Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1152: Warmth in a Busy Kitchen ( 1152 )

Liana noticed Erisa moving away from the counter after ringing the bell.

Hmm? I think I saw Erisa...

If she’s here... that means the family must be having an important meeting, and Mrs. Erinette asked her to tell the chef to prepare a meal for them.

If that’s the case, Young Master probably won’t be able to leave the private office anytime soon.

Liana smiled softly.

I guess I’ll send this meal later, along with the family’s meals.

Liana smiled and glanced toward the Head Chef.

”Chief?”

The head chef looked at her, uncrossing his arms and offering a slight bow with a smile. ”Yes, Miss Liana?”

”Did Erisa come by earlier?”

”Yes, Miss Liana. Mrs. Erinette requested a meal for the family meeting in His Majesty’s private office.”

”Oh... okay. Please let me know when the food is ready. I’ll be joining to help serve it, along with the rest of the family’s meal.”

”As you wish, Miss Liana.” The head chef nodded and smiled warmly.

It’s been so long since I served like this.

Liana smiled softly, glancing down at her maid uniform.

Soon, I won’t be able to wear this anymore.

After the engagement is finally official, Gloria and I will be recognized as fiancées, no longer personal maids.

And since Mother has already confirmed that I will be Young Master wife no matter what happens...

Liana smiled faintly as she began cooking the steak. She heated a cast-iron pan until it shimmered, then placed the thick, marbled cut of meat onto the surface. A satisfying sizzle filled the air as she pressed it gently, letting it sear to a perfect crust, seasoned it lightly with salt and a special blend of herbs, flipping it with practiced ease to sear the other side. After a few minutes, she added a knob of butter, letting it melt and foam before basting the steak repeatedly, ensuring it stayed juicy and rich with flavor.

Well... I don’t think that’s a bad thing. Being his wife will be different, but it’s a role I’ve been preparing for my whole life.

Since no matter what, I’ll still be serving the same man, from back when he was a baby till he became this handsome man... the same way I’ll always serve him, but as his official wife~

While cooking, Liana heard a slight commotion outside.

”P... Princess... please... you can’t come inside the kitchen.”

”Nya~ I can smell good food, nya! Let me in!”

”I’m sorry, Princess, but you can’t. Or we’ll be in trouble.”

Liana looked at the head chef.

”Chief?”

”Yes, Miss Liana?”

”Is that Mimi?”

”Yes, Miss Liana. She wants to come inside the kitchen.”

Liana exhaled softly. Just as she was about to say something, Mimi peeked from behind a tall rack of neatly arranged seasonings, her eyes sparkling.

”Nya? Liana!!! Eheeheh~”

Mimi rushed over, her hands clasped behind her back, her steps light and bouncy, her tail swaying happily behind her. She wore an oversized t-shirt that slipped off one shoulder, paired with short shorts, making her look both adorable and slightly mischievous.

”Mimi...” Liana exhaled and shook her head, glancing at the head chef.

The head chef nodded and smiled, turning toward the kitchen crew. ”Keep on working, everyone! Our King’s family is awaiting their meals!”

”Yes, Chief!”

Liana glanced at Mimi, who was now sniffing the first steak, her eyes wide with curiosity.

”Nya! This smells good~”

”Mimi... behave, and don’t disturb the kitchen crew, okay?”

”Nya? Okay~”

Liana continued cooking another steak.

Meanwhile, Mimi placed a finger on her lips, eyeing the first finished steak on the plate. She slowly dipped her finger into the juices and tasted it.

”Uwoohh! This one is good, nya!” Mimi licked her lips, her eyes darting around before spotting a fork and knife nearby.

She glanced at Liana, who was focused on the second steak, then quickly turned and grabbed the utensils. With her tail swaying happily and her tongue poking out slightly in concentration, she carefully cut a large, juicy piece of the steak and popped it into her mouth.

”Mmm~ Delicious!” she murmured, her eyes closing in bliss as she savored the perfectly seasoned, tender meat.

Liana, who had just finished flipping the second steak, noticed Mimi’s mischief.

”Mimi! That’s for Young Master!”

”Eeehhh?” Mimi pouted, her tail still swaying playfully. ”But Mimi also wants this, nya!”

Liana looked at the first steak, now missing nearly half, and shook her head.

”You ate that much in one bite?” Liana glared at Mimi.

Mimi grinned sheepishly, clasping her hands behind her back and twirling her body from side to side, her tail swaying playfully. ”Eheheeh~”

”You know girls shouldn’t eat like that,” Liana exhaled, her tone gentle but firm. ”You should cut it into proper, smaller pieces, not take one huge chunk.”

”But it was delicious~” Mimi pursed her lips and glanced up at Liana with gleaming, hopeful eyes. ”Can I eat this?”

Liana shook her head and sighed, turning back to the second steak. ”Fine, but eat like a proper girl. Go get a chair and sit properly.”

”Okay, nya! Ehehehe~” Mimi’s eyes lit up as she glanced around, spotted a nearby stool, and dragged it over to the counter. She sat down, straightened her oversized shirt, and picked up her fork and knife again.

”I’m digging in~”

Liana smiled, glancing sideways at Mimi while keeping her focus on the next steak.

Mimi ate properly, cutting small, neat pieces and savoring each bite, her tail swaying contentedly. ”Tehe~ This is delicious, nya~”

Liana continued cooking the third steak.

I wonder... when she’s claimed by Young Master later, will she change?

Liana shook her head softly.

No... I don’t think she will change. This is her real self. From back then till now, she’s never changed.

No one has changed, really... I guess...

Every one of Young Master’s girls is special in their own way, each with their own charm, their own quirks, their own way of loving him.

Let’s hope everything goes well and nothing changes.

I’m comfortable with all of Young Master’s girls as they are now. Gloria, Felicia, Delya, and this one.

Liana smiled and shook her head, looking at Mimi, who had just finished her steak and was now holding up her plate with hopeful eyes.

”Nya! Second!”

Liana exhaled and reached for the second steak, placing it on Mimi’s plate before drizzling it with the special sauce she had just prepared.

”This is the last one, okay?” Liana glanced toward the head chef and the kitchen crew, who were finishing up the family meals and arranging them on serving trolleys. ”The food for the family is almost ready, and I need to finish Young Master’s meal soon.”

Mimi pursed her lips, her expression a mix of disappointment and longing for a third or fourth helping.

Liana smiled again. ”I’ll cook more for everyone once I’ve delivered this meal to him. Don’t worry.”

”Really, nya? Yeay!” Mimi’s face brightened instantly, and she happily dug into the second steak, her tail swishing cheerfully. ”Mm~ This one’s delicious too! Ehehe~ I love Liana’s cooking~”
