Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure

”While this operation is a success, we can’t let our guards down yet.”

That was the message that was passed onto the different units that had participated in this raid.

At first it seemed like they were just warning everyone to be cautious with how they handled the aftereffects of the raid. But it turned out that there was much more to this.

It wasn’t announced to everyone, it was only announced to the people that were in the capital city.

After all, this was a situation that only affected the capital city.

”One of the young bosses is still on the run?”

I was surprised to hear this from the lead detective, especially since he immediately came to see me after he came back from reporting.

Since he was the leader of our raid group, it was only natural that he would receive special information like this. Only it surprised me that he would share this information with me.

Even if he thought that I had an identity that I didn’t have, it didn’t mean that he had a reason to share this information with me.

But I soon figured out why he had done this.

It was because I was being dragged into the meeting for the manhunt.

Since there was an escaped fugitive, it was only natural that a manhunt would be held to track him down. The problem was that I really didn’t seem to fit in this place since all of the people here were quite important.

Members of the royal guards, members of the army, and members of the special forces. All of these people could be considered elites among elites when it came to matters like this.

It wasn’t a place for even a lead detective like my boss, much less a detective like me.

But the lead detective brought me here on someone’s orders, so even if they looked at us strangely, there wasn’t anyone that actually told us to leave.

”It’s actually him...”

Seeing the picture of the young boss that had escaped, I couldn’t help feeling that this really was an interesting twist of fate. After all, this young boss was someone that I had a past with.

It was the young boss that I had reached out to when I had been investigating the case.

I really never expected to see his face again, but it seemed like he had been smart enough to escape.

From the reports that I heard, I couldn’t help feeling that I was somehow related.

”Is it because of my sting operation that he had an idea of what was happening? Even if that was the case, he shouldn’t have been aware of it that much...”

The only guess that I could come up with was that his instincts were good.

He had noticed something that even I wasn’t aware of, which was why he had chosen to run before they could close the net around him.

But now that he was the only one that was left, it meant that there was an even bigger net that had been cast.

The entire capital was under lockdown because of this one young boss.

”Right now, we have a general idea of where he is. We’ll continue to close the net until we find him. Once that happens, it’ll be your turn to take him down.” The royal guard that was leading the meeting summarized everything like this.

The eyes of the ones that were sitting at the table all filled with determination.

It was only expected of elites like this, that they would have this kind of reaction to this brief.

Only their expressions soon changed when they heard the royal guard’s next words.

Everyone thought that this matter was over after that report, but it turned out that this wasn’t the case.

”The lead detective that will be in charge of searching for the target will be...”

A wry smile appeared on my face seeing them all look at me like this.

It was only natural that they weren’t happy about the fact that I had been chosen, but I had no idea what was happening either. The only one that seemed excited about this was the lead detective.

The way that he looked at me was as if he was saying, ”I knew it.”

But in the end, there wasn’t anyone that said anything.

Though they looked at me like this, they were elites that knew how to hold in their feelings and follow orders.

Even if I were screaming at them internally, ”Say something!”

There wasn’t a single person that said anything in the end.

Once that was settled, the royal guard that was in charge of the meeting dismissed everyone else except for me. Even the other royal guards were dismissed even though they were from the same organization.

”So what do you want me to do?” The way that I said this was as if I was giving up on trying to hide it. After all, the way that the royal guard looked at me showed that he already knew.

He was most likely someone that had been sent by the royal guard captain to brief me.

”The captain said that since you’re the one that caused this mess, you’re then one that will clean it up.”

I narrowed my eyes to look at him when I heard this.

I honestly couldn’t tell if he meant that I was the one that was responsible for the whole thing or just the young boss escaping.

But it didn’t matter what he meant since I wasn’t going to take responsibility for either of these things.

”You won’t be able to go back anyway since you’ve already revealed yourself, right?” The royal guard said as if he knew everything.

A wry smile appeared on my face when I heard this before I said, ”How would you know that? If you didn’t make things worse, then it might have been possible.”

But it was a lie to say that I believed this.

Since that was the case, I might as well also experience this.
