Chapter 705: Chapter 200 Unparalleled Expert and Ni Wenjun’s Letter_6

After hearing this, Chen Heng hesitated and said, ”Yes.”

Originally, Chen Jie was planning to look for the monk, but since the monk was now searching for alcohol, it might as well be a case of ’waiting for the rabbit.’

...

Songhe Restaurant, the first on Peace Street with its tall signboard personally inscribed by Guild Leader Chen Jiusi of the Fishing Guild!

At that time, the Songhe Restaurant was bustling with people coming and going, and although there was a light rain, it couldn’t stop those eager to drink.

Just when the restaurant was crowded, suddenly a monk arrived and then asked the server, ”Do you have any fine wine here?”

Stunned upon hearing this, the server looked at the monk and said, ”Hey, monk, what are you doing drinking alcohol as a monk?”

The monk, hearing this, smiled, and gave a bow, saying, ”Meat and wine pass through the intestine, but Buddha remains in the heart. I have Buddha in my heart, so whatever I do, Buddha is doing it.”

The server, upon hearing this, said, ”I don’t understand. But do you have any money, looking all ragged like that?”

The monk then pulled out a silver ingot.

Having silver makes things easier, said the server, ”We have plenty of fine wines here, see, this is the green bamboo snake, this is daughter red, this is...”

The server began introducing the good wines of the house to the monk.

Meanwhile, Chen Jie, who had been waiting upstairs, focused his gaze and saw the unkempt monk. However, after only a glance, Chen Jie immediately averted his gaze—he knew too well that as a skilled individual, he should not attract the monk’s attention.

Thinking this, Chen Jie made a gesture to Chen Heng.

Chen Heng understood and immediately ordered the wine to be brought up from upstairs. On the way, they opened the seal, and suddenly, a rich aroma of alcohol wafted through the first floor.

The monk was listening to the server’s introduction, at that moment, he raised his hand and said, ”I don’t want these, I want that kind of wine.”

Pointing at the Fishing Guild servant who had already gone upstairs, the server was taken aback and said, ”Master, that wine is prepared by a customer, it’s not for sale here.”

The monk smiled and pointed at the jug of wine, ”That’s prepared for me.”

The server was stunned and quickly tried to intervene, but the monk agilely dodged him and had already reached the stairs leading upstairs.

The server hurriedly followed him.

At that time, the server said, ”Monk, don’t mess around, the guests upstairs are all upper-class.”

The monk, hearing this, stepped upstairs, soon reaching the second-floor private room, and then pushed open the door.

Inside, there was only a young man sitting.

Seeing the young man’s face, the monk immediately frowned. At that moment, the server rushed up, ”You monk, don’t you understand, we told you not to barge in here?”

The monk ignored him, while the server, seeing Chen Jie sitting in the room, said, ”Guild Leader Chen, I...”

Chen Jie waved his hand and said, ”Server, you can leave now. You’re not needed here.”

Hearing this, the server looked at the monk and said, ”Yes, I’ll take my leave.”

Turning around, the server left, and at that moment in the room, Chen Jie looked at the famous Laughing Buddha Peng Yingyu in front of him, and Peng Yingyu looked at Chen Jie without speaking.

After a while, Chen Jie was the first to speak, ”Monk, care for a drink?”

The monk laughed and said, ”Ha, you invited me up here to drink, didn’t you?”

Chen Jie nodded slightly and said, ”Indeed, nothing can be hidden from the master.”

The monk didn’t speak, while Chen Jie turned to Chen Heng and said, ”Ah Tun, bring the alcohol.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Heng immediately brought over a jug of Chen Jie’s one-year-sealed finest liquor.

Then, breaking the seal, suddenly a rich aroma of alcohol floated out, and the monk sniffed it and said, ”What fragrant liquor.”

Chen Jie smiled and said, ”Not just fragrant, but also strong. Can the master handle it?”

Indeed, the liquor that Chen Jie brought out was his own brewed white liquor, purified by himself, with each jug having an alcohol content of 60 degrees, which Chen Jie used as disinfectant alcohol.

And such liquor compared to the popular rice and yellow wines of this era, was incomparably potent.

Chen Jie brought out two bowls, and Chen Heng poured a bowl for each of them. Then, the monk laughed and said, ”Ha ha, you Mianshui County people are really nice. In the afternoon, someone invited the monk to eat half a roasted chicken, and in the evening, someone invited the monk for a drink, interesting, interesting.”

Saying that, the monk rummaged through his tattered pocket, then pulled out half a roasted chicken, picked up the bowl of liquor on the table, and said, ”Then I won’t be polite.”

With that, the monk drank the bowl of white liquor in one gulp, immediately showing a blissful face, ”Ah~ good liquor, good liquor!”

Seeing this, Chen Jie remarked, ”Great tolerance, master. Ah Tun.”

Hearing this, Chen Heng immediately went over to pour more liquor, but just after he finished, the monk grabbed the jug from him, causing Chen Heng to stare in surprise. The monk had already snatched the jug and poured the bowl’s liquor back into the jug.

Then, hugging the jug, he gulped down all ten jin of white liquor in one go.

Then, satisfied, he let out a full burp.

Seeing this, Chen Jie was astonished—ten jin of white liquor in one go, would the monk not get drunk?

But the monk, clearly not satisfied, then stretched out his hand and said, ”Another jug.”

Chen Heng, surprised, looked at Chen Jie, who nodded.

Chen Heng immediately brought over another jug, still ten jin, and again, the monk drank it all in one go.

Then, still reaching for more, Chen Heng swallowed nervously. Who drinks like this?

Wondering if he might drink himself to death.

Chen Heng thought as he brought over another jug, and again the monk chuckled and downed it all in one go.

Three large jugs, totaling thirty jin of 60-degree strong white liquor, and the monk had drunk it all in one go, and after he finished, he contentedly burped again.

At this point, Chen Jie looked at the monk and said, ”Master, have you had enough to drink?”

And the monk chuckled and said, ”Chen Jiusi, the monk has traveled a thousand miles to find you; if I didn’t drink a few jugs of your fine liquor, how could I justify my thousand-mile journey!”

Hmm?!!

Seeing the monk call out his name in one breath, Chen Jie was suddenly surprised and looked at the monk. He mentioned he came a thousand miles just to find him?

What is happening.

And at этот time, the monk said, ”What’s with that expression?”

”Do you know Ni Wenjun? He told me to find you. Here, his letter.”

Saying that, the monk slapped a letter in front of Chen Jie.

”Ni, Brother Ni?”

Chen Jie looked amazed!
