Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 508: Chapter 469: Jade Spirit Eyes

After Pei Yuanyuan and her mentor, Luo Siqi, departed, Li Qian settled back into his usual academic rhythm.

In the blink of an eye, it was time for final exams. Li Qian took the tests for all eight courses he had signed up for on the school’s intranet.

The eight courses were certainly challenging, but Li Qian felt the difficulty was well within his capabilities.

He answered each question carefully, taking one exam after another. Overall, he didn’t have much trouble and felt quite confident.

”As long as his grades aren’t terrible, just pass him!” The moment Li Qian’s exams were over, Dean Fei gave this directive to the teacher in charge.

In his view, a hands-on talent like Li Qian, who had already achieved so much, shouldn’t be shackled by theoretical frameworks.

It wasn’t as if there weren’t students who aced their exams only to live out mediocre lives, accomplishing nothing. Such students couldn’t even be mentioned in the same breath as Li Qian.

”Theoretical exams are important, of course, but they can’t be the sole basis for judgment.”

”Dean Fei, there’s no need. I understand your intention, but anything more you say is pointless. Li Qian’s grades are excellent.” The teacher in charge of the final exams had a wry smile on his face as he listened to Dean Fei’s directive.

Clearly, the dean had jumped the gun and hadn’t even bothered to ask about Li Qian’s final exam scores.

With grades like his, Li Qian had absolutely no need for such special arrangements or preferential treatment.

”AHEM... well, I knew it all along. With a student like Li Qian and his knowledge base, passing a few final exams is a piece of cake,” Dean Fei said, changing his tune without batting an eye upon learning the truth.

Beside him, the teacher in charge of the exams heard this, and the corner of his mouth twitched almost imperceptibly.

Though at a loss for words, he couldn’t help but be impressed. The extent of Li Qian’s genius was truly beyond his comprehension.

Completing all the courses for the first semester of the third year during his very first semester as a freshman was simply mind-boggling.

The most crucial part was that while his exam scores weren’t at the very top of the class, they were still quite good, placing him in the upper-middle tier.

After the exams, Li Qian wasted no time and went straight to the Archaeology College to see Teacher Liang Huaizhen.

There, he learned the complete Array Dance from Teacher Liang. This dance was the key to the Four-tailed Cat’s second evolution method.

Just as he had suspected, the moment he finished learning the complete Array Dance, a notification sounded in his mind.

The Progress Value for the ”Second Evolution Method for the Four-tailed Cat” quest had finally reached one hundred percent.

Seeing this, Li Qian submitted the quest without hesitation. A flood of feedback instantly inundated his mind.

After absorbing all the feedback, a faint smile played on Li Qian’s lips.

He was quite satisfied with the rewards from the quest. In addition to receiving the Four-tailed Cat’s second evolution method, his Spiritual Power had also seen a significant increase.

The surging Spiritual Power broke through its shackles, reaching the level of a Tier Eight Commander.

Driven by this surge in Spiritual Power, both Qizai and Xiaoliu received a substantial power boost.

Their Power Levels also broke through a bottleneck, reaching Tier Seven Commander and crossing the threshold into the High-level Commander realm.

The rewards were unexpectedly great, which filled Li Qian with anticipation for this novel evolution method.

He didn’t hesitate to act, immediately finding Teacher Yang to ask about the Jade Spirit Eyes.

Li Qian had already searched for them on various platforms himself; Jade Spirit Eyes were simply too rare.

Since he couldn’t acquire one directly, he turned to Teacher Yang. He figured that given the teacher’s familiarity with Jade Spirit Eyes, he must know some inside information.

As it turned out, his guess was correct. Teacher Yang did know about Jade Spirit Eyes and could even help him obtain one.

”While a material like Jade Spirit Eyes isn’t among the most precious, it’s exceptionally rare. Most importantly, it’s virtually nonexistent in the Dimension Planes associated with our Dongxia Federation. That makes acquiring one quite troublesome, and the seller’s asking price might be a bit outrageous,” Teacher Yang warned Li Qian in advance.

Li Qian nodded in understanding. ”When an item is rare, the seller can set the terms. It’s only natural for them to make extra demands.”

He continued without a pause, ”In that case, as an Evolution Cultivator, I don’t have many other conditions I can offer. Even if I scraped something together, it wouldn’t be very appealing.”

”So, I’ll just make my offer in terms of my skills.” As he spoke, Li Qian waved his hand, projecting a screen of light.

On the screen were the images of four Pet Beasts. Looking at the projections, Li Qian said confidently, ”As long as the other party is willing, I can evolve one of these four Pet Beasts for them, free of charge.”

Teacher Yang stared at the four Pet Beasts on the screen, his face a mask of astonishment. ”Emperor Initial Stage Potential, Wind and Space Element Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle; Emperor Initial Stage Potential, Water and Life Element Tidal Sea Spirit; Emperor High Rank, Fire and Light Element Sunbird; Emperor High Rank, Fire and Earth Element Emperor Beast!”

Because Li Qian had displayed not only the images but also the basic information for each Pet Beast, Teacher Yang could see everything clearly.

And it was precisely because he could see this information that he wore such an incredulous expression.

He had known before that Li Qian was a breeding genius, but he’d never imagined he was a genius on this level.

To have researched four evolution methods for Emperor-level Pet Beasts while still a first-year student... No wonder Teacher Liang and the faculty of the Cultivation College were so protective of him.

A genius like that had to be cherished and protected at all costs.

”So, what do you think?” Li Qian asked with a smile, seeing that Teacher Yang was completely engrossed.

”You’re offering evolutions for four Pet Beasts like these? What more is there to say? Don’t you worry. Just leave it to me,” Teacher Yang said, patting his chest with conviction.

In reality, if he were a bit more opportunistic, he could stand to gain quite a bit from this arrangement.

After all, strictly speaking, Jade Spirit Eyes weren’t exceptionally precious, just not native to the Dongxia Federation. With a little effort, he could probably get his hands on four or five of them without a problem.

Of course, he had no intention of doing so.

Compared to earning Li Qian’s goodwill, those benefits were nothing.

”Then I’ll be counting on you, Teacher Yang.” Seeing that the teacher had taken responsibility for the matter, Li Qian thanked him gratefully.
