Chapter 577: Chapter 577 You’ve Been Eliminated_1

On the helicopter, Shen Xiangtian said with pride:

”The ones below are the three hundred carefully selected members of our Dragon Tooth Special Combat Team, and the hundred elites from the entire Dongfang Zone. For this training session, we’ve even recalled soldiers who had been discharged for less than a year to participate in the selection!”

”Hey, Old Shen,” after some exchanges during the flight, Shen Xiangtian had become Old Shen in Jiang Chen’s speech: ”Look at that proud look on your face. If you’re so proud, then why are you still at the bottom of the national special forces rankings?”

Shen Xiangtian choked for a moment. Jiang Chen’s words were truly a stab to the heart, and he glared fiercely at Jiang Chen.

After getting to know each other better, Shen Xiangtian didn’t want to maintain the same formalities as before: ”Mr. Jiang, you should pay attention. If you can’t get these guys to respect you, then the training won’t be able to proceed. If by chance you still need me to step in to help you manage the scene, then you would really lose face!”

”Heh!” Jiang Chen smiled faintly, glanced below, and said softly, ”Almost there!”

As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang Chen unbuckled his safety belt and stood at the edge of the helicopter’s cabin door.

”Oh my!”

”Mr. Jiang!”

Shen Xiangtian and Chen Jiantao both exclaimed in shock.

”Mr. Jiang, what are you doing? Be careful you don’t fall!” Chen Jiantao hurriedly warned.

Jiang Chen turned his head to look at both men, smiled and said, ”That’s exactly what I want to do—to fall.”

”Huh?” Chen Jiantao was stunned for a moment, not catching the meaning behind Jiang Chen’s words.

Shen Xiangtian looked dumbfounded and said, ”Mr. Jiang, you’re not thinking of jumping down from here, are you? We are almost a hundred meters in the air.”

”Why not jump? I’ve always wanted to try it; I just never had the opportunity,” Jiang Chen raised an eyebrow and turned around to jump out of the cabin door.

”Mr. Jiang!”

”Mr. Jiang!”

Shen Xiangtian and others grabbed the safety rope and ran desperately to the cabin door, only to see Jiang Chen falling freely like a projectile, plunging straight toward the training ground.

”It looks like someone is jumping down!”

”Ah! Someone is really jumping down!”

”Oh no, is that person crazy? The plane is still a hundred meters in the air!”

”Has he gone mad? Who is that guy?”

A wave of panic and shouting arose from the training ground, and everyone looked up at Jiang Chen descending towards the field, their gaze following his rapidly falling body.

Bang!

A loud thud echoed, and a cloud of dust rose, with Jiang Chen plummeting right between the two formations.

”Ah!”

”Oh no!”

”Cough cough!”

The dust stirred up by Jiang Chen’s landing drifted into the two formations, causing everyone to cry out and cough incessantly.

Humm!

An intense oppressive force suddenly appeared, pressing down hard on both formations.

”What’s going on?!”

”Careful!”

”Enemy attack!”

Chants and shouts broke out as the two large formations reacted. The formation of three hundred veterans neatly snapped into a triangular formation, with Bao Xiong at the front and Feng Lang and Xie Long behind him. The three formed the tip of a spearhead, fully alert and focused toward Jiang Chen’s direction.

The formation of a hundred new recruits was somewhat orderly, but they were clustered into groups for cylindrical defense, rather than considering the entire formation as a unit. Three youths, just like Bao Xiong and his two companions, formed a spearhead and positioned themselves closest to Jiang Chen within their formation.

Humm!

The pressure increased once again, and everyone’s faces changed. Bao Xiong and the other five warriors closest to Jiang Chen bent their bodies in response.

”Drink!”

Bao Xiong and two others cried out loudly, suddenly standing upright and staring coldly at Jiang Chen, whose figure was still obscured by smoke and dust.

Whoosh whoosh!

Two figures dashed out, as the other two elders bypassed Jiang Chen and rushed to the front of the new recruits’ triangular spearhead formation, helping to withstand Jiang Chen’s pressure.

Thump! Thump!

Sounds of heavy falls rose one after another, and everyone’s faces changed. Warriors from both formations fell to the ground in varying numbers, their bodies drenched in cold sweat and their faces pale.

Rumble rumble rumble!

The roar grew closer, and the helicopter landed on an open space nearby. Shen Xiangtian and Chen Jiantao hurried over.

”All those on the ground, eliminated!”

A detached voice echoed from the midst of the smoke and dust. It wasn’t loud, but reached everyone’s ears. The fallen soldiers’ faces changed drastically, and they looked up unwillingly toward the center.

Jiang Chen waved his hand, and the smoke quickly dispersed to reveal his figure. Without so much as glancing at the warriors, Jiang Chen walked up to Shen Xiangtian and said, ”Old Shen, are these the elites you’ve picked out? Out of four hundred, only two hundred thirty-seven could withstand the first challenge? Do they even deserve to be called elites? No wonder your Dragon Tooth is always at the bottom in the Special Combat Team’s competitions!”

Shen Xiangtian’s face changed, and his brows furrowed tightly. However, when he caught the deeper meaning in Jiang Chen’s eyes, he instantly understood Jiang Chen’s purpose and nodded his head in gratitude.

What Jiang Chen was doing was to arouse the pride and guilt in the hearts of the Dragon Tooth warriors. Jiang Chen’s dramatic arrival from the sky was meant to show off his abilities and to completely win these people over.

But complete obedience was not the best mindset for training. The best mindset should combine respect for the training methods with discontent about one’s own weakness. Only with absolute trust in the training methods and absolute refusal to accept being weaker than any opponent can one improve more effectively and efficiently during training.

The moment Jiang Chen descended from the helicopter, the training had already begun!

Realizing this, Shen Xiangtian felt grateful and his confidence in the outcome of this training increased substantially!

Tap tap tap!

Shen Xiangtian stepped forward to the two formations, glanced over the soldiers, and said loudly, ”Those who fell, step out!”

Rustle rustle rustle!

A rustling of footsteps ensued as over a hundred people walked out from the formations and lined up in four rows in front of Shen Xiangtian.

”You can join Long Ya, but you can no longer join the elite Special Combat Squad,” Shen Xiangtian said, then turned his head and called out, ”Chen Jiantao.”

”Present!” Chen Jiantao replied loudly, jogging to Shen Xiangtian’s side.

Shen Xiangtian said in a serious voice, ”Take them away, and assign them to other teams.”

”Yes!” Chen Jiantao responded and turned to face the crowd.

”Report! Why eliminate us?”

”Report! Team leader, I don’t accept this!”

”Report...”

A chorus of protests rose, as all those who had stepped out spoke up in discontent.

Jiang Chen walked up to Shen Xiangtian and said indifferently, ”Why do you think you have the right to be dissatisfied?”

”So young?!”

”Was it him who jumped from the helicopter earlier?”

”He’s so young!”

Realizing Jiang Chen’s youth, the crowd burst into an uproar.

”Jiang Chen?!” An incredulous exclamation arose; Chen Jianlin stood among the new recruits in the formation, his face filled with shock as he looked at Jiang Chen.
