Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chapter 1000: Chapter 250: Han Miaozhen: Who Burned My Army Provisions!

The lair is on fire!

Seeing the fiery glow in the direction of Centipede Mountain, Elder Quan and Han Miaozhen, who were engaged in battle, were momentarily stunned and turned their heads in unison.

Deep within Centipede Mountain, smoke and dust billowed, as if a large fire had broken out, and at that spot, the two furrowed their brows, concern filling their eyes. The grain storage was right there.

”Hahaha, Fire Chicken, look behind you. I’ve succeeded, hahaha...”

In the midst of combat, Han Miaozhen heard Gui Yannian’s laughter from the opposing side and turned to look, only to see He Yishou also smiling at her.

Han Miaozhen squinted and said: ”Did you send someone to burn my provisions?”

Gui Yannian laughed loudly: ”Of course, otherwise why would we fight you here? Your injuries haven’t healed, and neither of us can defeat you. Nobody can overcome the other. It’s pointless fighting.”

Hearing this, Han Miaozhen’s face changed: ”To stall me — old tortoise, bald bird, you both have such cunning plans. I’ve truly underestimated you!”

Gui Yannian didn’t care about Han Miaozhen’s insults. If someone else dared to call him that, he would have already twisted their head off. But if it was Han Miaozhen, he really couldn’t defeat her.

However, Gui Yannian wouldn’t take the verbal loss, so he mocked Han Miaozhen: ”Fire Chicken, your entire stockpile is burned up this time. Let’s see how you maintain those tens of thousands of refugees, and how you plan to capture Huangzhou Prefecture.”

Han Miaozhen’s face was very unpleasant as she angrily said: ”Old tortoise, don’t be arrogant. I’m telling you; today, I’ll take your Huangzhou Prefecture.”

With that, Han Miaozhen roared furiously, and immediately waved her hand, sending hundreds and thousands of Fire Feathers shooting towards the two. Upon seeing this, the two’s expressions changed drastically, and they quickly joined forces to form an Ice Shield in front of them to block the Fire Feathers.

At this moment, Han Miaozhen’s brows furrowed tightly, and her eyes were full of urgency. Though she could rise on the battlefield now, if the logistics were cut, it truly would be hopeless.

In any battle, aside from the frontline fighters, logistics are of utmost importance. If the supply chain can’t keep up, it would be disastrous.

Thinking of this, Han Miaozhen grew increasingly impatient, looking at Elder Quan not far away, who also turned his gaze towards her.

He, too, saw the lair on fire and knew that the priority now was to quickly return to put out the fire and salvage the supplies.

Now, the only ones who could return were himself and Han Miaozhen. Watching to see if Han Miaozhen retreated, he would hold firm, but discovering she didn’t move, he knew she hoped he would lead troops back for assistance.

At this point, Elder Quan assessed the situation and knew it was time for him to return.

He immediately changed the formation to a defensive stance, while Wang Baobao looked up, seeing the billowing smoke from the direction of Centipede Mountain, and grinned widely, saying: ”Brothers, hang onto them. We’ve succeeded at Centipede Mountain; we’ve burned their provisions, hahaha...”

Hearing this, the Black Cavalry’s morale instantly soared. The enemy’s provisions were burned, essentially cutting off their retreat. And attempting anything significant now was simply impossible, meaning the dynamics of attack and defense in this battle were starting to shift!

The strongest period for the Zoroastrian Sect had passed, and it was now their time to make achievements and establish themselves.

Thinking of this, everyone’s eyes lit up, and they began charging forward with Wang Baobao, howling one after another.

Elder Quan tried breaking through a dozen times but found he couldn’t. Wang Baobao clung to him fiercely, completely blocking his escape.

Elder Quan stomped his foot anxiously but had no means to address the situation. All he could do now was grit his teeth and engage in head-on combat with Wang Baobao, hoping to eliminate him.

The pressure on Wang Baobao increased immensely, but before long, it started to decrease because the refugees’ troops began to mutiny—yes, a mutiny.

The refugees also saw the fire at Centipede Mountain, and the fire’s location was precisely where the grain storage was situated.

Immediately, those with a keen sense of the news guessed what happened and quietly began making their way off the battlefield. But the refugees weren’t fools. Seeing people start to flee, they quickly began retreating en masse.

Seeing this scene, Elder Quan became deeply anxious and shouted angrily: ”Hold your ground! Everyone, hold firm!”

On the city wall, Zhao Ya, seeing the billowing smoke from Centipede Mountain, burst into laughter: ”Haha, Chen Jiusi succeeded. Chen Jiusi succeeded! The enemy’s provisions have burned; we’re sure to win!”

Upon hearing this, Ah Da, Ah Er, and Ah San also laughed out loud.

The laughter infected the soldiers defending the city wall, and they all began laughing heartily one after another.

After a moment of laughter, Zhao Ya quickly regained composure and said to Ah San: ”Immediately inform your men to shout loudly, saying their provisions have burned; if you don’t want to die, flee quickly.”

Hearing this, Ah San clasped his fists: ”Yes, I’ll do it immediately.”

Having said that, Ah San dashed out and yelled loudly: ”Listen up, shout with me...”

Soon, the entire city wall echoed: ”Your provisions have burned; if you don’t want to die, flee quickly.”

Hearing this, the refugees below fell into complete panic.

This was what they called a chaotic mob; facing even slightly unfavorable odds, they immediately began to flee.

The battlefield instantly descended into mutiny.

Countless refugees turned and fled; they joined the Zoroastrian Sect’s rebellion to have something to eat, but now that their provisions were burned, they had no food. With no food, why would they risk their lives for them?

Instantly, the scene was one of utter chaos.

Seeing the refugees’ troops begin to chaotically retreat, Zhao Ya turned to Ah Da and said: ”Ah Da, you and your brothers guard the city here.”
