A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1267: Chapter 1267: Dying of Envy!

Ren Yao felt incredibly pleased seeing the netizens start attacking Mu Yan.

She had always been jealous of Mu Yan, initially because she thought Mu Yan was lucky to have a good manager and good resources. Now, she was jealous because Mu Yan had a good husband.

Why did Young Master Jiang not even glance at her? How was she inferior to Mu Yan?

Looks? Background? Figure? In what aspect was she less than Mu Yan?

The only thing she lost to Mu Yan was luck. If she could marry Young Master Jiang, then it would have been her receiving the award at the Cannes Film Festival.

People with strong jealousy tend to take things for granted, overestimate themselves, and underestimate others.

Anyway, Mu Yan wouldn’t spare her, so she wouldn’t let Mu Yan have an easy time either. In fact, she wanted Jiang Jingheng to see Mu Yan’s true colors—Mu Yan was just a hypocritical woman who didn’t love him at all.

Some people stir up trouble, some blindly follow, but of course, there are also those who maintain clarity.

”There are brainless people every year, especially a lot this year. What does it matter to you if Jiang Jingheng invests in a movie for his own wife? Should he invest in someone else instead? That’s ridiculous. Doesn’t he have the right to decide who the actor is in something he invests in? Why bother investing at all then? Is he just throwing away his money for nothing?”

”I never noticed before, but now I see that the company Jiang Jingheng does film work with is called Yanjing Cultural Investment Co., Ltd. It appeared in every piece Mu Yan has done. Wow, this is a hidden Easter egg we’ve all missed, yet another public display of affection.”

”Don’t dismiss Mu Yan so quickly. Ever since her debut, regardless of the size of the role, her acting skills have always been commendable. Name one drama where she’s been a flop. Did she ever drag down other actors in the crew? What’s this about bringing funds into the group; she was cast based on merit, the rest were selected. If you think it’s unfair, just have your husband invest in you. Aren’t you just jealous she married well? So bitter!”

...

The paid trolls originally intended to blacken Mu Yan’s name, but they were quickly silenced by the netizens’ rebuttals.

Soon, the directors of the works Mu Yan participated in also came forward to speak for her.

Wu Huai V: Recently, ”Time Will Not Betray You” received high ratings, proving my judgment was quite good. Initially, Mu Yan declined the protagonist role due to personal reasons, and it took me quite some effort to persuade her. Of course, I’m not saying she was acting like a diva. What I mean is that one shouldn’t deny an actor’s skills just because of their young age. Now that she’s won the Cannes Best Actress award, her skills have rightfully earned her the title ’teacher’.

Chen Zhou V: Many people like to say I made the actor’s career. On the contrary, I think the actors, through their superb acting, have brought success to my works.

Xiang Lanqiu V: From the beginning, Director Chen decided Mu Yan would be the lead in ”The Best Time”. I was unconvinced and approached Director Chen about it. He told me no actor is suitable for every role. He felt I wasn’t suitable for this film. Admittedly, after seeing the movie, I agree with his choice. Mu Yan was perfect for the role. Once again, congratulations on your award.

Even Xiang Lanqiu came forward to speak, causing the faces of those trolls to metaphorically sting from the backlash.

On Jiang Jingheng’s side, he didn’t hesitate to call Ren Yao’s agency, stating that he didn’t want to see Ren Yao in the entertainment industry anymore.

Ren Yao no longer cared; her intention of exposing Mu Yan was simply for a big payoff.

Though she failed, she had done what she set out to do.

However, to her surprise, when she called, the number was already disconnected.
