Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 286: Chapter 259: Pleasant Surprise and Departure

After bantering with Fatty An for a while and going out for dinner together that evening, Li Qian finally had some free time.

He had finally finished his important tasks and could relax for a few days.

Aside from occasionally checking on the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle’s training, he spent the rest of his time sightseeing, resting, or visiting relatives and friends.

His family didn’t have many relatives in Lingshui City, but they knew quite a few people.

Taking advantage of his free time, he visited a few of his high school teachers, especially Chu Xiran and Zhu Bingqing, as well as Zhou Weiping from the Public Security Bureau.

Just like that, time flew by. On the evening of September 2nd, inside the Cultivation Base, Li Qian watched the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle still training hard in the Evolutionary Test Field and sighed helplessly.

He opened his mouth to comfort it, ”Don’t worry. Even after I leave, you can still train with Xiaohui.”

That’s right. Li Qian planned to leave the Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle, Xiaohui, at the Cultivation Base. In fact, aside from Qizai and Xiaoliu, he wasn’t planning on bringing any of his other Pet Beasts with him.

With his current Spiritual Power Level, he might be able to break into the Commander Level this semester, but he had many options for his next contract.

Both the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle and the Tidal Sea Spirit were potential contract candidates, as were other Pet Beasts he might research in the future.

Even if he really did want to form a contract with an Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle, it wasn’t like he was never coming back; he could always choose to do it when he came home for the holidays.

Leaving the Pet Beasts at the base not only allowed them to receive better training but also helped protect the base’s security.

A Pet Beast like Xiaohui, with Emperor Level Potential and a Power Level that had reached Commander, had quite formidable combat strength.

Finally, there was his father, Li Chengyang. If one ignored his Beast Taming Talent, since his own level was about to break into Commander, forming a contract wasn’t out of the question.

With a plan in mind, Li Qian continued without pausing, ”If you keep training, you might just meet the evolutionary requirements by the time I come back.”

”Worst-case scenario, even if you don’t have the talent to evolve into an Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle, don’t worry. I’ll definitely be able to research other types of Evolutionary Forms for the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle in the future.” Although he was comforting the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle, Li Qian could clearly see that its mood was still affected; it was a little listless.

He was very fond of the Gray Bean Dove that had been with him since it was young—oh, no, it was an Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle now. So if possible, he naturally hoped it could complete its evolution. But unfortunately, things just didn’t go as planned.

After comforting the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle for a bit, Li Qian didn’t linger any longer and headed straight back to Building One.

That night, Li Qian went to bed very early. In fact, it had been like this for the past few days. He had thought he could sleep soundly until dawn.

But unexpectedly, something happened in the middle of the night that woke him up.

To be precise, it was a good thing—a good thing that was completely beyond Li Qian’s expectations.

In the middle of the night, not far from Building One, two rather loud bird cries suddenly rang out.

”CHIRP! CHIRP!”

Since Building One was basically Li Qian’s personal research lab and lounge, and his parents, worried about disturbing his research, lived elsewhere—the Cultivation Base had plenty of houses, after all—the two rather loud bird cries only startled Li Qian awake and didn’t disturb anyone else.

Drowsily, Li Qian opened his sleepy eyes, walked over to the windowsill, and subconsciously looked outside.

At a glance, he quickly noticed a very familiar sight.

An Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle was hovering in mid-air just outside his window. Its figure flickered like a phantom before suddenly reappearing dozens of meters away in another part of the sky.

Besides this Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle, Li Qian also saw an Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle in the air not far away.

Without a doubt, these two Pet Beasts were Xiaohui and his mother’s Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle.

When he saw the two Pet Beasts, especially when he caught a glimpse of the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle using the ”Instant Movement” Skill, Li Qian couldn’t help but rub his eyes. He almost thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.

’How did Mother’s Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle master the ”Instant Movement” Skill?’

’During the day, judging by its training progress, it was clearly lagging far behind. You could even say it hadn’t even gotten its foot in the door.’

’It’s only been a few hours, and it’s already mastered this signature Space Element skill?’

Li Qian found it incredible. He shook his head subconsciously.

It wasn’t until he saw the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle use the ”Instant Movement” Skill again—disappearing right before his eyes and then abruptly reappearing in another part of his vision—that Li Qian was one hundred percent certain it was real.

”Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle, you actually mastered the ’Instant Movement’ Skill!” Li Qian couldn’t help but exclaim in delight after confirming that his mother’s Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle had learned the skill.

Even if, judging by its current performance, it wasn’t very skilled with it yet and its execution was a bit clumsy, as long as it had learned the basics, that was enough.

The Second-stage Evolution only required confirming whether the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle had a Space Talent; there was no requirement for proficiency with the ”Instant Movement” Skill.

Overjoyed, Li Qian no longer cared that its cries had disturbed his sleep.
