In the conference room, Gong Qiang looked at the directors who mostly raised their hands in agreement with his proposal and smiled cheerfully at Gong Lin, ”Chairman, isn’t it time to call President Jiang back?”

Before Gong Lin could reply, the door to the meeting room opened, and Jiang Chen walked in from outside.

”President Jiang...no, I should call you Jiang Chen now. Based on the board’s decision, you...” Gong Qiang looked at Jiang Chen with mockery, a cold smile beginning to form as he spoke.

”Slap—”

With a crisp sound, Jiang Chen slammed a file bag onto the conference table, interrupting Gong Qiang’s words.

Glancing at the file bag, Gong Qiang was taken aback, ”Jiang Chen, what do you mean by this?”

Gong Lin was also briefly stunned, but seemed to remember something, and the corners of her mouth curled up into a pleasing arc.

”Vice President Gong, I have no other intentions, but before you announce the decision of the board, I’d like you to listen to these things first.”

Jiang Chen gave Gong Qiang an indifferent look. He took out the documents from the file bag, spread them out on the table, and pointed them out one by one:

”Five years ago, the investment project you were in charge of, Mr. Vice President, had an investment amount of eighty million, yet the actual account received only fifty million.

Four years ago, two Jinhai advertising companies were not qualified, but Vice President Gong still forcefully approved an investment of thirty million for each, and the actual amount received for each was less than fifteen million.

Three years ago, Vice President Gong...

All together, a total of two hundred and thirty million in funds have disappeared from your hands, Mr. Vice President, with substandard investment projects totaling four hundred and fifty million.

Vice President Gong, do you have anything you’d like to say?”

”What?”

”So much money has disappeared?”

”So many failed investments were made?”

The directors all changed their expressions drastically, looking at Gong Qiang in shock.

”Where did you get these things?” Gong Qiang’s face turned pale, panic-stricken, ”These are fake, you forged them, you’re slandering me!”

Jiang Chen sneered, tossing the documents onto Gong Qiang’s face, ”Slander you? See for yourself!”

”No, it can’t be...”

Gong Qiang’s hands trembled as he looked over the documents, and his whole being turned deathly pale.

”Bang—”

Suddenly, a muffled sound came as the door to the conference room was forcefully pushed open, and a group of men in black burst in.

”The Enforcement Team?!”

”Why are they here!”

The directors recognized the identity of the men in black, each speaking in astonishment.

The leader of the Enforcement Team addressed Gong Lin respectfully, ”Miss, pursuant to President Jiang’s report and our verification, we are here under orders to apprehend Gong Qiang, a scourge to the family.”

”Hmm.”

Gong Lin nodded slightly, the smile at the corner of her mouth growing thicker.

Gong Qiang’s body went limp, and he slumped in his chair, his eyes empty. He knew that it was over for him; Jiang Chen’s documents were real, and being taken away by the Enforcement Team meant he would never have a chance to rise again.

”Take him away.”

With a wave of his hand, the leader of the Enforcement Team motioned, and two members of the Enforcement Team picked up Gong Qiang and dragged him out of the conference room.

In an instant, the conference room quieted down, so quiet you could almost hear a pin drop.

”Let’s continue our meeting,” Gong Lin said with a smile, sweeping her gaze over everyone once the Enforcement Team had left, ”The result of the vote just now was...”

”Chairman, I wasn’t fully awake just now, my vote doesn’t count.”

”Right, right, right, a revote, a revote.”

”A revote is a must.”

The multitude of board members began to shout out one after another.

Gong Qiang’s attack had been sudden, yet Jiang Chen had already gathered so much incriminating information on Gong Qiang, even reporting it to the family, and the Enforcement Team had been dispatched—what kind of capability did that require?!

Scared by Jiang Chen, the directors were all in disarray, hastily changing their tunes.

”I propose that President Jiang serve as our president—why bother with another vote!” a quick-thinking director shouted out loud.

”Seconded!”

”Seconded!”

The directors hurried to raise their hands in agreement.

Glancing at the uniformly raised hands in the meeting room, Gong Lin smiled, and Jiang Chen smiled too.

Although Jiang Chen was still unclear about who the middle-aged man that helped him really was, he could guess a thing or two from the timely arrival of the Gong Family’s Enforcement Team, and he made a mental note of the matter.

After the meeting adjourned, the directors left in a sorry state, and Jiang Chen turned his head to see what Gong Lin would say.

”Stop looking at me like that. I didn’t orchestrate this, but since I asked you to come here, I can’t just watch you get chased away.”

Gong Lin smiled, then her expression turned serious, ”However, the Gong Family isn’t under my sole command. So now, you need to come with me to see an elder of our Gong Family in Jinhai. Only with his support can you truly find your footing at Sihai Investment.”

”Okay.”

Jiang Chen nodded. Without another word, they both got up and left the meeting room, descending the stairs together.

”I’ll get the car.” Gong Lin said softly as they reached the entrance of the company building.

Jiang Chen nodded and pointed to the entrance, ”I’ll wait for you at the plaza entrance.”

At this time, in the coffee shop opposite Sihai Investment, Xu Gang’s face was pale as he looked over at Sihai Investment.

”Impossible, how could Gong Qiang fail? How is this possible!”

As the board meeting began, Gong Qiang had notified Xu Gang to prepare to watch Jiang Chen getting kicked out of the company. Xu Gang had run to the coffee shop eagerly, waiting to see Jiang Chen being thrown out by security, even thinking about taunting him afterward.

But what he ended up waiting for was to see Gong Qiang being whisked away by a group of men in black.

This scene deeply shocked Xu Gang, and he instantly realized that he was finished, with no way out but to beg Jiang Chen.

As he was considering this, a figure emerged from the entrance of Sihai Investment—Jiang Chen.

Xu Gang’s complexion changed, and, gritting his teeth, he dashed out of the coffee shop.

”President Jiang, you’re leaving!” The security team captain Wu Dayong, who was on duty in the security room, saw Jiang Chen coming out and scurried over.

Jiang Chen looked at Wu Dayong and nodded with a light laugh.

”Jiang Chen.”

A panicked voice called out. Jiang Chen and another person turned to look as Xu Gang hurriedly ran over from across the street.

”What do you want?” Wu Dayong’s face changed, and he stepped in front of Jiang Chen like a personal guard, shouting loudly.

”Thump—”

Xu Gang rushed in front of them and knelt down on the ground. Wu Dayong was taken aback and quickly stepped aside; he understood that Xu Gang’s act of kneeling wasn’t meant for him.

Jiang Chen smiled and approached Xu Gang, ”Xu Gang, what does this mean?”

With a sobbing tone, Xu Gang spoke, ”Jiang Chen... oh, I mean, President Jiang, I was wrong. Please spare me. I won’t provoke you again, please continue investing in my company. Without the investment from The Four Seas, my company will be finished.”

”Investment?” Jiang Chen said with a cold smile, ”You pressured my wife and humiliated me time and again, and now you want investment from me? Have you lost your mind? I’ll tell you, I’d rather burn my money or throw it down a drain than give you a single penny.”
