Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Now that the first step has been taken, everything will become much simpler.

With this thought, Chen Jie lifted a cup of tea again and said to Princess Ruyang, ”Mother-in-law, please have some tea.”

Princess Ruyang held a favorable opinion of Chen Jie. After all, he had a fine appearance and exceptional talent in martial arts. With the blessing of martial arts, his physique and looks were top-notch.

Our esteemed mother-in-law had a fondness for good looks. Upon seeing Chen Jie, she instinctively felt the delight of a mother-in-law admiring her son-in-law, finding him increasingly pleasing to the eye.

At this moment, the princess took the tea cup and said, ”Hmm, take good care of our Yaya in the future.”

Chen Jie replied, ”Yes, mother-in-law.”

The princess drank a cup of tea, marking the completion of the ceremony. Si Xi then announced, ”Good, the ceremony is complete. Next, the couple will enter the bridal chamber to change clothes, after which we have the welcoming of guests.”

Typically, at this point in an ordinary family’s ceremony, they should enter the bridal chamber, and then the groom would come out to welcome the guests.

However, Zhao Ya’s special status and significant influence, coupled with the fact that some guests came specifically for the prestige of the Ruyang Royal Mansion, necessitated a change.

Therefore, Chen Jie directly modified the rules. When the ceremony was over, the couple would change outfits to welcome the guests, resembling modern wedding procedures.

Since Chen Jie was the authority in Huangzhou Prefecture, he had the status necessary to modify the wedding procedures.

As for those who might say the wedding procedures didn’t conform to family rules, it didn’t matter. Chen Jie had nurtured many scholars who were well-entertained and served. If they couldn’t handle this minor issue now, it would be their failing.

It is said: ”Upon entering the gate, there will be a great scholar to debate the classics for me.”

So although Chen Jie changed the system, he had a group of people specifically waiting to help him find ways that conformed to etiquette, prepared to argue with the skeptics.

Thus, Chen Jie and Zhao Ya directly entered the bridal chamber. Upon arriving, they found that the County Chief’s personal maidservant, Molan, had already prepared welcome attire there.

Moreover, Su Yunjin also sent her personal maidservant, Yin Hongmei, and Huang Wan’er sent her personal maidservant, Du Juan.

At this moment, waiting for the couple here, they quickly helped the two change into the welcoming attire.

With everything prepared, Chen Jie and Zhao Ya stepped outside to their designated location. Although they had met many of the guests in advance, they still needed to formally welcome them again.

At this moment, Si Xi stood at the entrance, took the guest list, and began announcing names.

”Yushan Shangren Liu Futong, accompanied by his granddaughter, here to congratulate, presents a pair of Golden Dragon and Phoenix Ornaments and eighteen volumes of first-class martial arts secret manuals.”

Liu Futong then stepped forward and said to Chen Jie, ”Wishing you both a harmonious union for a hundred years.”

Chen Jie cupped his fists and said, ”Please, brother.”

”Laughing Buddha Peng Yingyu Master is here to congratulate, presenting a string of Sea Soul Purple Sandalwood Buddha Beads.”

Peng Yingyu cheerfully walked in and said, ”Fourth Brother, this poor monk is only able to give you this personal string of Buddha beads.”

Chen Jie said, ”Second Brother, you jest. Treasures like these are just what I’d hoped for.”

”Haha, as long as you like it, wishing you an early arrival of noble children.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie stepped back half a step and said, ”Please.”

Watching Peng Yingyu leave, other guests also started entering one after another, like Feng Hongyuan, who gifted a wedding dress, and Linglong from the Five Poison Sect, who gifted top-level elixirs.

Though fascinating, these did not cause many heads to turn until Si Xi announced!

”Hero Song of Wudang, accompanied by his junior brothers Zhang CuiShan, Mo Shenggu, Yin Liting, here to congratulate, presents,”

As he read to this point, even Si Xi paused for a moment, excitedly continuing, ”presents a calligraphy piece personally written by Master Zhang of Wudang!”
