Fu Luo instead became thoughtful, stroking his chin: ”Have you been arguing with me on the forum recently?”

”Of course, you randomly flamed me for an entire night!”

Chen Zhuo said indignantly, while glancing sideways at Lin Yu.

Fu Luo suddenly understood.

”Oh, I know who you are now, that ’Ai-chan’, right?” He slapped his thigh and exclaimed with feeling, ”Damn, you’re really petty. I just said a couple things like Conan is pseudo-reasoning and many cases are kinda dumbed down - was that necessary?”

Chen Zhuo’s face flushed red: ”How is it unnecessary? Don’t make it sound so trivial! I admit myself that most of Conan’s reasoning parts are actually average, but your exact words were ’Anyone who can stomach watching eight hundred episodes of this logically flawed, mentally challenged unit drama masquerading as reasoning must be gods among gods. It’s understandable if you’re in it for the characters, but those who like Haibara Ai must have never seen a woman in their life, you private-study lolicons’ - and you said it directly under my post! I was just keeping to my own circle, why did you have to jump in my face!”

Fu Luo also couldn’t hold back: ”I’m fucking done! You call that keeping to your own circle? Even if the forum has a water section, you can’t build a true love appreciation thread for Haibara Ai in the ’Death Game’ themed forum, right? Did you really think this was a forum for random posts?”

”Well the Game Master didn’t delete it!”

Chen Zhuo became even more emphatic.

As the two went back and forth, their online feud gradually became clear.

Among the remaining people, Pang Kedo, being a non-player, naturally couldn’t understand any of it...

And among the four players, three couldn’t access the forum.

The only one who could access the forum, Lin Yu, also didn’t really browse the water section.

So all four were shocked by the two’s behavior.

”Both sides are the dumbest of the dumb.”

Li Nian laughed and remarked.

Pan Yuqiang even fell into thought: ”Our organization gave ’Furbollo’ quite a high potential rating. Even though he never ’advanced’, many people have been observing him... Did we get something wrong?”

Watching the two argue, Lin Yu also found it amusing.

But she still looked at Li Nian.

”Don’t just watch the show, handle this.”

”After all, one side is our employer... and letting this continue isn’t productive.”

Lin Yu said softly. Li Nian pursed her lips.

”Why don’t you go?”

”I’m not good at this - bluffing and intimidation are my strengths, mediation isn’t really my thing.”

”Especially with players.”

Lin Yu said calmly.

Li Nian seemed to remember the results of last time when she had Lin Yu negotiate with Heavenly Artisan, and shuddered.

”True, better let me handle it.”

Saying this, Li Nian stepped forward and patted Chen Zhuo.

”Although backing you up in a flame war isn’t within our service scope, consider it a freebie. Remember to give us a five-star review.”

Li Nian said in a lowered voice, then looked at Fu Luo.

”Hey, Furbollo, you’ve introduced yourself and know the little fatty’s identity.”

”But the rest of us haven’t introduced ourselves yet... Let me tell you, the short-haired girl in white behind me and I were hired by this little fatty, and the other couple are also my friends.”

”My code name is ’Master Thief’, the short-haired girl’s code name is ’Zhu Ming’, the guy in that couple is ’Designer’... It’s fine if you’ve heard of them.”

”The three of us are from the ’Free Alliance’.”

”By the way, the girl from the couple who spoke to you earlier has the code name ’Citalopram’, and she’s a cadre of the ’Psychological Society’.”

”So, I advise you to be sma...”

Before Li Nian could finish speaking, she saw a figure flash before her eyes.

”Thump!”

Fu Luo dropped to his knees with lightning speed, grabbing Chen Zhuo’s hand with a serious expression.

”Bro, Haibara Ai is literally the most perfect woman in the world.”

”All my previous slander against Ai-chan came from my jealousy and incompetence. Only someone with messed-up values would think a resilient and intelligent woman like Sherry isn’t worth liking. I only disparaged Ai-chan to make myself seem special and unique.”

”And Conan is actually a very deep work. Being able to continuously serialize and produce so much content over so many years - having minor flaws in some episodes is just small blemishes that don’t detract from the jade’s beauty. Gosho Aoyama-sensei is the true god of Japanese reasoning. Seishi Yokomizo and Seichō Matsumoto have been overly deified by everyone - they were just lucky to be born before Aoyama-sensei, mere mortals compared to him.”
