Chapter 672: 672 Chapter We Want to Foster Good Karma_1

Leng Ye knew very well why the Dark Night Queen had sent her, and she also understood the importance of Jiang Chen to them.

If Jiang Chen drove her away because he didn’t trust her, she would have no way to explain it to the Dark Night Queen, let alone to their entire race.

After all, Jiang Chen might be their race’s last hope.

”Mr. Jiang, please believe me, I truly have no ill intentions!” Leng Ye urgently spoke, with a pleading look in her eyes.

Jiang Chen was surprised for a moment, somewhat puzzled. Why was she so eager to protect Jing Yi? With the status of the Dark Night Queen, there shouldn’t be anything she needed to beg from him, right?

”I can’t trust you,” Jiang Chen pondered for a moment, then gently shook his head. He couldn’t allow an unpredictable factor to stay by Ye Jingyi’s side.

Thump!

Desperate, Leng Ye knelt on the ground and pleaded, ”Mr. Jiang, I really have no ill intentions. My staying here is only to form a good relationship with you, in the hope that when you grow up, you can lend a hand to our race. Please let me stay.”

Jiang Chen and the other two were taken aback, staring at Leng Ye with astonished faces.

”Help you? What exactly are you talking about?” Jiang Chen was thoroughly confused by Leng Ye. He could tell she indeed bore no hostility, but that only made him less understanding of the situation. What was going on?

”Mr. Jiang, I can’t tell you now. Your current strength is not yet sufficient. When you grow up, she will surely explain it to you personally. Please, you must believe me, I really have no ill intentions.”

Leng Ye was close to tears; their race had waited for a thousand years and finally, Jiang Chen had appeared—their last hope. If they had to wait any longer, their race might face extinction; they could not wait any longer.

Jiang Chen’s expression became grave. He heard something in Leng Ye’s words; seemingly, the Dark Night Queen and her race needed his help, but his strength was not yet enough to assist them.

Thus, they wanted to establish goodwill with him now, so they could seek his help when he grew up. But why him?

”Jiang Chen,” Ye Jingyi glanced at Leng Ye, who knelt on the ground looking pitiable, and softly said, ”I think Leng Ye really has no ill intentions. If she wanted to harm me, she wouldn’t have waited until now.”

”I know, I thought of that too, but...” A hesitant look flashed in Jiang Chen’s eyes.

”Let Leng Ye stay by my side!” Ye Jingyi tugged at Jiang Chen’s hand and whispered, ”I’d like to have a sister to keep me company, and I get along quite well with Leng Ye.”

”But...” Jiang Chen started to speak, then stopped himself. He was genuinely concerned; Ye Jingyi was too important to him, and he didn’t want her to be in any sort of danger!

”I trust her!” Ye Jingyi spoke again, her gaze firmly fixed on Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen looked at Ye Jingyi and nodded helplessly, ”Alright, I hope I won’t regret today’s decision.”

He gave Leng Ye a deep look and then turned to Yan Hu, ”Yan Hu, from today on, whenever I am not by Jing Yi’s side, you must stick with her and ensure her safety.”

”Yes!” Yan Hu answered loudly. There was something Jiang Chen didn’t say, but Yan Hu understood—it was to be vigilant of Leng Ye!

Relieved, Leng Ye took a deep breath and looked at Ye Jingyi with grateful eyes.

Ye Jingyi smiled slightly and walked towards Leng Ye.

Jiang Chen’s eyebrows rose slightly, just as he was about to speak to stop her, but then he closed his mouth, and a faint red glow emanated from the Blood Saber in his hand.

Yan Hu was also fully alert, watching Leng Ye with guarded eyes. If Leng Ye dared to make any move to harm Ye Jingyi, she would immediately face the fiercest attacks from both Jiang Chen and Yan Hu!

”Miss Ye, thank you!” Leng Ye looked at Ye Jingyi gratefully. She was very clear that if it weren’t for Ye Jingyi speaking on her behalf, Jiang Chen would’ve definitely driven her away!

Ye Jingyi extended her hand to help Leng Ye up, chuckling lightly, ”Don’t mind him, this guy is just a bit too sensitive.”

”Mr. Jiang is not wrong!” Leng Ye held the information about Ye Jingyi in her hands. She knew that Ye Jingyi had been hurt before and also knew that what Jiang Chen cared about most was Ye Jingyi; therefore, she did not blame Jiang Chen for his suspicions of her.

Clang!

The Blood Saber sheathed, Jiang Chen looked emotionlessly at Leng Ye, ”Since Jing Yi is willing to allow you to stay, it’s not my place to say otherwise, but listen carefully, if Jing Yi gets hurt, I, Jiang Chen, swear to use the rest of my life, if need be, to annihilate the Dark Night Angel!”

Leng Ye’s heart shuddered violently. In Jiang Chen’s eyes, she saw the cold intent to kill, a surge of murderous aura like Blood Sea Overwhelms the Heavens. She believed that if Ye Jingyi were to come to harm because of her, Jiang Chen would indeed eradicate the Dark Night Angel without mercy!

The reason Jiang Chen agreed to let Leng Ye stay, apart from Ye Jingyi’s intervention, was also because his interactions with the Dark Night Angel abroad had been fairly pleasant. Furthermore, even with his attitude at the Grand Beast Arena, the Dark Night Angel had not turned against him.

When Long Ya fought with Burst Flame, the Dark Night Queen herself came to the scene. They said they were just there to watch, but Jiang Chen had a feeling that if he had been at a disadvantage at that moment, they might have intervened to help him.

The Dark Night Angel gave him the impression that they were constantly sending signals of goodwill.

Of course, there was another important factor: if the Dark Night Angel wanted to kill him, to destroy his power, it would not need to be so complicated. With the power of the Dark Night Angel, a single strike would be enough to wipe out Long Yan, and it was very likely he would die at the hands of the Dark Night Queen.

It was these thoughts that led him to agree to let Leng Ye stay. However, he couldn’t understand why the Dark Night Angel would show goodwill towards him. What exactly did the words Leng Ye said mean?

Shaking his head, Jiang Chen discarded the doubts from his mind and gave Yan Hu a significant glance.

Yan Hu nodded slightly, and glanced at Leng Ye with a profound look, ”Miss Leng, now that we are back at the house, you’re safe. Isn’t it time for you to go out with me?”

”Okay.” Leng Ye nodded lightly and walked towards the door. Not being driven away was already the biggest stroke of luck for her, and she didn’t dare hope that Jiang Chen would fully trust her at this point.

”Jiang Chen, I feel that Leng Ye isn’t a bad person.” After glancing at the door Yan Hu had closed as she left, Ye Jingyi turned her head towards Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen wrapped his arms around Ye Jingyi, saying softly, ”I also feel she’s not a bad person, but I won’t allow any threat to come near you, even if there’s just a slight chance, I must eradicate it! I’ve already almost lost you once, I don’t want to...”

At that point, a fearful look appeared in Jiang Chen’s eyes, and he found it hard to continue.

”Silly, I’m fine now, aren’t I?” Ye Jingyi stretched out her hand to touch Jiang Chen’s face, her eyes full of deep affection.

Jiang Chen smiled tenderly, lowering his head to kiss Ye Jingyi’s rosy lips.

That night, the bedroom became the battleground of an intense struggle, with Ye Jingyi completely defeated. Satisfied, Jiang Chen held Ye Jingyi tightly in his arms as they both drifted off to sleep.
