Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

After speaking, the Ruyang King reached out and directly slapped Sharlu on the shoulder. Instantly, the power of the Melt God Realm was infused into Sharlu’s body, sealing his dantian.

His cultivation in the Wolf Smoke Realm was directly sealed, thus rendering Sharlu completely useless, unable to utilize Martial Arts Power.

Stripped of the Princely Heir position, cultivation sealed, and then confined—this was Sharlu’s final fate.

With a wave of his hand, the Ruyang King had a few people drag Sharlu away, during which Sharlu cried out loudly, ”Father, you shouldn’t confine me, you should kill me, hahaha... kill me!”

”Hmph... Unfilial son!”

With a snap, the Ruyang King savagely slapped the war horse behind him, sending it flying into the city wall, where it exploded into a bloody mess!

Seeing this, everyone around was petrified. It was clear that Sharlu had truly angered the Ruyang King.

After a long while, the Ruyang King finally regained his composure and addressed those around him, ”All those ranked Hundred Households and above, to the Prince Mansion. The rest, return with your respective Hundred Households, and should anyone dare to disturb the commoners, kill them!”

Upon hearing this, everyone behaved, aware that the Ruyang King was truly furious. Anyone who dared to object now would only be courting disaster.

Ruyang Royal Mansion!

The Ruyang King ascended the main hall, with the White Deer Army’s Commander, Deputy Commander, garrison commander, Hundred Households officers, and dozens of others below.

Yet even within the spacious hall of the Ruyang Prefecture, it didn’t seem crowded.

At this moment, the Ruyang King wore a stern face, and below, the Commander, Deputy Commander, garrison commander, and Hundred Households all hung their heads low, knowing the Ruyang King was displeased, therefore, no one dared to provoke his wrath!

Finally, after a moment’s pause, the Ruyang King picked up a teacup from the table, took a sip, and said, ”I won’t investigate this matter, yet I cannot overlook it altogether. So tell me, how should I punish you?”

Hearing the Ruyang King’s words, the people below shivered with fear but dared not utter a word.

The Ruyang King scanned the crowd and said, ”Zhang Shicheng, aren’t you full of clever ideas? Speak up.”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Shicheng thought for a moment and said, ”Your Highness, we have made a grave mistake. We are anxious, and no matter how Your Highness punishes us, we have no complaints.”

”Indeed, no complaints!”

Upon hearing this, the Commander and other officials below all echoed.

The Ruyang King slightly frowned and said, ”Fine, no complaints. Then you shall not blame me for being ruthless!”

As soon as he spoke, Wang Baobao said, ”Father, your child has something to say.”

The Ruyang King looked at him and said, ”Speak.”

Wang Baobao said, ”Father, this time the Commanders were forced by the circumstances, and their attitude toward rectifying the mistake afterward was exceptionally good. Furthermore, they surrendered on the battlefield without causing any major trouble. So I suggest a moderate punishment, not excessively.”

Upon hearing this, the Ruyang King gave a slight nod and said, ”Kuo Kuo’s words are reasonable.”

After saying this, the Ruyang King looked at the Commanders kneeling on the ground and said, ”Then there shall be moderate punishment. All Commanders, Deputy Commanders, garrison commanders, and Hundred Households will be demoted by one level. Temporarily continue regular military duties; when meritorious deeds are achieved, promotions will be considered. If still unrepentant, then return home to farm.”

”Yes, thank you, Your Highness. We obey!”

Upon hearing this, everyone immediately responded, understanding that this truly was a moderate punishment. Although demoted by one level, their authority was not taken away. It meant that as long as they performed well, they could regain their original positions.

Thus, everyone felt quite at ease.

At this moment, the Ruyang King said, ”Don’t be happy too soon. It’s only because I’m considering Kuo Kuo. If it weren’t for Tuotuo pleading, huh, you’d suffer.”

All the Commanders and Deputy Commanders bowed to Wang Baobao, saying, ”Thank you, Young Prince, for pleading.”

Zhang Shicheng was among the crowd, but he saw further than these Commanders. Today was clearly a performance by the Prince and Wang Baobao.

One played the stern role, and the other played the lenient role—all for establishing Wang Baobao’s authority and securing loyalty.

It seemed the Ruyang King intended for Wang Baobao to inherit his throne and had started paving the way for him.

Zhang Shicheng understood the implications but still bowed respectfully. The Ruyang King was also satisfied to see the Commanders bowing.

Once everyone stood up, the Ruyang King said, ”Secondly, I want to announce something. Sharlu’s Princely Heir position is revoked, and I have decided to pass the Princely Heir position to Kuo Kuo. Moreover, promoting Kuo Kuo to Vice Marshal of the White Deer Army, in charge of military affairs.”

