A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 972: Chapter 972: Venting Anger

Guan Chao had both arms broken by someone, which was big news in the military circles in Beijing, and it spread overnight.

However, after checking the surveillance system, it was found that this segment happened to be not captured, or someone forcibly erased it.

Countless people speculated as to who was behind this attack on the arrogant only son of the Guan Family, with several people even listed in the suspects.

It was simply because Guan Chao was usually too wild, having many friends, and offending many people, but very few dared to offend someone as fierce as him.

Guan Chao had a suspicion but thought it unlikely, since he hadn’t even spoken a few words with that person.

Moreover, he didn’t think that person would dare to target him.

As for the investigation, being the third generation of military personnel, his family never liked their private lives to be exposed, so this matter had to be pressed down and secretly investigated to avoid uncovering anything that might be unfavorable to him.

But after investigating thoroughly, no results were found, Guan Chao could only suffer in silence, which was as uncomfortable as swallowing a fly.

Mu Yan learned about this matter from Ruan Xinyu. On the day she returned from Beijing, she called to ask if she had arrived, asked about the weather, and reminded her to keep warm, showing great concern.

This time, she called mainly to tell her about Zhuang Chujiao breaking her leg.

”Didn’t she break her leg? She’s walking around in a cast.” Mu Yan was a bit puzzled.

Ruan Xinyu’s tone was not very good on the phone, ”The so-called broken leg is just a ruse played by her and her mother, asking a doctor friend to help her pretend to have broken her leg. She’s perfectly fine, without a scratch, and yet, using the hospitalization as an excuse, she secretly went out at night to play with friends, and then carelessly fell down the stairs, actually breaking her leg.”

Mu Yan felt her mood was quite complicated; gloating over someone’s misfortune is usually something only small-minded people do.

But right now, she was truly gleeful and satisfied.

It’s not just because Zhuang Chujiao broke her leg, but because she wanted to ridicule how Liang Rong’s elaborate plans failed thanks to a foolish teammate. Now, let’s see how she deals with Grandpa and Grandma’s cold faces.

”Your grandmother was so angry when she heard this that she almost passed out. Jiaojiao really broke her heart this time.” Ruan Xinyu sighed and said.

Mu Yan didn’t quite agree, Grandma wasn’t always angrier with Zhuang Chujiao, yet she forgave her every time, right?

This time Zhuang Chujiao certainly made a mistake, but she thought Grandma would likely blame Liang Rong for this; a granddaughter and a daughter-in-law hold different places in an elderly person’s heart.

Ruan Xinyu suddenly sighed and said, ”Speaking of which, Jiaojiao and Guan Chao really are a pair, one has a broken leg, and the other a broken arm.”

Her words had a probing intent, considering that it’s quite a coincidence; both recently offended Mu Yan.

Mu Yan was a bit baffled, their injuries had nothing to do with her.

She sneered slightly, ”Isn’t that true, both infuriatingly detestable, maybe even the heavens couldn’t bear to watch.”

Seeing her openly expressing her feelings so candidly, Ruan Xinyu immediately dismissed her doubts and said again, ”Nuannuan, call home more often if you have time; your grandparents miss you very much.”

Mu Yan paused for a moment and said, ”Okay.”

After ending the call, Mu Yan was thinking about the question Ruan Xinyu just asked, it really was too coincidental, it seemed deliberately set up to vent her anger.

Her thoughts shifted, she couldn’t do this, but it doesn’t mean someone else couldn’t.

Just as she was about to make a call, the event organizer asked her to come out.
