A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 973: Chapter 973: Mother and Daughter

Imperial City Hospital, in the ward, Zhuang Chujiao lay on the bed, tears almost falling from the pain.

This time her injuries were real, a large area on her face was grazed, her face was red and swollen, her arm was bruised, hurting badly, but worst of all was her leg, which was truly broken this time.

The cast she despised wrapped around her leg, completely stripping away the beauty of her slender leg; most critically, she was now lying in bed, unable to move at all.

This wasn’t the worst part. After the Zhuang Family learned her leg was broken, they found out she had lied earlier, and were furious, with no one coming to visit.

Liang Rong was also scolded by Mrs. Zhuang over the phone, being told she couldn’t educate her daughter.

Liang Rong felt stifled, unable to retort to her mother-in-law’s scolding.

After hanging up, she wished she could slap Zhuang Chujiao’s face.

But alas, her face was ruined now, nowhere to strike.

Zhuang Chujiao, seeing her mother’s fierce expression, was terribly scared, instinctively wanting to retreat, but there was no way to retreat.

”Mom, I know I was wrong,” she said through clenched teeth, her gaze fixated on Liang Rong’s raised hand.

Liang Rong ground her teeth loudly, wishing she could bite her.

She dropped her hand, glaring at her, ”How many times have you said that? I’ve told you to be honest and stay in the hospital, but you wouldn’t listen, and now everything’s been exposed!”

Zhuang Chujiao knew that after the matter was exposed, things wouldn’t go well for them in the Zhuang Family, but she didn’t want this to happen.

The hospital was so boring, where could she stay? But she dared not say this.

”Remember this clearly, this entire incident was either your doing or advised by a friend, it’s nothing to do with anyone else,” Liang Rong warned.

The two old members of the Zhuang Family never liked her, she didn’t care what they thought, but she worried Shao Yang might hold a grudge.

Looking at Liang Rong’s eagerness to dissociate from her, Zhuang Chujiao’s sensitive nerves were touched; it had always been like this.

Other mothers could selflessly sacrifice for their daughters, but her mother always treated her as a tool, a tool to please men.

She sarcastically said, ”Even if this was my idea, you are my mom; do you think Dad wouldn’t suspect you? After all, you’ve been the one by my side day and night these past few days; wouldn’t you know the details? That would be very negligent.”

She emphasized the words ”day and night” and ”negligent,” because apart from when Zhuang Shaoyang visited, her good mother was never really there.

Liang Rong’s face alternated between green and white, eyes filled with viciousness; she hadn’t expected her daughter to speak to her like this.

If she’d known, she should have strangled her back then.

No, she couldn’t do it, without her, Shao Yang wouldn’t...

With a stiff face, she said, ”It seems you have a lot of resentment towards me.”

”I wouldn’t dare, after all you are my mom,” Zhuang Chujiao said, looking up at her, ”So, don’t think of escaping on your own, otherwise I’ll tell Dad that it was you who ordered people to chase after Zhuang Ning and Zhuang Xiangnuan. If we are to be disliked, let’s be disliked together, since it’s just the two of us relying on each other from the start anyway.”

It’s indeed unwise to leave a handle for others, otherwise you’ll be controlled for a lifetime.

Liang Rong’s stiff face suddenly bloomed into a smile, ”No way, I won’t let your father scold you, if blame is to be had, blame me for not teaching you well.”

Zhuang Chujiao looked at the smile on her face, feeling a chill down her spine.

She only wanted her mother to care more for her, she had no other intention.

She was about to explain when suddenly the door swung open, and Zhuang Shaoyang stormed in, furious.

Her expression changed slightly, exclaiming, ”Dad!”
