Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

”Let me introduce everyone—this is our ’Designer’ from the ’Free Alliance.’ You can call him Brother Wang.”

”Brother Wang, this is ’Zhu Ming’ that I mentioned to everyone before... The chubby guy next to her is mine and Zhu Ming’s employer. We took a job to carry him through this dungeon.”

Li Nian introduced both sides. The man called Brother Wang, whose official code name was ’Designer,’ turned the pasta pot to low heat and greeted Lin Yu and Chen Zhuo.

”Hello, Zhu Ming. I’ve heard A Nian mention you a few times. I look forward to the day you officially join us.”

”My real name is Wang Yuyang. You can call me by my name directly.”

”Like Li Nian, I’m at the ’Second Tier.’”

Wang Yuyang spoke, clearly another powerhouse who didn’t particularly care about hiding his true identity.

Then he looked at Chen Zhuo, thought for a moment, and said: ”Hmm, you should lose some weight.”

Chen Zhuo was completely thrown off by Wang Yuyang’s blunt statement.

The other party wasn’t attacking or teasing—it was a sincere suggestion without any malice.

So although Chen Zhuo was somewhat bewildered, he still nodded.

”Ah? Oh! Okay!”

Li Nian said with a giggle: ”That’s just how Brother Wang is—he’s quite disciplined.”

”Those who enter the ’Death Game’ are all people who don’t want to die... Since you don’t want to die, why not choose a healthy lifestyle?”

Wang Yuyang said this as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Lin Yu listened to Wang Yuyang’s perfectly reasonable statement and sighed inwardly.

”No wonder people who can join the ’Free Alliance’ must have something extraordinary about them.”

As they talked, Wang Yuyang’s pasta finished cooking.

He arranged the pasta on a plate and drizzled it with the sauce he had prepared earlier.

Looking at this exquisite pasta, Li Nian seemed to realize something.

”Oh dear, Brother Wang, you didn’t bring someone into this dungeon too, did you?”

As Li Nian spoke, Wang Yuyang smiled.

”Of course. As long as I have Team Cards, I’ll definitely bring her along.”

Hearing this, Lin Yu became curious.

”Sounds like a fixed teammate...”

Li Nian said: ”Exactly. If you see Brother Wang, there’s a high probability you’ll also see his girlfriend in the same dungeon.”

Then Li Nian sighed: ”Such sickeningly sweet affection... The main reason I hate encountering couples in dungeons is because Brother Wang is just too awful.”

”Someone like me—a gloomy sewer rat whose profession is the shady ’Thief’—will simply die upon seeing others’ happiness.”

Hearing Li Nian’s words, Lin Yu felt that although the girl was half-joking, there might be some genuine feeling mixed in.

He remembered his first encounter with Li Nian in a dungeon—that was in the God of Change’s dungeon [Deadly Quiz].

At that time, Li Nian had been very proactive in facilitating the mutual destruction of that young couple in the dungeon.

Although the main reason was their existing conflicts, and the direct cause was that crow causing problems and sowing discord, Li Nian had still somewhat contributed as an accomplice who added fuel to the fire.

However, Wang Yuyang seemed quite accustomed to Li Nian’s resentful words.

”Although it’s mostly happiness, I do have my worries too... Yuqiang’s identity is rather special, as you well know.”

Wang Yuyang spoke calmly. Li Nian sighed.

”That’s true too...”

Then she suddenly realized something, looked at Lin Yu, and revealed a very sneaky smile.

”Hehe, did you know, dear Miss Zhu Ming...”

”Brother Wang’s girlfriend is from the ’Psychological Society.’”

Hearing those four words—’Psychological Society’—Lin Yu immediately froze.

”What?”

He had just been watching Li Nian and Wang Yuyang chat while observing the internal dynamics of the ’Free Alliance.’

But who would have thought... a member of the ’Psychological Society’ would suddenly appear?!

The ’Free Alliance’ was truly too free—its members actually included someone dating a person from the ’Psychological Society’!

And even if the ’Free Alliance’ was relatively loose, was something like this even allowed on the ’Psychological Society’ side?

But before Lin Yu could process this, Wang Yuyang spoke with some surprise.

”Oh? Do you also have some history with the ’Psychological Society’?”

”More than just history,” Lin Yu said with a fake smile, ”It’s deeply rooted and endlessly connected.”

He spoke softly. Wang Yuyang nodded and spoke again.

”Oh, I see... But Yuqiang is an independent operative in the Execution Department. She doesn’t have deep connections with the main Psychological Society and has relatively high autonomy.”

Seeming to sense that Lin Yu had grievances with the ’Psychological Society,’ Wang Yuyang offered this explanation.

Hearing this introduction, Lin Yu actually found it more familiar.

”Excuse me, what is your girlfriend’s profession?”

Before Wang Yuyang could answer, Li Nian burst out laughing.

”Zhu Ming, you’ve hit the nail on the head... His girlfriend is an ’Assassin’!”

’Psychological Society,’ Execution Department, ’Assassin,’ female gender...

With all these elements combined, Lin Yu’s expression changed slightly, and he was ready to turn and run immediately.

Although he was currently using the combined false identity of ”Xia Yue” and ”Zhu Ming”...

Meeting that crazy woman in a dungeon with his current identity probably wasn’t a good option either.

But before Lin Yu could execute his escape plan, Wang Yuyang’s voice sounded.

”Yuqiang—the pasta is ready.”

As he spoke, an immediate response came from the middle of the carriage.

”Coming!”

A lively female voice sounded. Then, from behind the dining car booth, a sweet-looking, adorable young girl emerged from a pile of corpses.

She showed several torn pieces of paper in her hand and said somewhat regretfully: ”I only found about five fragments of ’Train Tickets’—not even enough to piece together half a ticket.”

As she spoke, she briskly crossed half the carriage to stand before Wang Yuyang while checking out the newcomers Lin Yu and his group.

”I overheard your conversation just now... Nice to see you again, A Nian.”

”And... Zhu Ming and employer boy, right?”

The girl smiled and nodded politely, her words warm and friendly like a spring breeze.

Looking at her, Lin Yu openly let out a long sigh of relief.

”Although I knew it was impossible... Actually seeing it’s not that person is such a relief after all.”

The girl looked puzzled: ”Huh? Why would you say that?”

Li Nian couldn’t help but laugh: ”This guy was probably worried just now that it might be ’Fluoxetine’ popping out—since Fluoxetine almost killed her before.”

Hearing this, the girl looked somewhat embarrassed: ”Ah, is that so... Then Senior Fluoxetine was really too much. I’ll scold her for you if I get the chance.”

”But I’m definitely not Fluoxetine. My code name in the ’Psychological Society’ is ’Citalopram,’ and my rank in the Execution Department is only B-level...”

”Of course, since you’re Yuyang’s friend, you can just call me by my name—Pan Yuqiang.”

Lin Yu nodded.

Although she wasn’t Fluoxetine herself, which relieved him.

But facing a member of the ’Psychological Society,’ he didn’t dare be careless.

Wang Yuyang spoke again: ”You were almost killed by ’Fluoxetine’? For that guy to personally take action, you must have some exceptional qualities.”

”A Nian, why didn’t you mention this before?”

Li Nian shrugged: ”To be honest, I only found out a few days ago and haven’t had time to tell you yet.”

Pan Yuqiang seemed to remember something: ”Hey, wait a moment... I think I saw you in the Execution Department’s internal documents.”

”You’re that S-level potential newcomer who failed to become a ’Player’!”
