Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 287: Chapter 259: Pleasant Surprise, Departure (Part 2)

A smile spread across Li Qian’s face. The Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle was just as excited.

”CHIRP! CHIRP!” It let out two more high-pitched calls and used its Instant Movement Skill several times, as if trying to vent its pent-up excitement.

Beaming, Li Qian watched the display and immediately responded, ”Good, very good! Since you’ve mastered the Instant Movement Skill, it proves you have spatial Talent. This means I can take you to complete the second stage of your evolution tomorrow!”

Hearing Li Qian’s plan—his response to its excitement—the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle circled excitedly in mid-air.

After a few more words of encouragement, the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle and Xiaohui spread their wings and soared away from the vicinity of Building One.

Now that it was confirmed the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle had mastered the Instant Movement Skill, there was no point in staying any longer.

Watching the two Pet Beasts depart, Li Qian stood rooted to the spot, lost in thought.

The Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle’s situation was somewhat unexpected.

Based on its previous training, Li Qian had already concluded in his mind... that it probably didn’t have any spatial Talent.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t have struggled so much with even the Beginner level, a stark contrast to Xiaohui’s progress.

But if it didn’t have spatial Talent, how did it learn the Instant Movement Skill in just a few hours?

’It couldn’t have had a sudden breakthrough, an epiphany, just because it was pushed to its limit, could it?’

’Can a Pet Beast’s willpower really reach such a level? Can it change its own innate physical Talent?’

’Or maybe every Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle actually possesses spatial Talent, and it just depends on whether their willpower is strong enough to force it out?’

Unable to figure it out, Li Qian decided not to dwell on it. Perhaps his mother’s Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle was just a special case.

The incident had a certain impact on Li Qian, but truthfully, it didn’t affect him much. Before long, he shook his head, cleared his thoughts, and went back to sleep.

”Mom, do you want to take a trip? To Zhonghai City?” Li Qian asked suddenly the next morning during breakfast.

”Why the sudden idea? Travel to Zhonghai City? Where would I find the time for that?” his mother, Han Yuqing, refused without a second thought.

As she refused, she was also a bit puzzled. ’Why would my son suddenly bring up traveling out of the blue?’

”Well, do you want your Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle to evolve again or not?” Li Qian said nonchalantly while eating his breakfast.

Hearing this, Han Yuqing grew even more confused. She shot her son a suspicious look. ”Evolve? Hasn’t it already finished evolving?”

Han Yuqing had known for a while that her Gray Bean Dove had evolved; she had felt the evolutionary feedback.

As for its subsequent Evolutionary Form, the Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle, she wasn’t very clear on the details because Li Qian hadn’t explained everything, so she hadn’t given it much thought.

So, hearing this out of nowhere, his mother Han Yuqing was completely baffled.

Li Qian smiled and briefly explained the relationship between the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle and the Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle.

After Li Qian’s explanation, it dawned on Han Yuqing and she finally understood.

So the Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle was the next Evolutionary Form after the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle, and her own Pet Beast just so happened to possess the qualifications to evolve into it.

”In that case, it seems I have to make a trip to Zhonghai City after all...” Han Yuqing murmured after a moment of thought, then nodded.

Han Yuqing naturally wanted her starter Pet Beast, which had been with her for so many years, to reach greater heights.

Before, she saw no hope and had no choice but to accept its limits. Now that there was a chance, how could she possibly pass it up?

But according to her son, the evolution had to be done in Zhonghai City. She couldn’t let him go there, complete the evolution, and then make a special trip to send the Pet Beast back to Lingshui City. The back-and-forth would be too much of a hassle and would likely interfere with the start of his university term.

Therefore, she had no choice but to go herself.

”And since we’re making the trip to Zhonghai City, wouldn’t it be a waste not to do some sightseeing?” Li Qian added persuasively, seeing that his mother had agreed.

”Well, in that case, we could indeed do a little sightseeing while we’re there...” Han Yuqing nodded in agreement, a pleased expression on her face.

She would never make a special trip to Zhonghai City just for fun, but if it was on the way for something else, then it was fine.

After all, since they were already going, it would be a real shame not to look around.

With the decision made, Li Qian and his mother, Han Yuqing, wasted no time. They set off right after breakfast.

Since Li Qian had already been planning to leave for Shazhou Beast Taming University today, his luggage was already packed.

As for his mother, Han Yuqing, even if she was going on a trip, it wouldn’t be for very long, so she didn’t need to pack much either.

The same went for his father, Li Chengyang.

Li Qian wouldn’t have felt at ease letting his mother travel alone, so of course, his father had to go with them.

Around 8:30, the family of three hailed a cab and went straight to the Lingshui City high-speed rail station.

As soon as they arrived, Li Qian spotted two beautiful figures in the plaza outside the station.

They were so eye-catching because, next to the two beautiful figures, there was a portly one who was waving frantically at Li Qian. It was hard not to notice.

Needless to say, the portly figure was Li Qian’s best friend, Fatty An. He was also one of the group traveling to study at Shazhou Beast Taming University.

Only now, with the change in plans, Li Qian would only be able to travel with them for a short while.

Upon seeing Fatty An, Li Lanying, and Tu Jiaojiao, Li Qian didn’t hesitate and quickly walked over to join them.

”Sorry, something came up last minute. Have you been waiting long?” Although he wasn’t late for the train they had booked, they had agreed to meet up early, so Li Qian immediately apologized.

”It’s fine, we got here early,” Tu Jiaojiao said. She glanced at Li Qian, then at his parents behind him, unsurprised. Her own parents had come to see her off before, but she had sent them away after they got to the station.

If she hadn’t sent them away, her parents would have probably just stood there nagging, complaining about why she chose to enroll in a university as far away as Shazhou Beast Taming University.

Complaining at home was one thing, but two of her classmates were right here. It would have been awkward if they overheard, since they were also enrolled in the same school.

”Uncle, Aunty, are you here to see Li Qian off?” Li Lanying had also spotted Li Qian’s parents. Having interned at the Cultivation Base for a month, she was quite familiar with them and greeted them warmly.

”No, we’re making a trip to Zhonghai City,” his mother, Han Yuqing, explained, her expression a little odd as she glanced from Li Lanying to Tu Jiaojiao.

”Oh, right, there’s something I need to tell you guys. I’ll probably only be able to travel with you as far as Yunlan City.” As the group started entering the station, Li Qian explained while they walked, ”I have to make a detour to Zhonghai City, then take the Teleportation Array from there to Shazhou City.”

He finished with a helpless shrug. ”So, we’ll have to meet up in Shazhou City.”

Li Lanying glanced at Li Qian, then at his parents, and guessed it had something to do with them. She waved a hand dismissively and said with a smile, ”Go take care of your business, then. We’ll be fine. Meeting up in Shazhou City works for us.”

”Then it’s a plan!” Before Li Qian could even respond, Fatty An eagerly chimed in from the side.

Li Qian only traveling with them to Yunlan City was definitely a good thing in his book. It meant more time to interact with their two female classmates.

If all four of them traveled together, the two beauties’ attention definitely wouldn’t be on him.

But now? This was a god-sent opportunity!

The group chatted and laughed, completely oblivious to a sinister gaze from the nearby waiting hall, fixed intently on them.
