Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 281: Chapter 255: Future Plan 2

”How could she have applied to the same Beast Taming University as you if she isn’t interested in you?” his mother, Han Yuqing, insisted.

”Maybe it’s just a coincidence. Besides, a place like Shazhou Beast Taming University is one of the more remote of the Eight Greats. It probably offers good value, so they most likely applied for that reason,” Li Qian explained wearily.

His father, Li Chengyang, chuckled and said matter-of-factly, ”Son, are you feeling torn, finding it hard to choose? It’s fine. As long as you work hard and become an Emperor Level Beast Master in the future, you can just marry them both.”

”COUGH, COUGH, COUGH...” Li Qian nearly choked on his own spit.

’Come to think of it, the laws in this Beast Taming World were strange. Once you reached a certain level of power, the institution of marriage could be bent.’

’Normally, it was a monogamous system, but if either spouse advanced to the Emperor Level, they could choose an additional partner.’

’It was a bizarre, strange, and utterly unbelievable system. When Li Qian first heard about it, he couldn’t help but marvel at its strangeness.’

’According to the official explanation, this was to perpetuate purer and rarer Beast Taming Talents.’

’From that perspective, it didn’t seem completely absurd. He just never expected his own mother to one day apply the idea to him.’

’The worst part was, his mother, Han Yuqing, had said it with a completely straight face, leaving him at a loss for whether to laugh or cry.’

Not wanting to get dragged any further into the conversation with his parents, Li Qian found an excuse. ”Mom, Dad, I’ve got to go. I still have to train the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle, so I can’t chat.” And with that, he left Building One.

He was so eager to leave because he was worried what other shocking, dramatic things they might come up with if he stayed.

So, since he couldn’t win, he could only retreat. It wasn’t that he was deliberately avoiding the subject, just that he felt there was no need to be so forceful about it. It was better to let things happen naturally.

Arriving at the training grounds, Li Qian watched the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle still training tirelessly and shook his head in resignation.

By now, he was 70 to 80 percent sure that the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle did not possess a spatial Talent.

But since it wasn’t the last day yet, he had no plans to give up. He couldn’t quit now, not even if there was only a sliver of hope left.

After giving the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle some encouragement, Li Qian went to check on the Sparrow-tailed Fish, the Hundred Vines Monster, the White Fox, and the Chicken Hair couple.

After making his rounds, a general plan had already started to form in Li Qian’s mind.

He was about to leave for Shazhou Beast Taming University, so he couldn’t just let the Jiaoyang Cultivation Base develop without direction.

It needed a plan. With his mind made up, Li Qian wasted no time and found An Hou Nian that afternoon.

”Aside from the existing Koi Carp, we also need to raise more Gray Bean Doves. Now that I’ve mastered the evolution methods for the Extreme Fierce Storm Eagle, and by extension the Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle, we definitely need to focus on developing them.”

Li Qian didn’t waste time and stated his thoughts directly. ”In addition, there are the Pearl Buds and Red Feather Chickens.”

”The evolution method from Pearl Bud to Golden Pearl Bud has already been made public, so completing that evolution isn’t difficult.”

”Likewise, I’ve also mastered the evolution path from Golden Pearl Bud to Tidal Sea Spirit, so we definitely need to be prepared for that.”

He continued without a pause, ”Finally, there are the Molten Rock Worms and Red Feather Chickens. These will be my main research focus next. In short, there’s no harm in raising more of these Pet Beasts.”

”Aside from raising Pet Beasts, we also need to continue expanding the scale of our Jiaoyang Cultivation Base. It would be best if we could link it up with the amusement park over there...”

As they talked, Li Qian laid out his entire plan for the Cultivation Base’s future in one go.

An Hou Nian nodded repeatedly as he listened to Li Qian’s plan. He maintained a calm expression on the surface, but inwardly, his mind was reeling.

The shock he felt was no less than what Han Yuqing and Li Chengyang had experienced when they first heard of these accomplishments.

’It had been such a short time, yet he already had such astonishing results.’ At that moment, An Hou Nian was filled with nothing but admiration and a sense of profound luck.

He was thankful that he had struck a deal with Li Qian when he was still a ”Hidden Dragon in the Abyss,” allowing him to latch onto such a powerful benefactor. If all went well, the An Family would benefit from this for decades to come.

Snapping out of his thoughts, An Hou Nian committed Li Qian’s words to memory, preparing to set things in motion the very next day.

After discussing the Cultivation Base’s future with An Hou Nian and seeing that they had covered all the important matters, Li Qian casually asked about Fatty An.

An Hou Nian smiled as he described his son’s situation. As Li Qian listened, the corner of his mouth couldn’t help but twitch.

Unsurprisingly, the guy’s college entrance exam scores were very average. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t much to look at either, just barely passing.

With scores like that, he should have had absolutely no chance of getting into a good Beast Taming University, let alone one of the Eight Greats.

And yet, thanks to all sorts of miscellaneous boosts, he had actually been granted special admission into Shazhou Beast Taming University.

The biggest factor was probably him blurting out to the Shazhou Beast Taming University admissions officer, ”Li Qian is my brother!”

His occasional calls to pester Elder Tie probably played a role, too. And in the end, of course, there was the power of money. The An Family had paid a considerable price.

Of course, as long as you could reach your destination, any cost was worthwhile.

Li Qian was completely stunned when he first heard the news. ’What is happening to this world? How can something so ridiculous happen?’

’For a slacker like Fatty An to actually get into Shazhou Beast Taming University was truly incredible.’

With Fatty An accepted into Shazhou Beast Taming University, on top of Class President Tu Jiaojiao and Li Lanying, it meant that the trip to Shazhou City wouldn’t just be three people anymore. It would be four.

At this thought, a hint of a smile appeared on Li Qian’s face. With Fatty An around, the trip to Shazhou City would be at least somewhat less awkward.

’Still, going to the same Beast Taming University as Fatty An felt... strange. It was as if Shazhou Beast Taming University had instantly dropped a tier in prestige.’

”Something this huge, and that guy actually managed to keep it from me!” Li Qian was both delighted and a little surprised.

”He only just got the confirmation himself. They probably didn’t fill all their spots, so he was a late admission,” An Hou Nian chuckled, explaining for Fatty An. ”He probably wanted to give you a surprise.”

”It’s certainly a huge surprise,” Li Qian laughed along. Regardless of all the unexpected factors and coincidences, the fact was that Fatty An had gotten into Shazhou Beast Taming University.

Li Qian was naturally happy for Fatty An. It was just a shame that since getting the news, the guy had been so excited that he’d gone out to run wild.

He probably wouldn’t be back for another day or two.

When that happened, Li Qian planned to make him treat him to a good meal.

After they finished discussing the future plans for the Cultivation Base, the two of them drove away from the facility and headed toward the abandoned amusement park.

Unlike before, when they had only purchased the water slide, An Hou Nian had used his personal connections and some help from the Public Security Bureau over the past two months to successfully resolve the amusement park’s property rights dispute, finally managing to acquire the entire abandoned place.

In less than two months, seeing it again, the place had undergone a world-shaking transformation.

The amusement park had been bought and renovated. However, the building was no longer an amusement park. It was now... the Jiaoyang Pet Beast Laboratory.
