Ning An's Wild Wish System

At the founding era, when the Daoist sects were counted, there were more than eighty sects across the land, but in the end, fewer than fifty arrived at Shaoyang Mountain.

The biggest issue was that many sects lost their inheritance over time.

Moreover, several sects sent disciples who were nothing but loafers, and were directly eliminated.

Aside from some major mountains, other sects and factions were lucky to send one or two disciples, and for those with few disciples, even the sect leader came personally.

In the end, the forty-eight sects that came to Shaoyang Mountain consisted of eighteen from Zhengyi and thirty from Quanzhen, and the quality was clear at a glance.

These two Daoist traditions have been competing since over a thousand years ago, and while they may not be mortal enemies, they definitely turn red with anger when they meet.

Yet in the current unique situation, under official enforcement, people from these two Daoist traditions not only cultivate together but also eat and sleep in the same place, which no one can get used to.

Previously, this would have been impossible!

Those who manage to arrive here are renowned figures in the martial world, and when prodigies meet, they also turn red with envy.

But with official suppression, no one dares to make bold moves, at most there are constant minor frictions.

Zhengyi and Quanzhen have different precepts, like Quanzhen, which strictly abstains from any meat.

Meanwhile, Zhengyi allows eating meat except for beef and dog meat, as long as it’s not a fasting day.

In the eyes of ordinary people, Zhengyi naturally seems more aligned with the image of Natural Daoist Skill.

But in the eyes of Quanzhen, Zhengyi is just ruffians among the Daoist sects, and they look down on them.

Just like today’s lunch banquet, Quanzhen only has vegetarian dishes without any trace of meat, while Zhengyi’s side features a plentiful offering including meat and vegetables.

As soon as both sides took their seats, a sigh was heard from the entrance of the dining hall:

”All things have spirit; as people who have renounced the world, we should strictly demand of ourselves, eating filth only adds to our karmic hindrances, Boundless Heavenly Respect.”

After these words, a middle-aged Daoist walked in from the entrance.

Appearing to be in his forties, dressed in a ceremonial robe, with an unblemished appearance and a posture like a pine tree, he walks amidst clouds and cranes, embodying the demeanor of an Immortal.

Many of the Quanzhen Daoist Masters present are older than him, yet all stood respectfully and nodded slightly.

This person was the Temple Master Xu Qinglai of Baiyun Temple, holding the leader’s position among all Quanzhen sects.

At the same time, his cultivation level was the highest here, whether among Quanzhen or Zhengyi!

Even Zhang Yuanyi, despite having a decent level of cultivation, fell short due to the age factor.

Xu Qinglai was the disciple chosen by Baiyun Temple’s former Temple Master after spending over ten years.

Upon seeing Xu Qinglai for the first time, the old Temple Master laughed heartily and directly stated: With this disciple, Baiyun Temple is set to prosper greatly.

After being brought to Baiyun Temple by the old Temple Master, he directly became the former Temple Master’s entry disciple, gifted and with extraordinary bone structure.

The cultivation technique he practiced was the ”Supreme Jade Emperor Heart Seal Scripture,” the most exquisite Inner Alchemy Method of the Quanzhen Sect.

It focuses on Embracing the Essence and Guarding Unity, being Calm as Still Water, Vomiting the Old and Absorbing the New, achieving The Great Dao Can Be Achieved!

Thus cultivating Meditation, Guardian Yellow; Life-extending Medicine, Soul Reviving Potion.

Swallowing a Golden Core into the belly, one rejuvenates and lengthens life; no matter how many side sect techniques, it drives all its kind to madness.

Immortals for generations have benefited from it, escaping from the human world to ascend to heaven; If the secrets are found, the Golden Core Medicine will prolong life indefinitely.

With this, cultivate the path to immortality to repay the grace of the master and thank the heavens!

This cultivation technique, when practiced, can benefit the mind and body on a small scale or prove the Dao and attain truth on a large scale.

Consistent recitation will not only lead to the awakening of profound truths, gradual understanding of true interpretations, but also attract higher Immortals for divine assistance and support.

Although the cultivation technique is wonderfully profound, it also depends on the individual’s bone structure.

If a worthless fool were to practice, even giving him a volume of the Celestial Book, he would not comprehend it.

Just like in Journey to the West, why didn’t the Great Saint teach many of the mystical techniques he learned to his disciples and grandchildren?

The reason is simple; those monkeys simply couldn’t understand it, let alone start learning.

This is why the path of cultivation places the greatest importance on aptitude.

For someone like Xu Qinglai, calling him peerlessly outstanding in terms of bone structure is not an exaggeration.

His cultivation speed was the fastest, plus Baiyun Temple’s transcendent status, which made him vaguely become the leader in this Daoist School.

Upon hearing these words, the Zhengyi Sect’s hearts erupted with anger, preparing to counter, when suddenly there was a cold snort from the door:

”Humph, hypocrisy is just hypocrisy!”

”With the words Natural Daoist Skill, can you Quanzhen, reversing human habits, truly comprehend it?”

As the words fell, four people walked in from outside.

They had just finished debating scripture in the quiet room, including Zhang Yuanyi and naturally the younger, more hot-headed Lin Nanbei who spoke out furiously earlier.

Zhang Yuanyi has yet to speak, but Song Liang couldn’t hold back, decidedly not indulging Xu Qinglai:

”If chickens and ducks are not to be killed, what benefit is feeding them? If cattle and horses aren’t killed, what use is rubber from their hides? If pigs and sheep aren’t killed, what is left for ritual offerings? If one argues against killing, bamboo and wood shouldn’t be cut, where does firewood come from? If grass and trees aren’t felled, there is nothing for human abodes; isn’t that absurd?”

”Without causing harm to the eggs, and not injuring the young, nor wasting carelessly. Use them when necessary, choosing the largest to kill, why call it killing? Horses contribute to the morning duty, cattle nurture humans by nature, die naturally from age, why the need for killing? Isn’t there a use for bamboo and wood? When the seedlings grow, don’t break them, cut with precise timing, why call them useless?”

At this time, Zhang Yuanyi also spoke slowly: ”Junior brother, you’ve learned far too much, and perhaps forgot the fundamentals of our Daoist family.”

”Absurd! Our Daoist Family’s fundamentals, Quanzhen has its own interpretation, hmph!”

Without waiting for Xu Qinglai to argue, naturally there was an elder Daoist Master from Quanzhen who stood up to argue on behalf of Xu Qinglai.
