The Versatile Master Artist

It seemed that Mr. Tree Sloth was a bit hesitant.

Even though the other party showed he was online, he hesitated for a long time before phrasing his message. It wasn’t until Gu Weijing was nearly home that the second message was sent.

”Don’t worry about the pressure from Oil Painting Magazine, I’ll find a way to solve it. As I’ve said before, beautiful artwork speaks for itself—please believe in the power of this statement.”

”No matter what happens, I’ll be by your side.”

Gu Weijing received the message on his phone, took out the sample copy of the Little Prince from his backpack, and looked at the dedication on the title page.

He used to think that Mr. Tree Sloth wrote this famous art saying just because the other party was also an Oil Painting Magazine subscriber and did it casually.

Now he saw the video of Miss Ilina’s speech at the shareholders’ meeting of the Oil Painting Magazine.

Gu Weijing had a vague association.

Maybe Mr. Tree Sloth’s relationship with Oil Painting Magazine is deeper than he imagined.

It’s very likely that this middle-aged gentleman already knew something when he sent him this sample book.

March 25th.

Time flew by in a blink.

In just a few days, the online discussion about Lady Detective Cat and the Little Prince not only didn’t diminish, but it seemed to be intensifying.

The brilliant advertisement campaign undertaken by Scholastic influenced more than just Koizumi Katsuko.

In fact,

Out of the $3.6 million promotional budget, besides $1.6 million spent on TV stations across places like subway stations in various regions in the United Kingdom, North America, and Canada.

The remaining $2 million was entirely converted into online marketing on YouTube and TikTok.

Scholastic’s advertising department has long-term collaboration agreements with internet companies like Google, under a million-dollar ad contract, with CPM (cost per thousand impressions) compressed to around $4.

$2 million can replay the ad video 500 million times before the public, much more cost-effective than traditional advertising platforms.

Basically, within these few days in the eyes of big data model algorithms, any background behavior and consumption habits that can relate video site users to publishing house book promotion seasons and the Little Prince, will have played the promotional clip of the Little Prince.

Some more than once.

The effectiveness of Scholastic Group’s promotional clip this time was surprisingly good.

Even though many people habitually chose to skip ads, quite a few users were attracted to seriously watch the 30-second video from start to finish.

The mystery of what that fairy tale book was that brought a smile to the little girl’s face, stirred up the curiosity of countless people.

Even the promotional links on Amazon and other e-commerce platforms were clicked nearly a million times.

The keyword ”Scholastic Group promotional film” ranked within the top three hundred daily searches in some regions in North America and Europe.

Twitter’s backend statistics saw the hot words even enter the top one hundred and fifty.

A fairy tale book is not like A-level commercial blockbusters or celebrity gossip it can occupy headlines.

Although Scholastic Group’s ad was novel, it couldn’t compare to the Super Bowl’s million-dollar-a-second halftime commercials.

To have such an influence.

Even the staff handling related affairs on YouTube were shocked by the daily ad feedback rate.

Netizens’ eyes are bright, and the masses also harbor many a Sherlock Holmes.

It wasn’t long before those who watched both the promotional video and the Oil Painting Magazine shareholder resolution video keenly noticed the completely identical appearance from a distance between the fairy tale cover in the hand of the black little girl and the sample copy of the Little Prince Miss Ilina mentioned Scholastic Group is about to launch.

Case closed!

As a result, this matter quickly spread across major art forums.

Those willing to follow this matter are inherently curious people.

Many of them opened Scholastic Publishing Company’s official e-commerce platform on Amazon on this day, March 25th.

Even many people in the financial circles were refreshing their phones.

Whether or not they intended to buy, they at least planned to check out the reputation of this Little Prince which kept climbing.

Being collectively criticized by masters is also a capability!

Among these people was Kelly, a third-year student in the Fashion Design Department at the Royal Academy of Arts.

