Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 518: Chapter 479: Absurd

It was New Year’s Eve, and his mom had cornered him first thing in the morning to say something utterly ridiculous. Li Qian had a feeling this holiday was already ruined.

Besides, who cared if Wu You could have children or not? Well, okay, his parents were quite concerned about it.

All in all, Li Qian was speechless. He didn’t know what to say. So, last night his mom had pulled Wu You aside for a chat—a chat that lasted the whole evening—and *this* was the result.

Ignoring his mom’s absurd nagging, Li Qian went straight to the dining room and heartily enjoyed his breakfast.

Only after breakfast did he release Wu You from his Beast Taming Space.

”Hmph!” Released from the Beast Taming Space, Wu You let out a cold snort, her eyes filled with reproach.

Li Qian rubbed his nose and chuckled sheepishly. He had indeed been a little out of line.

’Still, thinking back to last night, that slap... the sensation had been rather unique.’

’Not to mention, the Wing Race woman had an amazing figure—curvy in all the right places.’

”Um, have some breakfast,” Li Qian mumbled, feeling a little guilty under Wu You’s reproachful gaze.

After saying his piece, he practically fled. Seeing this, Wu You couldn’t help but smile.

’He had been so bold last night, yet this morning he was all timid and flustered, like an innocent schoolboy.’

’She found this side of Li Qian quite amusing.’

Even though it was the New Year, the day wasn’t much different from any other for Li Qian.

There were some ancestor and heaven-worshipping ceremonies, but he just had to go through the motions.

Everyone else, especially his parents, was bustling with activity, but the tasks that fell to him were few and far between.

As a result, he was the most bored person on the base. With nothing to do and no way to help, he was wandering aimlessly when he came across a group of Three-tailed Cats.

There were about fifteen or sixteen of them, likely evolved from the first batch of One-tailed Cats his parents had purchased.

Tailed Cat Pet Beasts were rather unique; the evolution from one to three tails was not difficult at all, and the method was even public knowledge.

Therefore, Li Qian wasn’t at all surprised that the base had managed to evolve Three-tailed Cats in just a few short months.

With nothing better to do, Li Qian decided to communicate with the Three-tailed Cats, and then began teaching them the Telekinesis Skill.

The Three-tailed Cat’s next evolution depended on this Skill. They would have to learn it sooner or later, so the sooner the better.

To help them learn the Telekinesis Skill more quickly, Li Qian not only explained it himself but also had his Spiritual Light Cat demonstrate it personally.

Although the Spiritual Light Cat didn’t know many Skills, its Telekinesis was at the Perfection level, so giving a demonstration was no problem at all.

Upon seeing the Spiritual Light Cat appear and sensing the aura of a superior being it emanated, all fifteen or so Three-tailed Cats began to tremble uncontrollably.

Of course, even as they cowered in fear, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation. Spurred on by this mix of emotions, they trained even harder.

After demonstrating the Telekinesis Skill, the Spiritual Light Cat suddenly turned its head toward a certain spot. ”You’ve been watching for so long. Don’t you want to join in and practice?”

The moment the Spiritual Light Cat finished speaking, Wu You emerged from behind a large, nearby tree.

”What are you doing here?” Li Qian asked, surprised to see her emerge from behind the tree.

”And why shouldn’t I be here?” Wu You walked over with a smile, her eyes darting about mischievously.

Her gaze was intense as she looked at the Spiritual Light Cat. ”This big white cat... what kind of Pet Beast is it? And why can it talk?”

”I just meant, why aren’t you with my mom...” Li Qian began to explain, but stopped halfway through. He realized his mother was probably busy right now, so he quickly changed the subject.

”Uh, it’s called a Spiritual Light Cat. It’s a new Pet Beast I developed recently.”

Quite curious, Wu You immediately raised her smart bracelet to scan it, but something unexpected happened.

The smart bracelet displayed no information whatsoever.

”Master hasn’t registered my information yet,” the Spiritual Light Cat said with a touch of pride as it watched her. ”You won’t be able to scan anything.”

”Besides, don’t be so dramatic. I’m not the only Pet Beast that can talk, you know.”

Instead of being annoyed at being dissed by the Spiritual Light Cat, Wu You only grew more interested.

She looked at Li Qian and made her request directly. ”Li Qian, I’m about to break through to Dominator Level.”

”Once I break through to the Dominator Level, can I form a contract with this big white cat? It’s so cute!”

Li Qian’s brow darkened. He held the Spiritual Light Cat in high regard, so he didn’t agree immediately. ”I’m afraid that’s not possible. If you want to form a contract with the Spiritual Light Cat, you’ll need to earn its approval.”

The instant the words left Li Qian’s mouth, the Spiritual Light Cat’s voice rang out, holding nothing back. ”You want to form a contract with me? You’re not worthy!”

”Never mind that you can’t even advance to the Dominator Level yet because of Master’s limited Spiritual Power Level. Even if you did, it would be nearly impossible for you to form a contract with me!”

The Spiritual Light Cat ruthlessly pointed out, ”Fundamentally, you and I are no different. Right now, you’re just one of Master’s Pet Beasts!”

”And from a Pet Beast’s perspective, your Potential is far lower than mine.”

”I have no desire to become the Pet Beast of another Pet Beast.”

The Spiritual Light Cat’s voice took on a proud tone. ”Of course, if you really want to form a contract with me, it’s not entirely out of the question.”

”If we are at the same Level, I will agree to form a contract with you, but only if you can defeat me.”

”Oh, and I forgot to mention, my attribute is the Time Element. My actual combat power is average, but it should be more than enough to handle you.”

The Spiritual Light Cat’s words basically dismissed Wu You as worthless.

Even Li Qian felt awkward just listening.

But Wu You just smiled sweetly, as if she didn’t mind at all. ”Alright, then. It’s a deal. And didn’t you just say I should practice the Telekinesis Skill with you?”

”What’s wrong? Worried I’ll surpass you, so now you’re backing out?”

The Spiritual Light Cat let out a dry laugh, the corners of its mouth twisting into a faint, human-like smirk. ”Me? Worry about you surpassing me...”

”Whatever. If you want to learn, then learn. For me, herding one sheep is no different from herding a whole flock.”

Having agreed, the Spiritual Light Cat resumed demonstrating the Telekinesis Skill for the group of Three-tailed Cats and Wu You.

Li Qian stood off to the side, watching the scene unfold with a strange expression on his face.

’A cat-type Pet Beast teaching a human a Skill... The scene was truly a bit absurd.’
