Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chapter 997: Chapter 249: Gaining the Divine Technique, Summer God’s Wrath (Part 4)

Zhou Chu was currently engaged in a fierce battle with the trusted aide, but the fight was nearing its conclusion, and he immediately acknowledged with a shout.

Chen Jie directly used the Thunderbolt Step to pursue him. Zhou Yu was a formidable opponent and absolutely could not be allowed to escape. As for the person who had just saved Zhou Yu, Chen Jie had seen clearly—it was Zhou Feng!

That’s right, it was Zhou Yu’s father, the Fishing Guild Leader of Huangzhou Prefecture, the River Barrier Tiger and one of the Eight Tigers, Zhou Feng.

Chen Jie rushed after them, while Zhou Feng was quickly darting through the woods carrying Zhou Yu.

But he realized that Chen Jiusi behind him was closing in closer and closer.

Zhou Yu also noticed this scene and said, ”Father, put me down and go on your own, you can’t get away with me.”

Hearing this, Zhou Feng replied, ”Nonsense, how can I abandon you!”

Zhou Yu said, ”Father, you’re not someone who craves victory, don’t get involved in the battles of us Heavenly Mandate People. We were born to fight, but you shouldn’t get involved, you’re still young, find a wife, and have an obedient son.”

Zhou Feng said with exasperation, ”What nonsense are you talking? What Heavenly Mandate Person, it’s all nonsense, how can the fate of the world be determined by a single Cultivation Technique, you’ve been deceived by those Jianghu swindlers.”

Zhou Yu replied, ”Father, I haven’t been deceived, the Heavenly Mandate exists, but it doesn’t rest on any one person alone, there are many people contending for it. If I lose, I should accept it, it’s just life and death, why be nervous!”

Hearing these words, Zhou Feng exclaimed, ”Son, don’t speak nonsense, life is but one, there are many things to do while living, why die for this? The throne can only belong to one person, does that mean everyone else has to die?”

Zhou Yu responded, ”Of course not, but I am favored by fate, I have a chance to climb to the highest position, how can I give up, I’m not willing, I’m not willing!”

Zhou Feng said, ”But son, you have lost, utterly defeated.”

Zhou Yu said, ”So I am willing to face death. Since I dare to claim the Heavenly Mandate, I am naturally prepared to die for it, so father, let me go, he’s catching up.”

Zhou Feng said, ”No, I won’t let go.”

”Father, you’re an outsider, why involve yourself!”

Zhou Feng replied, ”I am your father!”

Zhou Yu was stunned upon hearing this. After a moment, he laughed and said, ”Ha ha ha, father...”

Then he fell silent, and Zhou Feng thought he had given up resisting and was willing to flee with him. But just when he relaxed, he suddenly felt his shoulder lighten and saw that Zhou Yu had struggled free.

With a thud, he fell to the ground.

In a panic, Zhou Feng quickly turned back to search and saw Zhou Yu already on the ground. Standing there, looking back at Zhou Feng, he said, ”Father, go quickly. I have the Heavenly Mandate, you are a mere mortal, do not get involved.”

Hearing these words, Zhou Feng could not bring himself to leave, and stood still.

At this moment, Chen Jie had caught up, standing not far from Zhou Feng and his son.

Zhou Yu looked at Chen Jie and said, ”Chen Jiusi, what is between us is a battle over the Heavenly Mandate, it’s unrelated to others; kill me, and let him go!”

Chen Jie remained silent.

But then Zhou Feng leapt in front of Zhou Yu and brandished his blade horizontally, saying, ”Chen Jiusi, if you dare touch my son, I’ll fight you to the death!”

The two stood there, appearing as a deeply bonded father and son, looking at Chen Jie.

At this moment, it seemed as if Chen Jie had become the villain.

Chen Jie looked at the Zhou family father and son without saying much, arranging his stance and said, ”Gentlemen, things have come to this point, regardless of previous relations or how deep your father-son bond is, a blood feud has been formed, and there can be no peace as long as one of us lives. So gentlemen!”

Chen Jie raised his hand and assumed a pose, saying, ”Come, let us battle.”

Zhou Yu became anxious upon seeing this and said to Chen Jie, ”Chen Jiusi, he is not involved in our Heavenly Mandate battle, let him go!”

Chen Jie shook his head, ”No can do, you and I are in a Heavenly Mandate battle, but it’s not just that. If I kill you today, he as your father would surely seek revenge, and as a strong practitioner of the Wolf Smoke Realm, he could harm my family and friends.”

”So, Zhou Yu, today you both must either kill me, or I will kill you both!”

Chen Jie assumed his stance, showing he didn’t want any more talk.

Zhou Yu, filled with rage, said, ”Why, why can’t it just be a simple battle between you and me!”

Zhou Feng hearing this, chuckled, ”Son, what is the Heavenly Mandate? Is it truly the will of the heavens? No, it’s just a pretext to rally others for one’s own use. Alas... things have come to this, there’s nothing more to say. I regret allowing you to learn the ’Four Seasons Celestial Phenomenon Technique’ from your master in the first place.”

”At this point, it seems there’s no choice but to carve a bloody path!”

As Zhou Feng spoke, he untied a rope from his waist, threading it through the ring of his long-bladed sword.

Stretching his hand, his long sword spun twice in his hand, and slowly he moved towards Chen Jie, whose steps rose and fell, clearly using a technique meant for balance on a swaying ship in combat.

Chen Jie squinted, then raised his long spear.

”Come, fight!”

”Ha!”

Zhou Feng was first to attack, his long sword slashing towards Chen Jie, who brandished his spear to block the path of the sword and then swept it horizontally at Zhou Feng.

Zhou Feng held his sword horizontally before him, intercepting Chen Jie’s thrust.

The impact made his hands tremble, the thrust was incredibly powerful.
