Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chapter 1045: Chapter 257: Prince of Huangzhou, Chen 94

What’s wrong with being dissatisfied? Sorry, a beating will fix it.

You want to leave first, can’t leave, want to submit a letter, sorry, all the documents must first be sent to Chen Jie’s garrison commander’s office, and then they can be sent out.

Once the magistrate didn’t listen, wrote a memorial to impeach Chen Jie, and sent it out overnight.

Then it was delivered to Chen Jie’s desk by the courier.

After Chen Jie read it, he was very angry, how bold, someone in Huangzhou Prefecture is so audaciously tough, immediately held a night court session, at the Huangzhou Prefecture Assistant Magistrate Mansion under the watch of the new frightened Darugachi.

With a slap of the gavel: ”Who dares to accuse me in court!”

Then this magistrate, was dragged publicly, had his pants pulled down, and was whipped ten times, losing all dignity, and never dared to provoke Chen Jie again.

As a result, everything in Huangzhou Prefecture was under Chen Jie’s control as the garrison commander.

And the secondary fifth-rank Assistant Magistrate, fifth-rank Magistrate, and secondary fourth-rank Darugachi, all became puppets.

Every document written had to be reviewed by Chen Jie first before being submitted, and writing them was nerve-wracking, fearing to anger Chen Jiusi, who could publicly make them strip and get whipped, so they behaved truthfully.

It can be said that Chen Jie was the true king of Huangzhou Prefecture.

The lives of six hundred thousand people across one prefecture and eight counties were all decided by Chen Jie.

Chen Jie finally emerged from being a gambling wreck into a person of substance.

”Oh, Si Xi, have you eaten yet?”

Chen Jie looked at the stack of memorials Si Xi handed over, plus a summary, which was a directory of what these memorials were about.

Chen Jie skimmed through and picked out the ten more important ones for responses from the pile.

The rest were minor issues that Si Xi could handle.

Si Xi said, ”I’ve eaten.”

Chen Jie said, ”If you’ve eaten, eat some more, you need to take care of your health. Did you take the Nourishing God Pill I gave you last time? If not enough, I’ll send more to you.”

Si Xi said, ”No need, Master, I’m fine physically.”

Chen Jie said, ”Hmm, Si Xi, you must take care of yourself, you are my pen and brain, if I succeed in the future, you will be my Grand Chancellor.”

Si Xi hurriedly cupped his fists and said, ”Thank you, Master, for the promotion.”

Chen Jie smiled and said, ”No problem, you must rest more, if you want, I can have Master Bai feel your pulse to adjust your health, you carry a heavy burden now.”

”Yes.”

Si Xi quickly said, Chen Jie took an hour to finish responding to yesterday’s memorials, then stood up, wanting to invite Si Xi for a walk in the garden.

However, Si Xi said, ”Master, I haven’t organized today’s memorials, I can’t afford the delay.”

Seeing this, Chen Jie said, ”Ah, thank you for your hard work Si Xi, don’t overwork yourself, if you fall ill, my heart would be heavy.”

Si Xi said, ”Master, don’t worry, I’m okay, the Nourishing God Pill is helping, I’m holding up.”

Chen Jie said, ”Hmm, go on, I’ll see if there are any talents to recruit.”

Si Xi said, ”Yes, Master is right, but I trust our own people more. By the way, what’s the plan for the academy?”

When Chen Jie heard this, he immediately said, ”Hahaha... Si Xi, I would have forgotten if you hadn’t mentioned it.”

”The academy plan has already started, I’ve allocated specific funds to prepare a White Tiger Academy in each town of Huangzhou Prefecture, by then our talent pipeline will be continuous.”

”I am currently the principal, my wife is the vice-principal, by the way, I’ve saved a professor’s position for you, but you’re too busy, I worry you don’t have time to go.”

Si Xi said, ”Master, once things calm down and all the affairs run smoothly, I can be free, by that time, I can also teach the youth in Huangzhou Prefecture.”

Chen Jie said, ”Alright, then I’ll agree on behalf of the students in Huangzhou Prefecture, you must go.”

”Yes, yes, Master, I’ll return to handle the affairs now.”

Si Xi, even though burdened with much work, loved this lifestyle, even enjoying it greatly, knowing that each memorial was about the livelihood of tens of thousands of people in Huangzhou Prefecture.

This feeling of having great power was something many dreamt of.

And now he could easily achieve it.

So even though he was tired, he was willing to give his all for the Master, even unto death.

Seeing Si Xi leave, Chen Jie was rather emotional, they had all grown, now Huangzhou Prefecture was finally looking prosperous.

Just didn’t know how long this great Central Plains battle would last.

Currently, in the Central Plains, Han Shantong’s Zoroastrian Sect and the court’s army were in a standoff, while skirmishes arose around, the flames of war were spreading rapidly.

The only thing Chen Jie could do in Huangzhou Prefecture was to manage his own affairs well and prepare for the upcoming challenges.

While Chen Jie was thinking this, suddenly Yu Chun entered.

Yu Chun was Xiao Hu’s deputy, currently serving as the guard commander at the Chen Residence, deputy commander of the White Tiger Camp.

At this point, Yu Chun came in and said to Chen Jie, ”Master, someone outside is looking for you, claims to be your big brother.”

”My big brother?”

Chen Jie was stunned, surprised, which big brother, Yu Chun said, ”He says his surname is Ni.”

Chen Jie realized and said, ”Ni Wenjun big brother, quickly invite him in.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Yu Chun immediately ran out, and soon Ni Wenjun came in, seeing Chen Jie, he laughed and said, ”Haha, Jiusi, your Huangzhou Prefecture is really flourishing.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Jie quickly went up to greet him, ”Big brother Ni, you’re here, please sit, please sit.”

Ni Wenjun sat down, and Chen Jie looked at him and said, ”Brother, want wine or water?”

Ni Wenjun said, ”Today is official business, water please.”

Chen Jie asked, ”Official business, what kind of official business?”

Ni Wenjun smiled and said, ”Good news, of course.”

He pulled out a yellow silk document from his robe and said, ”Got you a position.”

Chen Jie was stunned, and Ni Wenjun said, ”Under the mandate of heaven, the Emperor orders, Chen Jiusi, your loyalty and courage are commendable, hereby appoints Chen Jiusi as General of Eastern Expedition.”

”Hmm, General of Eastern Expedition?”

Chen Jie was baffled, how could he be suddenly appointed as a general, and Ni Wenjun directly handed over the imperial edict to Chen Jie and said, ”Here, Jiusi, this General of Eastern Expedition is the top of the Four Expeditionary Generals, presently placed under my Left Road Marshal command, from now on our brothers can work together, hahaha...”

Ni Wenjun was in a great mood, after all, promotions and wealth were tempting, and Hero Ni Wenjun could not escape such temptation.

And Chen Jie thought to himself, this is quite a high rank, military ranks are ordered, apart from Marshal, there are the Four Expeditions, Four Cities, and General Feng titles.

Excluding Marshal, this General of Eastern Expedition is at the top of the generals, unexpected to be sitting at home and awarded such a high position.

Chen Jie shook his head, finding it amusing, but then Ni Wenjun said, ”Jiusi, aside from this matter, I’ve got something important to discuss with you this time.”

”Oh, what’s the matter?”

Chen Jie looked at Ni Wenjun and asked!