Hearing this, Zhang Shicheng and others exchanged glances, confirming their suspicions. The Ruyang King indeed passed the Princely Heir position to Wang Baobao.

Additionally, by appointing him Vice Marshal of the White Deer Army, Wang Baobao could directly command seventy thousand White Deer troops. This was far more formidable than Sharlu’s nominal Princely Heir position.

Everyone immediately bowed to Wang Baobao, saying, ”Greetings, Princely Heir, greetings, Vice Marshal!”

Wang Baobao stood up at this moment and looked at the Ruyang King: ”Father, I am still young, I fear it will be difficult to gain the people’s confidence!”

The Ruyang King looked at Wang Baobao and said: ”Aspiration does not depend on age. You are fully capable of gaining the people’s trust and handling matters independently. Besides, does anyone have any objections?”

”We have no objections!”

Zhang Shicheng and other commanders openly expressed their dislike at this moment to the Ruyang King.

The Ruyang King lightly nodded upon hearing this and said: ”Hmm, that’s settled then. I won’t concern myself with anything else!”

”Kuo Kuo, you are capable, this king won’t choose wrongly. Do well, and the future of the White Deer Army will be yours.”

This statement basically confirmed Wang Baobao’s position as the heir.

At this moment, Wang Baobao promptly said: ”Thank you, Father!”

The Ruyang King said: ”Alright, that’s it for military affairs. I have more to say, the Commandery Princess will soon be married, and from now on, I don’t have time to manage the army. All affairs will be handed over to Kuo Kuo.”

”Alright, you can leave now, and summon the administrative officials.”

Soon, all the soldiers left, followed by the administrative officials who arrived one after another, quickly filling the room.

These were officials managing the Five Routes of Jiangnan Eighty-One Prefectures, and the Ruyang King immediately began to announce.

”Today I’ve summoned you, first to reassure you, and second to inform you of something. That is, my Commandery Princess is about to be married!”

Upon hearing this, everyone in the room was surprised, then looked at the Ruyang King and said: ”Prince, whom is the Commandery Princess marrying?”

The Ruyang King listened to these words and said: ”You must have heard by now, Huangzhou Prefecture, Chen Jiusi.”

”Ah, Prince, the Commandery Princess is of noble status, how can she marry... a Han person!”

At this moment, the civil servants were displeased. Many of them were Mulan people and had strong racial beliefs.

Upon hearing this, the Ruyang King frowned and said: ”This king is marrying his daughter, do you have an objection?”

The sudden anger from the Ruyang King immediately scared the civil servants, who quickly said: ”No, no, we dare not!”

The Ruyang King said: ”Hmph, today this king is not asking for your opinions, but informing you, and also, this king requires each state mansion from the Five Routes to prepare a congratulatory gift that holds representative significance, do you understand?”

”Yes.”

The civil servants exchanged glances, immediately agreed, and the Ruyang King continued: ”Oh, and another thing.”

”Inform the magistrate of Jiujiang Prefecture to prepare the traveling accommodations; the Commandery Princess will temporarily reside in Jiujiang Prefecture.”

Upon hearing this, the officials immediately responded: ”Yes.”

”Alright, you may leave now.”

The Ruyang King immediately dismissed the civil and military officials and then summoned the mansion’s housekeeper.

”Prince.”

The old housekeeper immediately saluted the Ruyang King, who looked at him and said: ”How much silver coin is left in the treasury?”

Upon hearing this, the old housekeeper said: ”Originally there was a million taels, but in the past few days, the princely heir, uh, the eldest son took away 500,000 taels, leaving only 500,000 taels.”

”500,000 taels!”

The Ruyang King frowned, then cursed: ”This beast, incapable of accomplishing anything worthwhile!”

The Ruyang King said: ”Seal these 500,000 taels, and also allocate 30,000 acres of land under my name to the Commandery Princess.”

”Uh, isn’t that too much?”

The old housekeeper immediately spoke upon hearing this, and the Ruyang King said: ”Whatever belongs to this king, I don’t see as too much. Why do you, an old dog, meddle in affairs? Hurry and take care of it.”

The housekeeper left, and at this moment Zhao Ya walked in and said: ”Father, this dowry is too much. Your daughter cannot accept it.”

The Ruyang King said: ”You silly girl, you think this is just for you alone? That Chen Jiusi gave a substantial bride price; this king will not be outdone by him, I must surpass him!”

As he said this, the Ruyang King secretly thought, this little bit isn’t enough to surpass that brat; it seems I must come up with something more formidable!

The Ruyang King muttered to himself!
