A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1285: Chapter 1285: I’m Not Softhearted

The fury in his heart was rising rapidly, and Zhuang Yi wished he could bring Jiang Jingheng and his mother over to give them a good beating.

A joyful female laughter suddenly stopped the flames from burning.

He stared blankly at the woman who was laughing softly with her lips pressed together and asked, ”What’s wrong?”

”I’m just teasing you,” Mu Yan smiled, ”They treat me quite well, but some people can’t stand me having it good, always trying to trip me up.”

Zhuang Yi heaved a sigh of relief, knowing who she was referring to. His expression darkened, ”Don’t worry, since I’m here, I won’t let anyone bully you.”

Mu Yan neither agreed nor disagreed and took a sip of water.

Zhuang Yi thought she didn’t believe him, feeling a bit stifled, but he swore that this time he wouldn’t let her down like before.

Otherwise, who knows how long he’d have to wait to hear her call him brother.

Soon, the food was served, and the two ended their conversation.

Halfway through, Jiang Jingheng called, and Mu Yan told him about Zhuang Yi’s visit.

Zhuang Yi directly said, ”No need to arrange a place for me to stay, I’ll just stay at your house.”

He had an expression of being easygoing and non-picky, which left Mu Yan speechless.

Just as she was about to argue, she saw Zhuang Yi looking at her pitifully.

As if if she didn’t agree, he would burst into tears right away.

Mu Yan resisted the urge to tug his ear and said to Jiang Jingheng on the other end of the phone, ”I’ll ask Yu Ma to make more food tonight, you come home early for dinner.”

After hanging up, Mu Yan saw Zhuang Yi’s face light up with a smile, joy unable to be contained.

She pretended not to see, burying her head to eat.

In a well-off family, who would let their own kin stay outside, so that’s why she let Zhuang Yi stay at their house, it wasn’t because she was being soft-hearted.

Soon, they finished eating.

Mu Yan asked him, ”Do you have anywhere else to go? If not, come home with me to drop off your suitcase.”

Zhuang Yi pondered for a bit, ”Going to your house, then coming out again would be a bit troublesome.”

”Hmm?”

”Just leave the suitcase in the car then.”

Mu Yan nodded, ”Okay, so where do you want to go?”

”To see our little brother,” Zhuang Yi replied.

Little brother? Mu Yan was a bit puzzled, she and Zhuang Yi didn’t seem to have a shared younger brother.

Zhuang Yi calmly said, ”Your little brother is my little brother too, right? We’ve known each other for so long, but I’ve never gone to see him, we should be grateful to their family for taking you and Second Aunt in and caring for you all these years.”

Mu Yan paused for a moment, glancing at Zhuang Yi; he was the first in the Zhuang Family to thank the Mu Family for looking after them.

Seeing her silent, Zhuang Yi tentatively asked, ”Is it inconvenient?”

Mu Yan snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head, ”No, let’s go.”

Happiness came too suddenly, Zhuang Yi felt like he was floating, with an unreal sensation, he quickly said, ”You have to tell me what our brother likes to eat and play with, I need to bring him some gifts.”

Mu Yan saw his dazed expression and couldn’t help but smile, ”He’s not picky; anything is fine. But if you can tell him stories about the military, I think he’ll be happier than receiving gifts.”

”Ah, oh, that’s not a problem, anything he wants to know, I can tell him,” Zhuang Yi quickly said, ”But I still need to get a gift, come on, help me pick one out first.”

Saying this, he grabbed Mu Yan’s arm, rushing forward with excitement.

Mu Yan watched his hurried demeanor, feeling helpless, and could only accompany him.
