Chapter 684: Chapter 684: I’m Not Arrogant, It’s Strength!_1

Xu Wannian was very clear about the strength of the Flying Eagle Special Combat Squadron, which was the super special warfare brigade that had once eliminated another one of the Five Great Special Warfare Brigades with a loss of a hundred men.

But now, having lost over three hundred men, they had managed to eliminate just over a thousand from Long Ya, even when the elite company had not been deployed.

Doesn’t this mean that the Long Ya warriors, excluding the elite company, could already hold their own? Without deploying the elite company, could Long Ya still take down one of the big teams from the Five Great Special Warfare Brigades?

”Old Zhang, I’ve seen the training cultivation technique of General Instructor Jiang, and it is very powerful, but, don’t tell me they’ve achieved this level just by relying on that!” Xu Wannian solemnly looked at Zhang Zijian.

Zhang Zijian chuckled: ”Although General Instructor Jiang was only training the elite company, he gave us a detailed training outline, which complemented the training cultivation technique.”

”You... why didn’t you give it to me!” Xu Wannian glared with wide eyes.

Zhang Zijian glanced at Xu Wannian: ”I’ve already submitted it, the old masters above should have started discussing it already, right?”

”This... how do I not know about it?” Xu Wannian said with a confused face.

Zhang Zijian sneered: ”How could you possibly know, I only had the staff report it after the battle started.”

”You... you old fellow, are you really treating us Flying Eagles as the enemy?” Xu Wannian asked with a smile.

Zhang Zijian glared at Xu Wannian: ”I’m telling you, if Long Ya really gets disbanded because of your Flying Eagles, you Flying Eagles will be the enemies of our Dongfang Zone!”

Xu Wannian blinked and quickly skipped over this topic. He suspected that if the topic continued, the hot-tempered Zhang Zijian would engage in a real-life PK with him.

Despite his confident smile now, the fist clenched tightly betrayed his inner tension, something Xu Wannian, who had been comrades with Zhang Zijian for most of their lives, could see.

”Old Zhang, although Long Ya’s combat power has increased a lot, but... the elite company still hasn’t taken action, isn’t that a bit too arrogant?”

Xu Wannian glanced at the distribution of lights on the screen with a slight worry, he did not want Long Ya to be disbanded either; he knew very well that if Long Ya were disbanded, it would be akin to taking his old comrade’s life!

”Of course we can do it! It won’t be too arrogant!” The confidence in Zhang Zijian’s eyes turned illusory, and a trace of worry he could no longer control slipped out.

At that moment, on the drill battlefield, Long Jianfei, the commander of the Flying Eagle Brigade, looked at the battle situation report in front of him and then nodded vigorously: ”Long Ya is worthy of its name, even in death they managed to take a large bite out of us, but that’s about it.”

Having said that, he glanced at the people of the Flying Eagle Special Combat Squadron beside him with complex expressions and spoke in a low shout: ”The most respectful way to honor the enemy is to give your all. We must defeat Long Ya and keep their memory alive in our hearts! Continue the battle!”

”Yes!”

The members of Flying Eagle responded loudly and threw themselves back into the battle.

However, their hearts were not as calm as their faces suggested, they knew they would absolutely not hold back.

Because holding back would be an insult to Flying Eagle, and an insult to Long Ya!

Seeing his warriors’ high morale, Long Jianfei smiled slightly and then turned to head towards the drill directorate.

...

In the temporary directorate, Zhang Zijian and Xu Wannian were staring intently at the operational combat screen.

On the screen, the green dots representing Long Ya had disappeared, only the bunch of green dots that hadn’t moved since the beginning of the battle remained. Those were Long Ya’s elite troops.

At this moment, the red dots representing Flying Eagle were surrounding those green dots.

”Report!” A shout rose at the doorway.

Xu Wannian turned his head, glanced over, and spoke in a soft voice, ”Come in.”

Tap tap tap!

Shen Xiangtian and Long Jianfei took steps and walked into the directorate.

”Report, I have a request,” Shen Xiangtian said to Zhang Zijian, looking up at him and speaking loudly.

Zhang Zijian turned his head and glared fiercely at Shen Xiangtian, speaking with annoyance, ”Speak up if you have something to say, or fart if you have to.”

Shen Xiangtian glanced at the screen in front of Zhang Zijian and spoke softly, ”I would like to request the two commanders to order the battle to end within an hour. After it ends, the side with more remaining personnel wins!”

Everybody in the directorate was stunned; they all looked up at Shen Xiangtian in unison.

Now the Flying Eagle had more people, and Long Ya had fewer. Moreover, Long Ya’s people were gathered in one spot, and though the Flying Eagle was encircling them, they were spread out in a fan shape. If they now did as Shen Xiangtian suggested, it would be extremely unfavorable for Long Ya!

”Are you fucking crazy?!”

Zhang Zijian sprang up from his chair, pointing at Shen Xiangtian’s nose and cursing loudly.

Shen Xiangtian smiled confidently, looking straight into Zhang Zijian’s eyes, ”Commander, I’m not crazy. Long Ya is the best of special forces. Today, we will display the elegance befitting the best of special forces. Today is the moment Long Ya takes back that title. If we’re to take it, we must do so impressively, leaving all those who doubt Long Ya speechless!”

”Are... are you serious?” Xu Wannian asked with a smile.

He was also well aware of Shen Xiangtian’s feelings for Long Ya; to put it bluntly, Shen Xiangtian’s devotion to Long Ya was to the point of life and death. However, Shen Xiangtian still made such a request, which Xu Wannian found hard to comprehend.

”Yes, I am serious. Please approve my request, Commander!” Shen Xiangtian ignored Xu Wannian and gave Zhang Zijian a military salute, saying with a determined expression.

Zhang Zijian nearly couldn’t resist kicking Shen Xiangtian, but then he thought of Shen Xiangtian’s sentiments for Long Ya. His eyebrows furrowed tightly, he remained silent, merely staring intensely at the green dots on the screen beside him.

”Xiao Shen, don’t be impulsive. Although there aren’t many of Long Ya left, we might still win,” Xu Wannian tried to persuade him again.

Shen Xiangtian finally looked at Xu Wannian, smiled gently, ”Commander Xu, it’s not that we might win, it’s that we will definitely win!”

”Shen Xiangtian, you’re too confident!” Long Jianfei frowned.

Xu Wannian also nodded and smiled, ”Yes, Xiao Shen, you’re too confident.”

”I am not confident; it’s a fact,” Shen Xiangtian retorted.

Shen Xiangtian glanced at Xu Wannian, turned his head towards Long Jianfei, and smiled faintly, ”Today, our elite company of Long Ya hasn’t even made a move yet. Aside from giving other brothers from Long Ya a chance, it was also to save some face for you Flying Eagles, so you wouldn’t lose too badly.”

”Shen Xiangtian!”

Long Jianfei became angry, ”You’re too arrogant!”

”I am not arrogant; it’s strength,” Shen Xiangtian remained calm.

Shen Xiangtian continued indifferently, ”If you knew about our elite company, you would understand. Our elite company has nine Heavenly Peak Martial Artists and one hundred Earth Level Martial Artists.”

As the words ended, everyone was instantly shocked!
