”Oh, you’re here too! What brings you? Came to see my son start his new position?”

Zhou Qian looked at Zhou Ru and the other two with a proud and coquettish expression, ”Why weren’t you this concerned about our family affairs before? Now that my son is successful, you’re all eager to congratulate him? Are you also trying to bask in our Zhang Tao’s glory?”

Zhang Tao patted his mother’s shoulder and looked at Ye Jingyi with arrogance, ”Cousin Jingyi, from now on, I’ll be at the Jinhai head office. We’re all relatives, so if you ever need a loan or something, you can come to me, I can take care of you.”

After glancing at Jiang Chen, Zhang Tao didn’t hide the disdain in his eyes, ”But why are you here too? Let me tell you, even if you married Cousin Jingyi, I wouldn’t accept you as my brother-in-law. What are you anyway, thinking you’re worthy of being my brother-in-law?”

”Zhang Tao, you’ve got it wrong, we’re not here to congratulate you, we’re here to sign the contract for the loan interest rate reduction and extension!” Ye Jingyi slightly frowned, the arrogance of Zhang Tao and his mother was very off-putting to her.

Zhou Qian glared, ”Signing a contract? Isn’t that still mooching off my son? How come as soon as my son starts working here, you come to sign contracts? Ungrateful, that’s what you are.”

”Exactly, don’t you know your own family situation? Would Wanguo Bank take the initiative to contact you to sign a loan interest rate reduction and extension contract? It’s definitely because they know you’re my relatives that they decided to give you the interest rate reduction and extension. Not only do you not repay the favor, but you don’t even bother to congratulate us, what kind of people are you?” Zhang Tao looked at Ye Jingyi with a look of disgust.

Jiang Chen slightly frowned, Zhang Tao’s words about Ye Jingyi were really annoying to him.

”Little sister, why are you arguing with a child? We’re all one family,” Zhou Ru glanced at Ye Jingyi with a frown and then turned to Zhou Qian with a smile on her face.

This Zhang Tao was about to start working at Jinhai head office; they might need his help in the future.

”Alright, in consideration of family ties, once the bank people arrive, I’ll have a word for you, you’ll definitely be able to sign the contract quickly. My son was invited to work at the head office, so they have to give us some face!” Zhou Qian said generously, speaking as if she was bestowing a favor.

Jiang Chen looked at Zhou Qian and felt annoyed. Standing up, he walked to the door of the resting room and yelled into the hall, ”What kind of service attitude is this? It’s terrible! Where is everyone?”

”Jiang Chen, what are you doing?”

Zhou Qian’s face changed as she saw Jiang Chen make a scene and she berated, ”Have you lost your mind? This is the Jinhai head office; we need to wait quietly, what’s the issue with a little neglect? You bumpkin, have you never been in a place like this before? They are the lords here, and we are the servants! If you mess around and our contract falls through, that’s one thing, but if my son’s job is compromised, I’ll fight you to the end!”

Zhou Ru was also startled and rebuked with a dark expression, ”Jiang Chen, behave yourself! Bringing you here was for you to see how things are done, not for you to throw a tantrum. Have you looked in the mirror to see what you’re worth? If this contract falls through and we can’t get the reward from the family, I’ll deal with you!”

”Jiang Chen, come back and sit down!” Ye Jingyi frowned and glared at Jiang Chen, she also thought that his attitude was inappropriate.

”What’s all the shouting about?” A bank staff member entered the resting room, frowning and scolding, ”Just wait your turn, why all the noise? Keep it up and get out.”

Zhou Ru hurriedly put on a smile, ”Sorry, so sorry, this guy is just a fool, don’t mind him.”

”Yes, don’t take him seriously, if you think he’s out of line, feel free to throw him out, it has nothing to do with us.” Zhou Qian quickly disassociated herself from Jiang Chen, fearful it might affect her son’s job.

Zhou Ru turned and glared at Jiang Chen, saying sternly, ”Jiang Chen, hurry up and apologize to him.”

Jiang Chen ignored Zhou Ru and frowned at the bank staff member who had come in, ”Do you know your bank’s Zhu Zhengkun?”

”Of course I do, he is the vice president of Wanguo Bank in the Flame Dragon Kingdom and also the president of our head office!” The staff member looked at Jiang Chen with contempt, ”What’s it to you? Are you going to say you know our President Zhu?”

Jiang Chen spoke without expression, ”As long as you recognize him, go call him over. I want to properly educate him about the kind of service attitude you have at this bank.”

”Oh, look at you, talking big. Educate our Mr. Zhu? Who do you think you are? The president of the Flame Dragon Kingdom?”

The bank employee laughed and mocked, ”People like you aren’t even worthy of holding Mr. Zhu’s shoes, let alone educating him. You really have no idea how high the sky is or how thick the earth is. You must think you’re a king of talking tough! What are you even doing here trying to act like something you’re not? Who do you think you are?”

”What’s all the noise about?” While they were speaking, a low voice came over. A middle-aged man entered the lounge.

”Mr. Zhu, what brings you here? I was just in the middle of putting these blind people in their place.” The bank employee turned around and immediately started fawning, then pointed at Jiang Chen and said, ”Especially this guy, who doesn’t know his own last name, coming here and causing trouble.”

The newcomer was indeed Zhu Zhengkun, who, upon hearing this, was slightly stunned. He turned his head to glance at the people inside the lounge. His expression changed dramatically and he yelled at the bank employee, ”Are you blind? This is Mr. Jiang, my honored guest. It seems you’re the one who doesn’t know your own last name.”

The bank employee’s face changed, and he turned to look at Jiang Chen in disbelief.

Zhu Zhengkun didn’t bother with the employee any longer. He walked into the lounge toward Jiang Chen and said, ”Mr. Jiang, I’m truly sorry. Why didn’t you call me when you arrived? I could have received you!”

”I don’t know your phone number,” Jiang Chen said indifferently.

Zhu Zhengkun slapped his forehead, ”That was my mistake, my mistake. I’ll give you a call.”

With that, Zhu Zhengkun took out his phone and dialed Jiang Chen’s number.

After calling the number, Zhu Zhengkun glanced at Ye Jingyi and the others before turning back to Jiang Chen, ”Mr. Jiang, you’re here to sign the contract, right? I wasn’t able to help you with the last matter, so this time I arranged a rate reduction and extension. I hope it can be of some help to you!”

Ye Jingyi and the others beside her were dumbfounded. So, this was done as a favor for Jiang Chen by Mr. Zhu! They all looked at Jiang Chen with shock and suspicion.

”It’s okay. Last time wasn’t your fault. Let’s just sign the contract for this time,” Jiang Chen waved his hand.

Zhu Zhengkun quickly got the contract and checked the terms and signatures with Ye Jingyi.

Zhou Qian’s eyes darted around. She sidled up to Zhu Zhengkun and said, ”Mr. Zhu, about my son Zhang Tao’s employment—could we also get that processed at the same time?”

As she spoke, Zhou Qian thought to herself, if my son’s employment is handled by Mr. Zhu personally, then won’t he just walk sideways in the Jinhai headquarters from now on!

Mr. Zhu turned his head to glance at Zhang Tao, ”Oh, is this the Zhang Tao that Mr. Jiang introduced yesterday? Alright, no problem. I’ll process it immediately.”

Zhou Qian and others were instantly dumbstruck.

Oh, so it turns out that this whole affair...

was truly arranged by Jiang Chen calling in a favor!
