Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1192: Marked by the Prince ( 1192 )

Liana shook her head and exhaled. ”Now, now, Young Master~ Focus.”

”Okay, okay. Sheesh.” Javier smiled and glanced at Gracelle before mumbling softly.

”Let’s hope my first operation is a success. Father mentioned that if I follow what he suggested, we’ll be able to save her.”

Liana, standing beside him, smiled.

”Don’t worry, Young Master. I believe you can do it.” She reached for his arm and wrapped her hand around it.

Javier smiled, exhaling softly.

”Alright. Time to prove my father’s words are right. I’ll try my best and use every bit of knowledge, experience, and skill I have to ensure this operation goes perfectly.”

Meanwhile.

The temporary building next to the operation building.

Garius and Francesca sat at the table while maids served them food and drink.

Gloria sat at the table, along with Felicia, Delya, and Mimi. She pursed her lips, just staring at the food on her plate.

Mou! It’s always Liana, Liana, Liana.

It’s because she learned two special healing-related skills from the Golden Tome of Knowledge that Lady Francesca allowed us to study, and the tome chooses suitable skills for each of us.

Hmmph! She’s the only one lucky enough to get two special skills. And not to mention, one of them is exactly what Young Master needs today.

Gloria exhaled and stabbed her meal with her fork, still pouting.

Francesca noticed Gloria’s sigh and smiled, glancing at her.

”Gloria?”

Gloria snapped out of her thoughts.

”Y... yes, Lady Mother?”

”What’s wrong? Is the food not good?” Francesca put down her fork and knife and dabbed her lips with a napkin.

”Ah... it’s good.” Gloria smiled softly and continued eating.

”Ara~ Gloria~ Honey Bun isn’t far. He’s just in the next building, and I’m sure the operation won’t take too long. Don’t worry too much~” Francesca chuckled softly, raising her palm to her lips.

Gloria smiled faintly and nodded. ”Mm~”

Garius glanced at all of Javier’s girls eating before turning his gaze toward Alf.

”Alf?”

Alf stepped forward and bowed slightly.

”Yes, Your Majesty?”

Garius took a sip of the wine served by Erinette before slowly placing it back on the table. ”Where are Rolland and Sylvia?”

”They’re upstairs, Your Majesty. Our unit is currently checking on them, ensuring their mental and physical well-being after what happened. We’re also verifying that no lingering curses or manipulations remain.”

”Mm... good.” Garius leaned back in his chair. ”So tell me, Alf.”

”Yes, Your Majesty?” Alf smirked.

”I believe we know that butler. He might have disguised his appearance, but he’s Hanarak, right? From the House of... what do they call it?” Garius let out a soft laugh. ”Dark Veil?”

Alf chuckled and shook his head in amusement. ”Indeed, Your Majesty. It seems he hasn’t learned his lesson and has built his own house of assassins.”

Garius shook his head and smiled faintly. ”He served under Klimbert back then, right?”

”Yes, Your Majesty. He served as a third-rate assassin under Klimbert before he broke away and formed his own organization.”

Francesca let out a graceful laugh after putting down her knife and fork, dabbing her lips with her napkin.

”Ah~ The one who became obsessed with dark magic but failed to claim those filth who call themselves ’celestial’~”

”It’s as you say, My Lady.” Erinette chuckled softly before pouring another glass of golden wine for Francesca. ”That boy never stopped, never learned, and never had any intention of changing. He’s too obsessed with gaining power the wrong way.”

Garius smiled. ”Remember back then, Alf?”

”Yes, Your Majesty. I still remember when I was about to finish him.” Alf smiled. ”You gave him a chance to live his life, to choose a different path.”

”And yet he chose the wrong one,” Garius said, his tone calm but carrying a hint of disappointment before continuing.

”Does this mean the real butler of Mathrias, Farajan, is dead?”

Alf’s expression turned serious. ”I suspect so, Your Majesty. Hanarak is skilled in disguise and infiltration, and the real Farajan was known for his loyalty. It’s likely he was eliminated long ago to make way for this charade.”

”So this means Hanarak and his group infiltrated Mathrias, disguised themselves as trusted staff, and deliberately weakened the region by keeping Gracelle in a cursed state. By prolonging her suffering, they diverted Rolland and Sylvia’s attention, drained their resources, and left the region vulnerable to external takeover.”

Alf adjusted his glove. ”It seems they were setting the stage for a full-scale assassination under the guise of a demon attack, using summoned rift monsters and manipulation magic to cover their tracks.”

Garius rubbed his chin. ”Alf?”

”Yes, Your Majesty?” Alf bowed slightly from Garius’s side.

”There are two regions near Mathrias, right?” Garius leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms and resting a hand on his chin.

”Yes, Your Majesty. Northeast of Mathrias is Haghrab Region under High Baron Blaszen, and Northwest is Bardigas Region under Viscount Dasmen.”

Garius chuckled. ”Ah, I remember him, Dasmen... who keeps licking King Kimar’s butt... one of King Kimar’s favorite nobles~ This means it might be related.” Garius gave Alf a side look of amusement.

”But... we still can’t make accusations without solid evidence or knowing exactly who sent Hanarak or paid the House of Dark Veil for this.” Garius leaned back, his expression thoughtful. ”But we already know the House of Dark Veil is fully involved, especially since their leader, Hanarak, is the one who infiltrated Mathrias and orchestrated this entire scheme.”

Alf smirked. ”If Your Majesty needs me to plan or prepare something to dismantle the House of Dark Veil, I’m ready.”

”Ah, Alf~ I’m sure you’re just teasing me, but don’t forget what you said earlier.”

Alf smirked and bowed. ”Pardon my rudeness. I nearly forgot the ’important thing’ I mentioned earlier. According to information from our command center, it seems Prince Javier has already marked them.”

”Indeed.” Garius leaned forward and reached for his wine glass. ”I also promised him I’d let him handle this matter, related to Gracelle’s condition.” He chuckled. ”And I’m sure he won’t let any of us interfere this time. Even if I said no, he wouldn’t listen... well, I guess we’ll just have to watch from afar.”

Garius glanced at Alf and smiled. ”Don’t worry... when the time comes, I’m sure Javier will let you have the honor of finishing Hanarak, just as it was supposed to be before.”
