Ning An's Wild Wish System

Lin Yanke asked suspiciously, ”Aren’t you the person sitting next to us on the plane?”

”Yes, and I’m also your exclusive liaison.”

The young woman smiled, extended her hand to Lin Yanke, and introduced herself openly, ”Nice to meet you both, my name is Li Nan. I’ll be stationed in Z City from now on, pleased to make your acquaintance.”

Li Nan, young, looked about twenty-four or twenty-five, with well-defined features and a natural air of heroism.

She graduated from the National Science and Technology University two years ago, went straight into a national agency upon graduation, was later transferred to the Supernatural Bureau, and is now appointed as the liaison for Changchun Temple.

Being young themselves, after a conversation, even if they didn’t become friends, the atmosphere turned cordial.

After passing through security, stepping out of the station, tranquility instantly transformed into the bustle of the human world.

The only thing unchanged was that the air inside and outside the station was the same, a misty gray.

However, Ning An and Lin Yanke quickly noticed something different, a slight coolness drifting in the misty air, and when they exchanged glances, there was some surprise in their eyes.

In this city, there exists a Grotto Heaven Blessed Land that can influence the entire city.

Perhaps it won’t be long before people in the Capital City can practice just by sitting at home.

Before the two could dwell on it further, with a screeching sound, a Red Flag limousine stopped in front of them.

After getting in, they headed straight for the city center.

Shortly after, the car stopped halfway, and the elderly Zuo Er from before got into the passenger side, smiling, ”Daoist Ning, you don’t mind, do you?”

”Of course not, as the host wishes.”

Soon, the limousine continued on, but this time without a destination in mind.

In formal attire, the old man gazed at the bustling traffic and people coming and going, sighing, ”Our society is like an anthill, and we are like worker ants, busy our whole lives for it.”

Ning An looked out the window, calmly said, ”Indeed, so worker ants are workers their whole lives, ants are ants for life, but we humans have become the rulers of this planet.”

The old man paused and said, ”Then I’ll be straightforward, regarding Lianshan, what kind of rights do you want?”

”We haven’t decided yet, but we won’t disrupt the natural landscape. We can outline a suitable range, and we just need the area within that range.”

”I was really afraid you were going to take the whole mountain range.”

The old man chuckled faintly, feeling more at ease.

To be honest, he feared that Ning An would make an outrageous demand to take over the whole mountain range.

If they really did, then Dragon Country would have to seriously think about what kind of measures to take.

”After marking off the area, what are your thoughts on the perimeter?”

The old man spoke again.

”We just want to find a place suitable for our own practice, and have no other intentions.”

Ning An’s idea was simple: we have no ulterior motives; we are merely practitioners.

”Okay, we understand.”

The old man nodded and smiled, ”In that case, how about this, we take care of the surrounding area for you, how about it?”

Ning An turned back in surprise, his tone filled with doubt, ”Are you sure?”

The meaning behind the old man’s words was also simple: once the area is marked, it’s yours inside, and nominally yours outside too, but we help manage it.

That means, as long as Ning An and the others aren’t doing anything outrageous inside the mountains, the Dragon Country official stance is one of tacit approval.

With merely a few words, they granted such power and benefits to Changchun Temple.

But Ning An furrowed his brow, looking at the old man, waiting for the follow-up.

After all, the notion that good things fall from the sky doesn’t exist, and there’s no such thing as visiting the temple without a reason.

It’s the ancient tradition of Dragon Country to give first and request later.

”However, there is something...”

Ning An and Lin Yanke exchanged a smile, here it comes.

...

Enjiang Town, just past mid-morning.

The town is not far from Y City, about an hour’s drive south from the outskirts of Y City.

There are two or three main streets on each side, with a population of thirty to fifty thousand, lacking economic advantages.

Before the reforms, there were a few textile mills here, bringing prosperity for some time.

But later, due to policy requirements, they all closed down, and now the only asset is an entire ancient-style town.

Because it’s close to the city, the local people live relatively stable lives, with little threat from bandits or troops, hence ancient buildings are relatively well-preserved.

Many official residences, pavilions, and towers left behind by high-ranking officials from the past, as well as bustling marketplaces and residential areas in the West Market, the streets paved with green bricks and tiles, bustling with traffic, and rows of small boats aligned.

Everywhere the eye can see, whether near or far, products of modern society are almost invisible, high-rise buildings, telephone poles, air conditioners are not to be seen.

It is precisely this almost time-travel-like layout that has attracted many tourists, prompting local government to seize the opportunity and vigorously develop the tourism industry, successfully transforming the town.

”Outside this courtyard, once we’ve toured this town, we’ll have free time for half an hour, and our next event is water jet flying!”

”Wow, leader, is it the kind where you can fly up?”

”Haha, I’ll say no more, you’ll know once you try it out.”

With a burst of chatter, a group appeared on the west side of the town, dressed in the same style and color of clothes, with both men and women, young and old.

This group of over twenty people, mostly from nearby counties, came because of its reputation. After having the local specialty breakfast, they began touring the ancient town, with the noon activity arranged on the river.
