Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 519: Chapter 480: Isn’t It Great to Get It for Free?

And so, Wu You began to train with the Spiritual Light Cat while Li Qian stood to the side, watching with a relaxed air.

According to the information Dean Fei had given him, a Human Pet like Wu You, who possessed the characteristics of both a human and an Extraordinary Creature, had limitless Potential.

Theoretically, she had the potential to learn any kind of Skill, and the key lay in a single word: ”comprehension.”

In that regard, she was very similar to an attributeless pet beast: a very high ceiling, but also a very low floor.

Beyond that, Dean Fei had also told Li Qian that through the feedback from evolution and Power Level increases, humanity was also being transformed by Extraordinary Energy.

Humanity’s ultimate goal was, in fact, to become Extraordinary Creatures. Theoretically, as long as one reached the Saint Spirit Level, the human body would have already undergone Transcendence and become an Extraordinary Creature.

At this stage, as long as their comprehension was high enough, they could, in theory, learn all sorts of Extraordinary Skills.

This was why the Saint Spirit Level Beast Masters Li Qian had seen were not only powerful because of their Pet Beasts; they themselves also possessed formidable combat strength.

They could even crush ordinary Emperor-level Pet Beasts. And if that was true for the Saint Spirit Level, it went without saying for the Legendary Level.

And now, Wu You was in this state. No, to be precise, she was in an even better one. After all, a Saint Spirit Level’s Extraordinary Physique was forged through training, whereas she was born with hers.

So, Li Qian was quite expectant to see if Wu You could learn the Telekinesis Skill, and he watched her with rapt attention.

Wu You, who was tempering her mind according to the Spiritual Light Cat’s methods, suddenly noticed him watching. A faint smile touched her lips.

Suddenly, a pale blue fluorescent light flared in her eyes. A moment later, a thin stream of water shot out from the small, artificial canal not far from them.

The stream shot forward, aimed straight for Li Qian’s face. He never expected such a turn of events, and caught off guard, he was sprayed square in the face.

It wasn’t very harmful, nor was it particularly insulting, but it left Li Qian utterly shocked.

’What was that?’

’If I’m not mistaken, that was the Telekinesis Skill. And judging by its direction, it was almost certainly cast by Wu You.’

Previously, when he used the Eye of True Sight, Li Qian had seen clearly that Wu You’s profile did not list the Telekinesis Skill.

Now, she had used the Skill. The answer was self-evident: she had just learned it from the Spiritual Light Cat.

This was precisely why Li Qian was so shocked and astonished. She had learned the Telekinesis Skill in such a short amount of time. Although its power was barely more than a prank, it was still an absurdly fast accomplishment.

Without a doubt, Wu You’s Talent was astounding.

”You learned the Telekinesis Skill?” Li Qian asked in astonishment, ignoring the water dripping from his face.

”What do you think?” Instead of answering, Wu You waved her hand again, summoning another thin stream of water.

Li Qian was shocked, but he wasn’t stupid. He wasn’t about to fall for the same trick twice.

He threw up an arm, easily blocking the stream.

”Your Talent is decent, but you’re still a long way from defeating me!” the Spiritual Light Cat said, walking over with a haughty air.

”Alright, I’ve taught you what I can. The rest is up to you.”

As the Spiritual Light Cat spoke, it prepared to leave. Wu You hurriedly blocked its path. ”What, is that your only Skill? Are you afraid I’ll defeat you after I master more?”

”Heh!” The Spiritual Light Cat let out a dry laugh. ”I have plenty of Skills. But the others are all Time Element Skills. You... can’t learn them.”

With that, it vanished in a flash.

Watching the Spiritual Light Cat haughtily disappear, Wu You pouted in annoyance.

She wanted to argue back but didn’t know what to say.

Because when it came to Time Element Skills, she truly wasn’t confident she could learn them.

”Not bad. At least you’re not a Wasted Pet anymore!” Now that the Spiritual Light Cat had left, Li Qian snapped out of his shock and made a casual comment.

Hearing this, Wu You immediately reacted like a wildcat whose tail had been stepped on. ”What? You thought I was a Wasted Pet?” she shrieked.

”Not anymore. After all, you’ve at least learned the Telekinesis Skill!” Li Qian said with a casual air.

...

「Time flew by, and soon it was the eighth day of the first lunar month.」

For Li Qian, the New Year holiday had been quite pleasant overall.

With Wu You’s arrival, the base was noticeably livelier.

Wu You’s Talent was also surprisingly impressive. In less than ten days, in addition to the Telekinesis Skill she had learned from the Spiritual Light Cat, she had also picked up a new Skill: Gale Slash.

Perhaps because she was a member of the Wing Race, she seemed to have a natural affinity for the Wind Element.

After learning Gale Slash, her proficiency with it shot up, even surpassing Telekinesis and reaching the Skilled level first.

After peacefully enjoying the better part of his winter break, today was the day Li Qian had to leave.

School started on the sixteenth day of the first lunar month, but Li Qian had something he needed to do before returning, so he had to set off early.

After saying goodbye to his parents, Li Qian took a van driven by Elder Han to the Lingshui City high-speed rail station.

In the car, Li Qian suddenly asked out of curiosity, ”By the way, Wu You, what were you and my mom whispering about earlier?”

”That’s girl talk. You shouldn’t be so nosy.” A blush instantly appeared on Wu You’s face as she gently chided him.

Li Qian was baffled. ’What’s that all about?’ he thought, completely confused. ’All I did was ask.’

’Why such a huge reaction?’

The car sped along, arriving at the Lingshui City high-speed rail station before long.

After getting out of the car, Li Qian wasted no time. He reached out through his contract, preparing to recall Wu You into his Beast Taming Space.

Seeing this, Wu You immediately asked, ”What are you doing?”

Li Qian said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, ”Recalling you to the Beast Taming Space, of course. Otherwise, I’d have to buy another train ticket!”

”Don’t you dare recall me into the Beast Taming Space! I want to stay out here!” Hearing this, Wu You’s expression immediately darkened. ”With how rich you are, you’re really going to worry about one extra train ticket?”

Li Qian shrugged. ”It’s not about the one ticket. It’s about a free ride. Who would pass that up?”

”No, at least not for this trip!” Wu You said firmly. ”I don’t want to stay inside the Beast Taming Space.”

Li Qian thought for a moment. ”Alright, fine. You can stay out for this leg of the trip. But once we get to Yunlan City, you have to go into the Beast Taming Space. The fees for the Teleportation Array are ridiculously expensive!”
