”President Ye, the company’s creditors are all knocking on our door demanding repayment! What should we do?” an anxious voice came through the phone.

”What?” Ye Jingyi jumped out of bed in an instant, ”Calm them down for now, I’ll be at the company right away.”

After hanging up, Ye Jingyi rushed out of the villa in a flurry.

”Our family has been ruined by Jiang Chen, it’s over, all over.”

Seeing her daughter’s panicked state, Zhou Ru and the other two felt complete despair.

Driving her car, Ye Jingyi sped to Liying Cosmetics like a bolt of lightning.

”What’s the situation?” As soon as she stepped through the door, the secretary was waiting in the lobby and Ye Jingyi hurriedly asked.

The secretary’s face was flustered, ”They are all in the reception room. No matter what I say, they won’t leave. They insist on coming to demand their debts. President Ye, what do we do?”

”Don’t panic, let me have a look!”

Ye Jingyi took a deep breath to calm herself and her secretary, then headed towards the reception room.

Inside the reception room, seven or eight men of different appearances were engaging in conversation with one another.

”President Zhang, have you also received the news?”

”President Chen, it seems we’re all in the same boat.”

”Who knows what the Ye Family Head was thinking, actually asking us to come to Liying Cosmetics to press for debts and spilling the beans about the company’s cash flow problems? What is he trying to do?”

”Who knows what the old fox is up to? As long as we get our money back, that’s what matters.”

While they were talking, Ye Jingyi walked in.

”President Ye, you’ve arrived just in time, pay up quickly!”

Upon seeing Ye Jingyi enter, the men immediately stopped their conversation and cut straight to the chase.

Ye Jingyi’s face stiffened as she forced a smile, ”President Zhang, President Chen, gentlemen, why has everyone suddenly come all at once?”

”President Ye, you don’t need to concern yourself with that. Just hurry up and pay us back; we need to get the money today.”

”Right, we want the money today.”

All the men surrounded Ye Jingyi with an intimidating air, stretching out their hands towards her.

Ye Jingyi pleaded, ”Could you, could you give me a few more days? Just a few days, and I can definitely pay you.”

”A few days?”

One of the creditors sneered, ”Don’t try to fool us. Your uncle, Ye Jianchang, already told me that your company’s cash flow has completely dried up, you’re almost unable to pay salaries, and can’t take out loans from the bank. What will you pay us with?”

”Exactly, if we don’t get our money now and your company goes bankrupt, who will we look for then?”

”Yeah, pay up!”

”Pay up!”

Ye Jingyi’s face turned deathly pale in an instant.

She understood; the Ye Family was pressuring her. They were pushing her to a dead end, with the goal of making her surrender.

If she didn’t surrender, she truly had only one way out – a dead end.

Tears swirled in Ye Jingyi’s eyes as she looked at the hands stretched out by the creditors before her, feeling completely hopeless.

It’s over! The company... is finished! And I... am finished too!

Just as Ye Jingyi was sinking into despair, the sound of hurried footsteps arose, and the secretary walked into the reception room with a middle-aged man.

Amidst everyone’s puzzled looks, the secretary introduced the middle-aged man to Ye Jingyi, ”President Ye, this gentleman is from Sihai Investment. He said he has something to discuss with you.”

From Sihai Investment?

A few creditors paused, confused. What was a person from Sihai Investment doing here? Were they also here to demand debts from Liying Cosmetics?

”Hey, isn’t that Manager Wang Maode?” someone recognized the middle-aged man.

”You know him?”

”Yeah, the investment department manager of The Four Seas, who controls countless funds. He’s a big shot.”

While several people were whispering among themselves, the middle-aged man handed Ye Jingyi his business card, smiling as he said, ”Good day, President Ye. I am Wang Maode, the investment department manager of Sihai Investment. Here is my business card.

Our company, Sihai Investment, has decided to invest in Liying Cosmetics, with an investment amount of fifty million. Here’s the contract for your review.”

As he spoke, Wang Maode handed over the contract in his hand.

Whoa!

The entire room fell silent.

Everyone stared at Wang Maode in disbelief.

Ye Jingyi was also stunned and remained still for a long time.

After a while, she dumbly took the contract, opened it, and instantly, an indescribable surge of joy filled her heart.

It really was an investment contract for fifty million yuan, with the chairman’s signature and company seal all affixed.

As long as she signed, this fifty million yuan investment would take effect immediately.

The company’s crisis was resolved!

”Ms. Ye, can we take a look at that contract?”

At this moment, the creditors approached tentatively, asking falteringly with great care.

Without waiting for Ye Jingyi to answer, they snatched the contract right from her hands.

The creditors crowded together and began reading.

”Holy shit, it’s really an investment contract, fifty million, with signature and company seal all set.”

”That’s outrageous.”

The creditors were flabbergasted.

What’s going on? Why has Sihai Investment suddenly decided to invest in Liying Cosmetics?

The general manager who knew Wang Maode asked respectfully, ”Manager Wang, is this for real?”

Wang Maode glanced at him with disdain and proudly said, ”Of course, it’s real. Do you think we at Sihai Investment are joking?”

”No, no...” that general manager quickly waved his hands, saying, ”I just don’t understand, why?”

Because this company belongs to our president’s wife, Wang Maode thought to himself, but his lips curved into a smile, ”We at Sihai Investment always focus on good companies, good projects, good products. What do you think?”

Crack! Like a bolt of lightning, his words split open the creditors’ minds, sending them into wild speculation.

Oh my, Liying Cosmetics must have an excellent project for Sihai to take an interest in it. Haha, the future of Liying Cosmetics is promising.

We’re going to make a fortune!

The creditors quickly changed their tune, their attitude doing a complete 180.

Leading the way, that general manager bowed to Ye Jingyi:

”Sorry for the disturbance, Ms. Ye. Please attend to your matters; we’ll be taking our leave!”

”Yes, yes, we’ll be leaving!”

”We won’t bother you any longer!”

The group of them bowed and apologized, smiling from ear to ear as they said their goodbyes.

Ye Jingyi was still a bit confused, ”You don’t want the debt anymore?”

With an awkward smile, that general manager said, ”You must be kidding, Ms. Ye. We weren’t really here to collect a debt. We just came to see you, haha, we’re still looking forward to getting rich with you.”

”Yes, getting rich.”

After saying that, the creditors turned around and left all at once.

Once outside, that general manager suddenly received a phone call. Frowning, he took the call:

”Ye Jianchang, you’re being underhanded. You knew Liying Cosmetics had a great project and deliberately pushed us to collect the debt, didn’t you? Once we pull out our investment, the Ye Family can monopolize the great project!

What... you’re still playing dumb with me!

Let me tell you, you can’t fool me. The fifty million yuan from Sihai Investment has arrived. Humph!”

After hanging up the phone in a huff, that general manager cursed, ”Old fox!”

Then he walked away in high spirits.

At that moment, in the Jinhai Ye Family mansion, Family Head Ye Jianchang was staring at his phone, utterly incredulous.

”Fifty million yuan investment? From Sihai Investment?”

”How is that possible?”

”Sihai Investment? That’s the Gong Family’s enterprise. Why would they invest in Liying Cosmetics? What is the Gong Family up to? Are their reach this long? Are they not willing to see us ally with the Sun Family in marriage?”

The angrier Ye Jianchang got, the more he spoke. Suddenly, he lashed out, his hand slamming the phone down fiercely on the ground.

”Ye Jingyi!”

”Wait and see, you won’t escape the family’s control!”

”Never!”