”Hey, Kelly, you shouldn’t have dragged me along…”

The round-faced confidante looked regretfully annoyed at the underground track passing outside the London subway window and said with a hint of regret and grievance: ”This afternoon is the opening ceremony of Berlin Fashion Week, there’s an outdoor viewing party at building 3 on campus, if we had time to squeeze into the subway, even if not absorbing new fashion design inspiration, wouldn’t it taste good to have fries and beer with those naked handsome guys there!”

”Alright. I promise you won’t regret going, I’m afraid it’ll be sold out if we’re late.”

Kelly looked at the electronic watch on her wrist, clasped her hands behind her head in anticipation, and told her confidante: ”Having not seen it in person, it’s difficult to accurately recommend to you how that perfect illustrated miracle looks.”

Since attending the market research meeting of Scholastic Publishing Group.

The blonde girl kept in her heart that beautiful brushwork, or rather ”cutting skill,” illustrating the Little Prince unlike anything else on earth.

What is art?

This is true art.

Kelly insisted on buying that edition of the Little Prince to collections.

Every moment after attending market research, she couldn’t wait to see the complete version of Lady Detective Cat’s illustration whole images.

She was tired of waiting for the slow logistics delivery from Amazon’s British Zone.

This afternoon, at half-past one, there’s going to be a Little Prince signing event at Waterstones on Oxford Street, London.

Translation author Charlie Hawke will personally attend the event.

Kelly was prepared to go directly to the signing event to buy a copy of the new edition of the Little Prince and take it home to read slowly.

Before departing from school, Kelly had also nearly dragged half-pulled her dorm mate confidante along.

”Sold out? Huh, girl, being in an ad is certainly impressive, but, yes, you’ve fallen so deep you barely have basic judgment skills!”

The confidante glanced at her roommate sitting in front of her, gave a humph, and angrily kicked her with her toes.

Just then.

The subway gradually came to a halt, the outside electronic billboard flashed the promotional ad from Scholastic Publishing Group with Kelly’s appearance.

Being one of the two main figures in the ad.

Kelly too enjoyed the feeling of being a star.

This Easter promotional video offers far more exposure than those seven-line actors who claim to be stars after appearing in a small beer brewery’s advertisement in unpopular time slots on unpopular TV stations watched by only tens of thousands.

The confidante also felt a small sense of envy for Kelly’s good luck.

In the world of rock ’n’ roll, with entertainment aplenty in Britain, who doesn’t have a big star dream?

”Kelly, honestly tell your sister, weren’t the shots in the ad just acting or staged?”

The confidante watched the big screen for two seconds, lowered her head, and asked quietly.

She knew well there’s advertising law as the premise there; Scholastic Group, a company with a market value of over tens of billions of dollars, couldn’t be stupid enough to risk a huge fine for consumer deception.

The confidante still couldn’t quite believe it.

She had watched the shareholder review video.

A member of the Oil Painting Magazine shareholder group includes a judge from the Turner Watercolor Award Committee, currently the most heavyweight and authoritative art award in the UK.

The person is even the vice principal of the Royal Academy of Arts where they study.

A veritable national treasure in the UK art scene.

How could a work criticized negatively by such people possibly hold such heart-change power?

”If you have ever held Lady Detective Cat’s work, believe me, you would also be instantly conquered by her magic.”

Kelly’s eyes shone with the light of reminiscence.

”But the Oil Painting…”

”They’re lying, just like that.” Kelly said firmly.

”Girl, listen to my words, don’t say this at school.”

The round-faced confidante stuck her tongue out, made a funny face at Kelly.

The art spirit advocates diversity, openness, and freedom, but going against mainstream academic viewpoints also requires great courage.

Being unique often means isolation or even implicit bullying.

Until Kelly and her confidante walked along the dim corridor to the surface at Oxford Street’s subway station, the two were still in fierce debate over this issue.

”Huh?”

Sunlight bathed the confidante’s face, the round-faced girl blinked lightly.

She was surprised to find.

The crowd of readers preparing to attend the signing event at Waterstones was larger than she imagined.

There was already a long line formed in front of the bookstore.
