A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1269: Chapter 1269: Easily Satisfied

In the afternoon, Mu Yan went out to attend an event, and rushed back to the hospital as soon as it ended.

As soon as she entered the ward, she saw Jiang Jingheng sitting on the sofa, scrolling through Weibo on his phone, while Mu Chen was lying on the hospital bed, writing in a diary with a pen in his hand.

The two didn’t communicate, and the atmosphere was harmoniously strange.

If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, Mu Yan could hardly imagine such a scene.

Although she thought Jiang Jingheng was the best man in the world, it was only true for her.

After all, he wasn’t a central heating system that could warm everyone, even if that person was her own younger brother. She even vaguely felt that he didn’t particularly like Chenchen, but she couldn’t say he disliked him either. Loving him just because he was her brother was impossible.

Jiang Jingheng suddenly looked up, saw her come in, and said, ”You’re back.”

”Yeah.” Mu Yan nodded, walked in, and asked, ”When did you get here?”

”Not long ago.” Jiang Jingheng said, standing up to take the bag from her hand, ”Tired?”

”Not really.” Mu Yan said, then turned to Mu Chen, ”How do you feel this afternoon?”

”Pretty good.” Mu Chen closed the diary and looked at Mu Yan, ”Sis, you and brother-in-law should go back, it’s getting late.”

”Didn’t I say I would stay with you tonight?” Mu Yan said with a smile.

Mu Chen opened his mouth but didn’t insist, his gaze fell on Jiang Jingheng, and his expression was extremely complicated.

Jiang Jingheng glanced at him, then said to Mu Yan, ”I’ll take you out for dinner first, and bring you back later.”

Mu Yan wanted to say they’d just eat at the hospital, but seeing his non-negotiable expression, she agreed.

After a while, the caregiver came in, and Jiang Jingheng took Mu Yan out.

In the car, Mu Yan asked, ”Why did you leave work so early to come to the hospital today?”

Jiang Jingheng looked at her, raised his eyebrow, ”What do you think?”

”How would I know.” Mu Yan pouted.

”What else could it be, of course, I missed you.” Jiang Jingheng chuckled.

Mu Yan looked at him skeptically, finding it hard to believe, since they had just seen each other that morning.

As if she had thought of something, the corners of her mouth turned up.

”What are you smiling about?” Jiang Jingheng looked at her in surprise.

Mu Yan looked at him, her eyes sparkling, ”I was wrong before, you’ve always been a good brother-in-law.”

Jiang Jingheng’s eyes flickered slightly, looking at her, ”You used to think I wasn’t a good brother-in-law?”

”Not really, I just felt you and Mu Chen didn’t quite get along, but the fact you came to see him today surprised me.”

Jiang Jingheng raised an eyebrow, ”Did you like me coming to see him?”

”I like that you treat him as a brother, just like I do.” Mu Yan said seriously, ”We’re family.”

Jiang Jingheng lifted a hand to brush her nose, ”Whatever you like, I will do.”

Hearing this, Mu Yan slightly frowned, that wasn’t what she meant to say.

”I hope you won’t always consider my feelings to the point of forcing yourself, I want you to truly feel happy.”

”If you’re happy, then I’ll feel happy.”

Mu Yan felt a pang in her heart, looking at the handsome face of the man, a bittersweet sensation welled up inside her.

Jiang Jingheng pinched her cheek, ”Be good, what do you want for dinner?”

”Whatever you eat, I’ll eat. I don’t want to think about it tonight.”

Jiang Jingheng looked at her puffed-up cheeks and chuckled softly, ”Okay, I’ll choose.”

He leaned over and pecked her on the lips, ”Now I’m very happy.”

Mu Yan gave him a sidelong glance, what kind of heart was that, he was too easily satisfied.
