Medic Martial Dragon King

At this moment, inside the hospital’s emergency room, just after Jiang Chen and the other left, a middle-aged man rushed over with the security guards.

”What’s going on? What are you all doing?” the middle-aged man demanded.

The doctor glanced at the medical record in his hands, then looked up at the middle-aged man, ”Director Lu, just now a young man...”

After explaining the situation and telling the story, the doctor handed the medical record to Director Lu of the hospital.

Director Lu furrowed his brows—as someone with unknown credentials had appeared in his hospital to treat a patient. What if something had gone wrong?

”Call the police immediately,” Director Lu said gravely.

But just then, a chorus of astonished cries came from where the patient was.

”Oh my God, he’s actually stabilized! The patient’s condition is stable now! The bleeding has stopped as well!”

”How can such a severe injury be stabilized so quickly?”

”That young man just now was amazing; a few injections and he stabilized the patient’s condition.”

”Incredible!”

Director Lu and the others turned their heads and saw that the young man lying on the stretcher was no longer bleeding, and color was gradually returning to his face.

The doctor beside him was taken aback for a moment, a sigh of relief in his heart—so the young man really was saving someone!

Director Lu also breathed a sigh of relief and stepped forward, examining the patient’s name closely. He suddenly paused, then took a careful look at the young man on the stretcher, and his eyes lit up.

Cheng Jianbin?! Isn’t this the young master of the Cheng Family from Jinhai?

If our hospital manages to cure Master Cheng, the Cheng Family will surely be grateful to me and the hospital.

This is indeed a significant achievement!

With a quick glance, Director Lu barked, ”What are you all clamoring about? What young man? There was no young man here; this person was saved by our own hospital. The credit belongs to all of us, understand?”

”...Oh, understood.” The group of doctors and nurses hesitated for a moment, then caught on, parroting in unison. Whatever that young man was, since the Director said it was our success, then it was our success. After all, it wasn’t a bad thing.

”Move the patient to the VIP ward, quick!” Director Lu called out, and the crowd hurriedly wheeled Cheng Jianbin to the VIP ward.

The doctor entrusted by Jiang Chen followed into the ward, glanced at Cheng Jianbin on the bed, furrowed his brows slightly, then approached the Director and whispered: ”But Director, the young man just now said that the patient still needs to be medicated, otherwise there might be...”

”Shut up!”

The doctor hadn’t finished speaking when Director Lu cut him off sharply, ”Is our big hospital not as good as some kid? Stop making trouble, Dr. Liu. I’m telling you, this patient is the young master from the Cheng Family of Jinhai, the Cheng Family, the leading clan of Jinhai! If the Cheng Family is grateful to our hospital for this, do you know how much benefit we could gain? If you dare spoil this for me, I’ll fire you on the spot!”

With that, Director Lu glared fiercely at the tactless doctor.

Dr. Liu was stunned into silence, not daring to speak further.

”Where is my son?” At that moment, an urgent cry rang out. Director Lu’s eyes lit up, and he hurriedly ran out of the ward.

In the hallway, a stout middle-aged man accompanied by a group of people was looking around. Director Lu’s face lit up with joy—the leader was none other than Cheng Jianbin’s father, Family Head Cheng Zhiqiang.

”President Cheng, over here, Master Cheng is in this ward,” Director Lu called out eagerly.

Hearing this, Cheng Zhiqiang hurriedly ran toward Director Lu, who with a big smile welcomed Cheng into the ward.

Upon reaching the ward, Cheng Zhiqiang anxiously glanced at his son and then turned to Director Lu, ”Director Lu, how is my son doing?”

”Rest assured, Mr. Cheng,” said Director Lu with a smile, ”after our hospital’s determined rescue efforts, the young master has pulled through the critical period. All he needs now is a good rest.”

Cheng Zhiqiang let out a sigh of relief and laughed heartily, ”Good, good, good! You are the hospital I trust, and it’s all thanks to Director Lu and your team. Thank you all. Here, give Director Lu a red envelope of one million first! Later, I will make a donation to your hospital to express my gratitude.”

Director Lu was overjoyed, taking the one million check offered by someone at Cheng Zhiqiang’s side; he felt like he was flying high.

He thought his decision was brilliant. What was it but a young man’s credit being usurped? Now, not only had he pocketed one million for himself, but the Cheng Family would also make a donation later, which was bound to be an eight-figure sum at least.

Dr. Liu opened his mouth as if to speak but, remembering the warning from the director, ultimately said nothing.

”Beep beep beep—”

Suddenly, a sharp alarm sounded. Director Lu and the others turned their heads to look, and were instantly shocked.

The monitors on Cheng Jianbin’s bedside table were blaring alarms, many vital signs including heart rate, all in disarray, plummeting off a cliff.

”Quick, to the emergency room!” Director Lu panicked immediately, having just boasted moments ago.

Dr. Liu and the others quickly pushed Cheng Jianbin towards the emergency room.

Cheng Zhiqiang’s face turned pale, and he followed with his people to the door of the emergency room, waiting anxiously, with Director Lu hardly daring to breathe as he stood by.

”Ding—” The light in the emergency room went on for a brief moment before going off again; Dr. Liu and a few other doctors came out.

”How is it going?” Director Lu asked urgently.

Dr. Liu removed his mask, his face filled with worry, shook his head, and said, ”No good, the injuries have become more severe. It’s getting very... very difficult to save him.”

”What?” Cheng Zhiqiang, upon hearing this, became furious: ”What the hell is going on? How can you not treat my son when you were able to save him from the brink of death before?”

”I...” Dr. Liu was at a loss for words.

Cheng Zhiqiang then turned and lashed out at Director Lu, ”Lu Mingda, you personally go and operate on my son, now!”

”Yes, yes, yes,” Director Lu nodded hastily, joining Dr. Liu and the others as they re-entered the operating room.

Cheng Zhiqiang glanced once at the light in the operating room, then turned to the middle-aged man beside him, ”Butler Wu, do you think... Bin’er, he...”

”Master, please be assured,” Butler Wu consoled Cheng Zhiqiang, ”the young master is blessed with good fortune, he will be alright.”

This time, the light in the operating room remained on for several hours before it turned off, and the sky had already darkened completely.

The doors of the operating room opened, and Lu Mingda, Dr. Liu, and the others came out.

”How did it go?” Cheng Zhiqiang immediately rushed to Lu Mingda.

Lu Mingda’s expression had collapsed completely, he glanced nervously at Cheng Zhiqiang and said anxiously, ”I’m sorry, Mr. Cheng, we, we did everything we could!”

”What do you mean?” Cheng Zhiqiang grabbed Lu Mingda by the collar, his face going pale as he spoke, ”What are you saying? Don’t tell me my son, my son, he...”

Lu Mingda saw that Cheng Zhiqiang had misunderstood and hurriedly explained, ”Mr. Cheng, the young master has not died, it’s just... his injuries are too severe; we can’t treat them.”

”Can’t treat them? Weren’t you able to cure my son’s critical condition at the start? I specifically had him transferred to your hospital from another one!” Cheng Zhiqiang roared angrily.

At this point, Butler Wu also became anxious and shouted forcefully at Lu Mingda, ”You’ve just accepted a million from our master. If our young master dies, everyone here will have to be buried along with him, and your whole hospital will pay for it.”

At that moment, Lu Mingda completely crumbled.
