Ning An's Wild Wish System

First Class Merit?!

Before Ning An could speak, the viewers in the live stream had already exploded.

”Whoa! Did I hear that right? Officer Xiaoli wished for a First Class Merit?”

”Ever heard the saying? You get Third Class Merit standing up, Second Class Merit lying down, First Class Merit in a coffin. Does he have a death wish?”

”I know a good buddy, lost an arm and a leg on some mission, and only then got a Second Class Merit. Is Officer Xiaoli really not valuing his life?”

”Above Second Class Merit without serious injury or disability, a First Class Merit without dying, and you’re a legend. The county annals would dedicate a page to you.”

”...”

Ning An also stared at Officer Xiaoli, feeling a bit of a headache: ”First Class Merit, are you crazy?”

”In your line of duty, most people who get a First Class Merit end up in a coffin. Are you sure?”

Officer Xiaoli chuckled: ”But haven’t there been those who didn’t end up in a coffin? Besides, getting a First Class Merit could do wonders for my promotion, and wishing for this is especially beneficial for my personal development. Why not?”

Ning An wanted to say something more, but was silenced by a look from Officer Xiaoli.

Between men, nothing more needs to be said; a glance is enough.

”Alright, then let’s offer incense.”

Ning An got up. Since the other didn’t care about life and death, what more could he say?

He picked up three sticks of incense from the incense table and handed them to Officer Xiaoli.

”Offer incense in front of the incense burner, wish inside the main hall.”

Officer Xiaoli already knew the procedure. Ning An only reminded him briefly and then stepped aside, not interfering further.

Just as Officer Xiaoli bowed his head to offer incense and make a wish, the system panel started to pop up.

[Gender: Male]

[Occupation: Police Officer]

[Name: Li Fei]

[Wish: I hope today I can solve a case that earns a First Class Merit, so my childhood friend’s parents can see that the incense at Changchun Temple is effective!]

[Unusual Gratitude Method: Ten minutes later, at the foot of Changchun Temple, he caught a bicycle thief. At first, he thought it was just an ordinary civil case, but this bicycle was a Trek Butterfly bicycle!

A bicycle worth over ninety thousand, it must be filed for investigation, in the courtroom...]

Ning An was already used to the system only giving half the information.

What he was more concerned about was that Trek Butterfly bicycle.

”A bicycle worth over ninety thousand!”

As a child in his past life, his dream was to have his own gear bike.

As for a Trek Butterfly bicycle, the price was something he couldn’t even dream of.

Now that it appeared just like that, he couldn’t help but feel a bit sentimental.

But then, Ning An felt a bit puzzled. Even though this bicycle was worth ninety thousand, it’s hardly enough to merit a First Class Merit.

Even by adding one or two zeros to ninety thousand, at most it would be a Third Class Merit.

”This is a bit strange.”

Ning An muttered to himself.

He was particularly curious about what the system hadn’t shown.

How could a case that doesn’t even warrant a Third Class Merit turn into a First Class Merit!

Before long, Officer Xiaolin finished making his wish and came out of the main hall.

Even though he had unwavering faith in Changchun Temple, when it came to himself, Officer Xiaoli couldn’t help but be a bit nervous: ”Little Daoist, I also have a wish. Can it come true today? Isn’t this a bit rushed?”

Ning An chuckled and said, ”Rest assured, it definitely won’t be.”

Hearing Ning An’s reassurance, Officer Xiaoli finally felt his anxious heart settle.

Although he knew it was just reassurance, Ning An’s words seemed much more effective.

Just as Officer Xiaoli was about to leave, he stopped, turned to Ning An, and said, ”Little Daoist, why don’t you come with me?”

”Like those live TV shows, follow along but don’t intrude in the protagonist’s life.”

Seeing Officer Xiaoli blinking, Ning An gave a hearty laugh, ”Sure.”

As a frequent visitor to Changchun Temple, Officer Xiaoli naturally knew that after making a wish, Changchun Temple usually fulfills it in a short time.

When there’s an interesting wish, Ning Bo would secretly follow the incense burner, capturing the moments.

Officer Xiaoli believed his wish was also quite interesting and would attract the attention of live stream viewers.

Moreover, Ning An following along could let the old couple see how effective the incense at Changchun Pass was, prompting his prior invitation.

Originally, Ning An intended to sneak along, but with Officer Xiaoli’s invitation, he naturally agreed readily.

After packing up, leaving the temple door ajar, Ning An followed him down the mountain.

The viewers in the live stream, seeing this scene, indeed were all filled with anticipation.

”From today on, Officer Xiaoli is my most admired person. I swear, my favorite officer is none other than Officer Xiaoli!”

”Hey, I think you’re just excited because they let you enjoy the show, huh?”

”So what, a good officer who actively lets me enjoy the show is a rare treasure!”

Ning An looked at the comments in the live stream and shook his head with a smile.

To be honest.

He also wanted to know how a petty thief and a Trek Butterfly bicycle could create a First Class Merit for Officer Xiaoli.

And so, Ning An followed down to the foot of Changchun Temple.

In the meantime, nothing happened.

The viewers in the live stream couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious.

”No way? No way? It’s been almost ten minutes, and nothing has happened.”

”I’m dying here; I’ve already had two bursts of excitement, and it hasn’t started yet. If I do it again, I might just fall asleep.”

”Stop getting excited, all you’re doing is making water, excitement won’t satisfy the onlookers. Open an app and listen to some calming music.”
