The Versatile Master Artist

A new book myth has officially been born!

”Back-up” sold a total of 151,018 copies over the entire Easter holiday.

The standard for a bestseller in the UK book industry is an annual sales volume of over 150,000 copies. Prince Harry’s personal autobiography sold this number in just one week.

This phenomenal book monster continues to maintain its terrifying sales momentum.

It seems that achieving a sales target of two hundred million US dollars this year is an incredibly easy goal.

The sales of ”Back-up” are referred to in the publishing industry as a monster rampaging through the market.

As for the sales of ”Little Prince,” the headline of the morning news of the Thames River Reading Report can summarize the general reaction of the entire book market.

”It’s like the miracle of Jesus’s resurrection! Look, this Easter holiday, God truly descended.”

”Little Prince” sold a total of 194,321 copies throughout the entire Easter book season, almost reaching 200,000 in weekly sales.

You should know that the total first edition print run of ”Little Prince” was only 300,000 copies!

Also, this is just the sales number of ”Little Prince” in the British Isles alone.

Additionally, in the Canada region, Australia region, United States region, and French-speaking Area, the smallest sales were in the thousands.

In fact,

On one hand, the publishing group had offered five times the salary and bonuses, urging all printing factories under Scholastic Group to work overtime during the Easter holiday to print the second batch of one million additional copies of ”Little Prince” to market.

On the other hand, in the remaining days of the Easter holiday, all the in-stock copies of ”Little Prince” in major physical bookstores were already sold out.

Even the purchase link on Amazon Mall showed that after purchasing now, there is no exact shipping time available.

This still could not hinder the popularity of ”Little Prince.”

Even scalpers appeared to resell ”Little Prince”!

The world is never short of the wealthy willing to spend a little money to satisfy their curiosity.

In secondhand marketplaces like Ebay, a new edition of ”Little Prince” was temporarily priced over 70 Euros.

Over a week since its release, the first batch of printed books is sold out, while the number of actual paid pre-orders exceeds the number of printed books, creating an unprecedented phenomenon in the book publishing industry.

Another even larger phenomenon occurred on Goodreads, the world’s largest book rating website.

Goodreads, like Imdb and Douban, implements a viewer rating system.

The maximum score is 5 points.

Book review websites are generally stricter than movie review websites, and a book with over 10,000 ratings exceeding 4 points is considered a publication with a fairly good reputation.

The two Princes engaged in a fierce sales competition during the Easter holiday.

In terms of positive ratings, it was a one-sided dominant trend.

It wasn’t that ”Back-up” wasn’t good enough, but that the new edition of ”Little Prince” was simply too strong.

In fact, the cultural level of Western netizens is generally not as high as many imagine.

They also don’t particularly love to read those obscure and difficult serious literature.

The top three in Goodreads’ ”Eternal Best Literary Masterpieces” section currently are ”Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” ”The Hunger Games,” and ”Twilight City,” demonstrating this point.

In the comment sections of great works like ”Ulysses” and ”Ghost House,” numerous netizens have given one-star reviews, claiming ”they couldn’t understand it at all.”

Yet, books like ”Little Prince,” which are artistic, fresh, and include stunning illustrations, have both elegance and no reading threshold, being profound just right.

Originally, the Townesman Group’s ”Little Prince” held a 4.31 rating, ranking 7th in the overall list.

”Back-up” currently has 260,000 people rating it, with an overall score of 3.91, slightly lower than the top in the biography category, ”Steve Jobs’ Biography,” with a score of 4.12.

This counts as generally good reviews.

But compared to ”Little Prince,” it appears humble, not even worthy to hold shoes.

The Scholastic version of ”Little Prince” currently scores as high as 4.87, skydiving to the top of the overall list.

It leads ”Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” which ranks second, by nearly 0.37 points.

There is certainly the reason that ”Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” has 8.7 million people who rated it, whereas ”Little Prince,” just released, has fewer than 30,000 ratings.

On the other hand, it also shows that this book has both strong sales and reputation.

Even the Scholastic Chairman of the board, who was prepared to retire from the Sect Leader’s position, personally flew by private jet from New York to London, bringing celebratory champagne for the entire Little Prince project team.

While the explosive sales of ”Little Prince” continue, on the other side of the Eurasia continent.

A dragonfly skims low over the lawn, its long wings quivering at high speed, its yellow-green abdomen blending with the surroundings, reflecting the sky’s sunlight.

A few feet away from the mist and fog, amber pupils from Death God’s eyes are firmly fixed on it not far away.

The moment it sees those gaudy creatures swinging flirtatiously in the grass, the ancestral predator memory awakens within its body.

The newly grown fat on its butt and belly over the past few days couldn’t resist its wild heart, ready to enjoy itself as its muscles, squeezed by the little master, dissipate its ambitious aspirations.

Three million years ago.

Its ancestor, the saber-tooth tiger, chased Australopithecus in the undergrowth, howling and leaping, and four thousand years ago, on the banks of the Nile River, it was regarded as a mysterious phenomenon offered by Egyptians on the altar as God.

Beneath its fluffy tail and round head, blood related to both tigers and leopards flowed.

It is not the meaty toy of female human infants, it is the king of the whole orphanage!
